I mean, does it really matter how people advertise? Even if it gives less views, people will still do it, so it will have the same effect as it would normally.

Not exactly. People advertise TO MAKE VIEWS. And if a method doesn't work that means that they will abandon it because it is not effective. They will instead move on to other methods instead of spamming links, such as (probably) adding projects to studios and advertising in places where this is wanted.

I feel like people could abuse this to delete all comments referring to a project that they stole from because they cant give a link to the project. Still support tho, its basically the same with deleting comments.

I get the project stealing one. I would recommend reporting to the ST using report here
Anyways you're right.

Well the first part still counts as a link, but yeah, if you put a space in scratch.mit.edu, then it could be bypassed

Sry, I dont understand what you tried

Anyways, it breaks the link if you insert spaces but you're right this needs 2 be discussed.

What about this?
The bot automatically deletes all spaces and lowercases all letters so the comment like this:
Hi check out this (without spaces) https://scratch.mit.edu/pro jects/someidhere
will turn into this:
hicheckoutthis(withoutspaces)https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/someidhere
And if it detects projects (or studios) and scratch.mit.edu, it will delete the comment.

Sounds based! Good idea! I feel like in general when filting spaces should be ignored when looking for combinations because you could go like
inappropiate word to ina ppropiat e wor d and it should still filter it!

support - though could be like you click a button and it shows a drop-down (LIKE THIS BUT NOT A CODE BLOCK)
disable ads [ 1 ad a day v]
disable ads [ 0 ads a day v]
ETC i just think that'd be pretty cool!

NO SUPPORT!! What if you and some other scratcher are trying to work on something and they need a link to the project, you would need to get a scratch link and it would be flagged as advertising

scratch_NT wrote:

Suggestion:

I suggest that there is a toggleable checkmark under your projects and profiles comments that - if activated - makes that Scratch automatically deletes every comment under the project/profile that contains a project link (scratch.mit.edu/projects/ ) to prevent advertising. It can be only enabled / disabled by the owner and if added to studios only be changed by the owner.
he said toggelable checkmark, please read the WHOLE post before supporting / not supporting
