Apparently my school's computers seem to have been slower lately. One of the teachers said that there was an update going on in the background, probably involving the school servers because all the problems seem to be mainly online based. A website kept showing errors, an editing software wouldn't log me in, the app list my school provides doesn't even load sometimes, and Word keeps automatically switching to light mode until I restart it a couple times. I hope these get fixed after the update (which has been going on for about a week now).

A few things blocked on the district computers:
- Chess.com. (Everyone said it was unblocked, and, for them, it was. Not for me though, which is literally STUPID!!!!)
- Chesskid, which is owned by the Chess.com people. (I introduced my old friend to Chesskid, then we played a match, then Chesskid got blocked)
- Chrome's built-in dinosaur game. (Which is obvious, every school does that)
- Chrome Web Store themes. (And also most extensions, except for like 3 Google-related extensions and a Scratch-related one)
- Cool Math Games. (The block was very, VERY short-lived because someone sent in a ticket to IT. But when I tell IT to unblock Scratch, they tell me to stop asking for websites to be unblocked.)
- elgooG. (A website with various Google easter-eggs and fanmade easter eggs. Probably blocked because of the Chrome dino game clones.)
- Lichess. (What I chessed on for the most part. My username there was Chess-Cannon.)
- Prime drink website. (It's because it sells energy drinks and they want the students to make healthy choices, according to the first technology lady they had there. Yes, there were multiple tech teachers. Three of them. At my old middle school, they had pizza daily.)
- Scratch. (Blocked because of FERPA non-compliance, according to the IT guys, who CLEARLY didn't read the privacy policy)
- YouTube. (They sent out a newsletter saying they would be “limiting access” to YouTube on the school network. I thought they meant “Not every YouTube video will be watchable on the school Wi-Fi network.” No. They meant “You can no longer access YouTube with your school Google account.”)
I could go on a rant about the 3 tech teachers, but that's a discussion topic for another day…

That sucks, and the fact that they turn around and tell you to not request anything despite allowing people to request taking down innocent/sometime even ALLOWED websites genuinely seems annoying A few things blocked on the district computers:

The IT lads tell me to stop requesting unblocks because back in fourth grade, I would just spam “Unblock X extension!!! Unblock Cookie Clicker!!!!! Unblock Y website!!!!!!!!!” in the IT ticket reporter. Also, incoming skit! Text in parentheses in the skit is my commentary. “Looks like Chameleon's playing with Scratch in class.”
“Boss, it's an unstructured day for the middle schoolers!”
“Does it look like I care? Block Scratch, NOW! (Probably inaccurate depiction of the Information Technology bozos trying to”
Me a little while after Scratch was blocked:
“Please, unblock Scratch. It was going to be used for a tech lesson.”
“We will not because it is not FERPA compliant. (Do these IT guys even read the website's privacy policies?) Also, please stop asking for us to unblock Chrome extensions and websites.”
Meanwhile, some random student (We'll call him Billy, though his name is not Billy) after CoolMathGames gets blocked:
“Please unblock Cool Math Games! It's very educational!!!”
"Alright, Billy. We're unblocking Cool Math Games, because, well, it does have Math in the name…"

I feel your pain. Somehow the one time that cool math was blocked, it was unblocked after 2 days. Basically what I do in my free time is find websites, just out of their sight. There are also ways to walk out of their sight, I think you can do it by turning off your internet. But my school doesn't really take unblock requests. But I hate whoever is getting rid of some games and websites SO, SO much. The IT lads tell me to stop requesting unblocks because back in fourth grade, I would just spam “Unblock X extension!!! TurboWarp is the stupidest thing schools can block, if Scratch is unblocked. Like “I need my project to run faster!” “Nuh uh.” “Yes I do!” “Not in this district you don't, go home and speed it up”
