Maybe, I feel like that could've been part of the confusion (I now wonder if whatever you quoted was from a different topic), but have no idea yet Woah, did this topic get merged?

Ability To Change Username Capitalization
Any feedback on the mockup above (I remember posting it from 2023.) Mock-ups:
This one below is the username settings
The one below is the ability to reset your capplixation to the last edit or registration default
The one below is the ability to edit your username captials
You can change it but if you try to change the username it will say Error! You can’t change your username
Feel free to put it in the OP. Ask me for the links or quote this and use the links
Support. I feel like we should have it for if people want to change their caplixation

Yeah, but there are also two Scratchers that look like Zelink (ZeLink and Zeiink), which means… it’s already possible for Scratchers to be confused.Where would it go, exactly? Either way, it could cause confusion to some Scratchers about whether they know who that Scratcher is or not. (I know that it is just letter case changes.)It won't redirect Would it redirect to an Error 404 page?)
E.g. Let's say you were following a Scratcher named OAFMAOFNAON (yes, I just spammed random letters, I know) and he/she changed to oAFmaOFNaOn.
Also, lowercase l looks exactly like capital I, so that can also cause confusion. (E.g. There are two Scratchers named Lon and Ion (CAPITAL I FOR ION) and then Lon changes his username to lon (LOWERCASE L FOR LON). These sort of things can cause confusion for other Scratchers.

Oh yeah, I definitely support. I don’t really want to change my capitalization, but… dIepIpIs could be quite nice…

I personally really want the abillity to change my username, for example, you can see my name is @robodiskjokey, but I made the username when I didn't know how to spell it, so it would be great to change it to @Robodiskjockey

This is about capitalization. Completely changing usernames is rejected. I personally really want the abillity to change my username, for example, you can see my name is @robodiskjokey, but I made the username when I didn't know how to spell it, so it would be great to change it to @Robodiskjockey

For users or communities that remember names by appearance, changes like name123 to Name123 can still surprise individuals somewhat. Moderators would need to keep track of who changed the case of their name, which can be annoying if someone is constantly changing it regularly. Some users would constantly switch the capitalization in hopes of receiving attention or looking “cool” (i.e., nAmE, NAme, naME), clogging up notifications or logs. Even if backend supports it, Scratch developers would need to add an interface for casing switch, handle caching, refresh names shown on the site, and maybe restrict it to prevent excessive edits. Scratch is keeping things simple and kid-friendly. Adding small allowances for customization may lead to a flood of other such requests.

I would like to thank jvvg for directing me to this in an attempt to aid. However, I do not think this has any argument for or against my suggestion. Thank you.

They did not do that, this topic was linked on the TOLORS (which you should read) which jvvg linked when responding to your suggestion. I would like to thank jvvg for directing me to this in an attempt to aid. However, I do not think this has any argument for or against my suggestion. Thank you.

And I support, this can be useful for some people (and maybe me, cause I have only one capitalised letter).

I really want to change the first letter of my username to uppercase, it just looks weird as lowercase, so support.
