The iPod is a music player. Starting with the iPod video, they were capable of playing videos and games. Now i'm not sure if you know this but games can actually be re-released, and this was the case with Sonic the Hedgehog on the iPod. Sonic the Hedgehog was released on the iPod in 2007.

Sonic (controversial) - Sonic Boom personality, Sonic Adventure looks
Tails - Sonic Colors
Knuckles - SA2 personality and looks
Amy - Sonic X
Eggman - Sonic Generations

Sonic Racing Crossworlds is literary Sonic Forces on wheels, the tracks feel more linear than the previous Sonic Racing games, and the laps go by so fast you barely get to the good parts of the music.

It's a racing game, it is supposed to be linear. And I guess you haven't gone searching for any alternate routes, cause I've noticed the same amount, if not more than I did back in Riders and All-Stars Racing Transformed.
