Is there any way to deactivate my account?
I want deactivate my account as I no longer use scratch. I was wondering if there is any way to deactivate or hide the account without deleting it.
I want my profile hidden and all forum posts hidden as well. I want to be able to log back in and reactivate my account if I want.
Is it possible to do this or do I have to export my projects and delete the account.

The scratch FAQ did, at one point, write something about deactivating your account, but it has been removed so I don’t know if that’s still possible.
Still, you might want to use the help center and find out

Did you even read the original post, or just the title? account settings > email > i want to delete my account > yes, next step

No, as far as I know, that is not possible. You can sometimes delete all your posts and everything if you live in the EU under the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), but I'm pretty sure it's not possible to get anything back. I have heard some things about the Scratch Team being able to restore deleted projects though, but it's not as simple as just “deactivating” and “reactivating”. You have to reach out to them through “Contact Us”.

You'll have to do that. And for forum posts, the best workaround is to redact all of them from Is it possible to do this or do I have to export my projects and delete the account.here and save them somewhere (although your posts might be quoted by other people. even GDPR doesn't handle quotes)

The Terms of Use do say you can disable your account.
I'm not sure if it's actually possible, but you could at least email Scratch and try. 7.2 If you want to delete or temporarily disable your account, please email help@scratch.mit.edu.

As this Scratcher said, I don't think it's possible. The only option is to delete the account.

seconding the email scratch one because it lists that option in the TOS
but if you don't want to do so then you can only export all your projects then delete the account

One correction I have to make is that emailing them directly doesn't work anymore. Now you have to use the Contact Us page.I'm not sure if it's actually possible, but you could at least email Scratch and try. 7.2 If you want to delete or temporarily disable your account, please email help@scratch.mit.edu.
