I’ll alert the volunteers of info this weekend since school has gotten me pretty busy sobbing, I’ll also get to working on pfps + studio thumbnails for the wcgs this weekend as well!

okay, sounds good! just to clarify i have to write the “twisted” version and the happy ending?

you don’t have to write the happy ending, but you could if you’d like to! it’d be preferred if you did since it’d take a bit off my of workload aha

Hihi! This is what I came up with. I didn't write the happy ending yet as I think it should be based on what the campers come up with during the roleplays? For example, in the original ‘Hansel and Gretel’ tale, the children trick the witch into going in the oven and escaped the forest, but the campesr might propose something else.

Also not sure if I said this before but I think it'd be cool if we quote a part of the story we rewrote in our WCG description as the blurb thing? for instance, I'll include the part describing the gingerbread house.

Hansel and Gretel

Once upon a time, two siblings lived on the edge of the forest with their father and their stepmother. Food was scarce, and the family of four often did not have enough to eat.

One night, when the father expressed his worries, the stepmother, who had grown tired of having nothing to eat, complained, “The children are eating too much! We must get rid of them. Tomorrow we shall take them deep into the woods, and never will they find their way back again!”

The father, not wanting to argue with his wife, accepted reluctantly.

It so happened that Hansel and Gretel, the two children, had not been able to fall asleep and had heard all of their parents’ conversations.

“What should we do?” the little girl, Gretel, cried.
“Be quiet, or else we’ll be heard!” Hansel urged his sister, “And don’t worry, I have a plan.”

As quietly as he could, Hansel sneaked out of the house and into the night. He could just make out white pebbles glistening under the moon’s glow. Gathering as many as he could into his pockets, Hansel crept back into the house.

The next day, they set out into the woods with their stepmother. As they ventured deeper and deeper into the forest, Hansel dropped the pebbles one by one, creating a trail he and Gretel could follow back home. When the stepmother left them alone in the middle of the woods, Hansel and Gretel waited until night came and the moon was shining in the sky, illuminating the white pebbles Hansel had dropped on the path, to follow the little stones back to their house.

Their stepmother was furious when she found both children safely in their beds the following day.

Not long afterwards, however, the children once again heard their stepmother talk to their father.

“The children have eaten up everything again!” she grouched, “This time, we’ll take them deeper into the woods, so that they will not find their way out.”

The father, who had given in once, was obliged to do as his wife said.

Upon hearing this conversation, Hansel once again went out to fetch white pebbles – only this time, the door was locked. He came up with a solution, and, the following morning when they prepared to set out into the forest, he hid a piece of bread in his pockets. As they followed the trail into the forest, Hansel tore bits of bread and dropped them behind him.

When it was time to return and Hansel and Gretel were again left alone, however, they could not find any bread crumbs.

“What should we do?” cried Gretel, “the birds have eaten all the crumbs!”
“Don’t worry Gretel,” Hansel reassured his sister, though he himself was very scared, “we’ll find our way out of the forest.”

The children tried to follow the same trail back home, but instead they got further and further into the forest. They were lost.

It was nearing nighttime when Hansel spotted a source of light. Intrigued, the two siblings approached it, and discovered a funny looking house.

The walls of the house were brown – that kind of creamy, crispy colour so often associated with the fresh loaves of bread from the bakery. The windows were translucent, and Gretel couldn’t help but be reminded of the slick, sugary lollipops she and Hansel had once got at the fair. The roof was covered with a layer of soft white powder that closely resembled icing sugar.

“Look, Hansel!” exclaimed Gretel as a delicious smell filled her nostrils, “this house is made out of cake!”

Famished, the two children quickly began nibbling at the house. They had almost filled their stomachs when all of a sudden, the door opened and an old woman came out.

“Ah,” she said, her voice sweeter than a lullaby, “I see you children are hungry! Why don’t you come in, I have prepared dinner already.” She then led them into her house and served them a luxurious dinner. Happy and full, Hansel and Gretel climbed into the beds prepared for them and soon went to sleep.

They were far from expecting the surprise the next morning gave them, for the old woman was none other than an evil and hungry witch. She locked Hansel in a cage, and every day fed him until became fat enough to eat. Gretel, hopeless and miserable, was forced to do the chores and watch as her brother became plumper each day.

Soon enough, the witch decided it was time to eat Hansel and ordered Gretel to light the stove. Despite her efforts, Gretel could not stand against the evil woman and did as she was told.

The two children were never heard of again.

Ooh being able to purchase hint is such a cool idea!! Do we want the campers to actually be spending their currency (as in deducting), or should we not deduct from their total but instead have things like ‘have at least xxx currency to get a hint’?

I think having a cabin total of xx currency would make the most sense! for cabin merch it'd be individual milestones. speaking of, how much do we want cabin merch to cost?

hii apologies for the slight inactivity — im working on my fairytale ending now but probably won’t send it for another couple hours since i should probably go to bed.. (like definitely..) anyways similar to sunny i also probably won’t be writing my happy ending because it depends on how the campers roleplay it out!

alrighty then! also, sci-fi has asked to be enemies, thoughts?

for now, I think we just need to work out roleplay activities, the writing prompts, and the clues and we'll be all set for storyline planning!

after that we'll just need to get graphics done

okay i finished writing my fairytale!! i didn't include the part where they lock her in the room and the mice help her out, as thats only mentioned in some versions but i can always change it if you wish. basically cinderella goes to the ball but her stepsister gets asked by the prince first so she goes back home and doesnt get to marry the prince.

Cinderella

Once upon a time, a young girl whose name was Cinderella, live in a dainty house with her two stepsisters, and stepmother. Although life seemed to be at peace, Cinderella was often the one cleaning and serving others.

One day, as Cinderella was dusting the fireplace, a knock on door echoed through the house. Cinderella quickly ran over, and opened the door, twisting the knob covered in dust. In front of her laid a singular piece of thin paper. Holding the flimsy paper in her hand, her stepsisters rushed over and gasped when they had read the letter.

“We're invited the ball to meet the prince tonight!” the older stepsister squealed, skipping around.

Her stepmother nodded, “Come on now, before we're late.”

“Can I come?” Cinderella's small voice filled the air. Her stepsisters glared.

“Absolutely not. You have no beautiful dresses anyways. You shall stay home and mop the floors, when we come back I expect this place to be shining.” her stepmother replied, blinking once then walking out of the door and slamming it behind them.

Cinderella sighed, why must it always be her to do the cleaning? She cried in the garden, her already dirty gown soaking in mud. Though in the midst of the dark sky and scattered stars, a small light started to form. Then it grew, and grew, until it fell from the sky, landing in her garden. Cinderella gaped, watching as the light took shape of a person.

“What's with the crying now, dear?” A voice echoed through the garden, then a lady appeared through all the gleaming rays of light. The lady had squared shoulders and was fairly short. She had locks of gray hair up to her shoulders, but they were mainly covered with a dazzling blue piece of fabric covering her like an awning.

Cinderella, who was still in shock let the words leave her lips. “Well, you see, my family was invited to the annual ball to meet the prince, but they left me here, to mop the floors…”

The lady smiled, curving her lips and showing deep, beautiful dimples. “That is no problem. I am the Fairy Godmother, and when some are in need, I will help.”

She grabbed what looked like a magic wand from deep in her pockets, and raised it up high. A new light formed, but quickly faded as right before her, there laid a sparkling carriage and two horses to lead it along. Additionally, what used to be Cinderella's old, cleaning gown was replaced with a magical blue dress that looked beautiful under the moon's light.

“You may go to the ball now. However, I will warn you. When the clock strikes midnight, all the effects of this spell will wear off,” the Fairy Godmother strictly told her, then lead her into the carriage and waved goodbye.

The ballroom was delightful, decorated with beautiful ribbons and bows. The silk carpet leading up to the grand stairs, where the throne of the prince sat.
It's magnificent! Cinderella thought to herself, beaming as she walked around the ballroom. She felt eyes gazing at her, complimenting her through their stares. Then there he was, the most handsome prince of their land, walking alone. This was her chance, to walk by and she knew the prince would notice her sparkling gown.

Though before she could, there she was. Her oldest stepsister, walking towards the prince, grinning, then holding his hand. They accompanied each other for practically the whole night. Cinderella could feel the rage bubbling inside her, but also sadness. What was supposed to be her night was taken away. She couldn't do anything about it. The prince had made his decision, and now Cinderella was going to have to go back to cleaning. She rushed out of the castle, much before midnight, and hurried back to her home.

She cried all night, and when the spell wore off she mopped the floors, making the house look brand new. Then went back to bed, devastated and covered in pain and tears.

alright! I’m gonna try to get thumbnails and such done soon, and pfps are being worked on!
I think we should assign roles to volunteers + figure out the clues we’re gonna hide the storybook!

also, my activity is going to be limited from oct 23-27 as I’m going to texas for my aunt’s wedding! I’ll still have internet access but my activity will be fairly limited

okay! were a little behind soo maybe we can start assigning roles now? maybe each of us can hide our own clues inside our own stories? the only people who volunteered /specifically/ to be the fairy godmother are cat and encryn (i think) so we can just choose between the two?

sounds good! ill make the slides for the storybook project once I’m back from texas, and from there we can hide hints and such!! I’ll also get thumbnails done once I’m back and I’ll try to get pfps done soon as well, I don’t have a specific date but it’ll definitely be before the session starts!

so this is all that’s left I believe:
- make the storybook project
- assign roles
- make thumbnails

also, we haven’t exactly decided what the campers will do once they discover the fairy godmother is behind the stories being rewritten. I think we can keep it simple and make it so they have to write xxx words collectively or do xx dailies, etc etc to cast a spell or something to prevent the fairy godmother from doing it again!

edit: I’ll also draft up a cabin guide as well once I get home from texas! I already have the design ready so I’ll just write everything for the guide soon and put it all in the slides once I’m back. if I have time I’ll also make an aesthetic set!

I think we definitely need to get our WCGs done before sending out invites to our campers, I’ll try to get the thumbnails done tomorrow, the schedules a bit tight but we’ll make it work out. Storybook also hopefully will be completed soon, and I’ll make a cabin guide as well if time allows.

edit: also, for cabin currency, i think we can just use the same amounts as I did for mystery last session, which was the following:

The fairytale’s happily ever after has been taken away, the hope that our classic fairy tales brought now destroyed. It’s up to you to enter the storybook and travel through the pages to restore the endings back to their original state, and figure out who the unknown hand behind the rewritten stories is to prevent it from happening once again…Hello there!
