Objectively? Probably multiβ-N imo. Literally had 17 completely unique voicebanks and was a VX-β so was arguably as realistic as vocaloid has gotten. RIP VX-β studio. You were so peak.
If we're counting other engines, Solaria. Whilst I'm personally not the biggest fan of her voice, she's actually insanely high quality. All of eclipsed sounds' voicebanks are, but Solaria has is probably the best just because she has a more neutral, versatile quality to her voice if that makes sense?

Now, if we're talking in terms of character design, it's Miku. No questions. She's one of the most recognizable characters ever. She basically owns an entire colour. What other character is like that?

Favorite: For sure Gumi, hands down. She was one of the first synths I really listened to when getting into Vocaloid (besides Miku obviously). Her vocal range for both English and Japanese, her design.. I mean what's not to love about her. I mean she's probably some people's first taste of vocaloid without even realizing, especially with how much her V3 English voicebank was used when Vocaloid popularity was starting to spread more West. For a favorite male vocal synth currently, it's probably Kaito. I've seen other people hate the way he voicebank sounds at times but there are some producers out there who really do him justice in terms of tuning.

I really don't have a least favorite vocal synth as I feel they all have their strengths and flaws to them, but I don't necessarily dislike one in particular.

Gumi was my favourite vocaloid when I started listening (back when I thought vocaloid was an electric piano plugin) and I still love her dearly she's so cute she's so sweet she has absolutely gorgeous vocals also my darling multilingual queen sounds good in Japanese and English and I haven't listened to any songs where she sings in mandarin but I bet she sounds gorgeous in that language as well cute and iconic design also she's green my favourite colour also have you heard her?

Least favourite: I used to be annoyed by Gachapoid Ryuto's design but then I looked up the character he's based on and yeah it's pretty accurate
