I would love to know why the trending page doesn't update

It's actually not. The Scratch Team has manty responsibilities to take care of, such as implementing the new Face Sensing blocks, and moderating the platform. Scratch is for coding, not becoming popular.

Bots cannot do the work for the Scratch Team. Inappropriate content can show up, and bots do not have a sense of what is really meaningful. For example, it would all be mainstream culture, like Warrior Cats and Tung Tung Tung Sahur.

the trending page is already controlled by a bot that just checks the amount of loves and faves the project has. it does take scratch team resources to maintain that bot though, which is why the trending page is currently frozen.
