Great game! Been playing the Phoenix Wright Trilogy on PlayStation and it’s super fun! It’s laughably inaccurate to real courts, but it would be boring if it was accurate. I like the way it kinda lets the player figure out a lot of stuff themselves without the game constantly trying to give them a tutorial. I’m on trials and tribulations now! Godot’s my favourite character, definitely.

Godot's one of my favorites as well. What do you think about Shoe (Matt Engarde's cat from Justice for All's last case)?

When you get through it, I recommend playing Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc. It's quite a bit darker than Ace Attorney, but Monokuma has some golden dialogue about every other sentence. Some examples:

“Oh, wait, lamesauce? Is it tasty?” (DR2)

“Well, since you're so interested, I guess I can tell you about my wife… She's a salmon.” (USC)

"[REMOVED TO CONFORM WITH LOCAL AND INTERNATIONAL CENSORSHIP LAWS]" (DR, and yes, that is the actual line)

He's got a lot of funny ones, but not too many are very… Scratch-friendly, shall we say.

Over an online stage session, my friend and I recently went on what was supposed to be a typical dramatic reading of Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies. Over-the-top logical spirals, anime courtroom mayhem, and other things like that are typical, OBJECTIONS flying like confetti at a lawyer-themed rave.

Everything was going much too well.

Then we got to the scene. The emotional crescendo. Juniper Woods was almost going to be judged Not Guilty. To keep her perfect college life at Themis Legal Academy, she would stroll free soaking the aroma of justice and tree sap.

And then…

It transpired.

The Judge spoken by my dear, beloved, formerly trustworthy friend leaned into the microphone with the weight of a thousand gavel blows, and said:

“One day you'll grow a beard as good if not better than mine.”

With the speed of a lawyer sprinting to object during a last-minute hearing, my soul left my body. My awareness today dwells in a filing cabinet between Things You Can't Unhear and Horror.

I am confused as where I am right now. Every time I close my eyes, I envision Juniper Woods with the Judges' beard. Every time I hear wind in the trees, I swear it whispers Facial Follicles of Justice.

Thank us for this later cursed imagery… Or don't… Either way, it's too late.

Every single word of this was an absolute joy to read and the final Judgeiper images were just the cherry on top
My favourite lines were “objections flying like confetti at a lawyer themed rave”, “My awareness today dwells in a filing cabinet between Things You Can't Unhear and Horror” and “ Facial Follicles of Justice” and I think such golden phrases as these will now enter my daily lexicon

Just hit the final day of Turnabout Goodbyes so I'm here to say how hilarious it is that Gumshoe gives us updates on Edgeworth's emotional status more or less unprompted
every time you talk to him about Edgeworth he's like “yeah you've upset him he's all depressed now” or “we share a mutual trust!” and “I saw him close to tears in court what you did meant a lot to him” and “I was worried about him when I felt the earthquake obvs” and “ofc he was really grateful didn't you notice?”
edgeworth is incapable of expressing emotions so gumshoe does it for him ig
does edgeworth know? that his spiky-haired childhood best friend changed the trajectory of his life for him and his spiky-haired detective worries about him constantly? and that virtually every player wants to see him happy?
Anyway I'm about to head into the final day of trial and I'm going to be so annoyed when he inevitably messes up the entire trial ehe

Angel Starr is the most annoying witness oh my goodness
I had to brute-force her first testimony in the end bc I couldn't figure out what on earth the contradiction was but I got it in the end
I love Ema dearly she's so silly
Her little notes to herself are adorable and I can't believe I ever doubted her. Sure she doesn't have a spirit channeling ability and her science gimmick isn't my favorite feature ever but her dialogue makes up for everything

I made an image showcasing what happens when the developers of Ace Attorney decide to bring Athena's base character files into question.

I guess they must've realized that Widget's constant blurting was causing too many problems for her in the long run! Anyways… Here it is:
