An option in account settings to change the site's theme and navigation bar colour
THANK YOU!Cant we just add a color picker? Everyone is bound to opinions.clippy pfp comes in clutchlightnin's comment is old and isn't an indication of rejection. furthermore, other software does allow customisation and personalisation and hence there is no reason why that should be confusing to new users. i've seen this as an excuse to not welcome a new feature, as opposed to explaining what to do to remedy thisThe Scratch Team is probably not going to do that, as seen in a post that I cannot find. The point is that it may be confusing to New Scratchers who don't know how the Scratch website works yet. If someone is doing a tutorial, they may have a hard time understanding the tutorial if someone is using a completely different theme from them.Cant we just add a color picker? Everyone is bound to opinions.Yes, that's the whole point.
I personally would like to have an option to revert to blue, (maybe in the footer) but the ST will probably not do anything more. It is not a need for the website, nor will it help Scratch community in any way, as it is purely cosmetical.this is … what we're all suggestingBut a lot of people are thinking one, uniform color for everyone. Im saying that for one person they can choose a color to see on the rest of the siteCant we just add a color picker? Everyone is bound to opinions.Yes, that's the whole point.
to #2141 and #2142 and others, i hate to nag but these points you raise are either included in the original post or don't contribute to the suggestion. the forums are simply to discuss constructively, and it would be nice if they were used in that way to further improve the OP. i do appreciate the wide support this suggestion has received over the years but receiving ways this could be improved would be absolutely fantastic
i would furthermore like to, out of a point of curiosity, point out that it's interesting that the community's reasoning for supporting this idea has shifted from “i want other colours” to “this is better than the purple”, even two years on. if you look at the age of both my suggestion (#11) and the merged suggestion (#1), you will note that this suggestion was raised as part of “customisation” back in 2018 and 2013 respectively, well before the 2023 change of the theme from blue to purple.

I actually did not know @lighnin made a post about this. My post (shown below) is simply out of personal opinion. The “post I cannot find” was made by a Scratcher.

Cant we just add a color picker? Everyone is bound to opinions.I’m afraid that the Scratch Team won’t be very impressed by the thought of a color picker for a dark mode alternative. Mainly because I think they don’t like people modifying vanilla Scratch or the website itself, they rather have people suggest dark mode in their respiratory PRs.
A color picker is not a bad idea though but I don’t think they’ll consider it, but you’ve got the right idea.

By the logic of some of you, Windows tutorials don't work because you can change the colour of window frames (or you could, last time I used Windows)

I think there should be a drop-down menu in the settings (where high contrast blocks are) that lets you switch between the old blue color and the current purple color. Purple should be set by default, so colorblind people see better.

(#2156)i feel like this suggestion should apply to both the editor and the website, maybe i should make that clear lol
