Network Ban

Hello Scratch Team,

I recently discovered that I cannot access Scratch from my network (it seems my IP has been banned).
I’m not sure why this happened, as I don’t recall violating the Community Guidelines.

I also noticed that when I try to view some projects (like project 2660020176), I get an error,
but that project isn’t mine, so I don’t believe it’s related to my ban.

Could you please let me know the reason for this network ban, and if possible, lift it?
I really enjoy using Scratch for learning and creating, and I would like to continue
participating in the community responsibly.

Thank you for your time and understanding.

Sincerely,
YtArie5

Maybe someone else on the same network (especially if you're using a VPN) abused their Scratch privileges? I think you should use the “contact us” page (make sure to include the code!)

Because I used to have a similar problem when using a certain phone cell tower

2660020176 does not exist, when I posted this I created a project and the ID was 1218999632, so since Scratch was created we've hardly come half the way to that. About the IP ban, try using Contact Us, doubt this forum will help.

The others are right, use the Help Center ( https://scratch.mit.edu/contact-us/ ) to contact ST. In the mean time, I recommend you log out of any accounts so that you don't get flagged for ban evading.

if you want to know why, contact them as they say they do on the ip ban page. don't make alt accounts to try and ask why you were banned, it will not make them look at your case faster (from my own personal experience being banned )

Common reasons could be if you're using a school network, the school's IP address is possibly banned due to another student. I know the IP Address of all the buses in my district that have Wi-Fi are blocked, which is why you guys may see me use my phone from time to time. If you have siblings that have used Scratch in the past at home and got banned, that's probably it as well. Or you may be using a banned VPN, as that's a common scenario.

1. Are your any of your accounts currently permanently blocked? If so, log off immediately and use the Help Center/Contact Us or email appeals@scratch.mit.edu to appeal. If not, do you have someone living in the same house/using the same IP address as you who is permanently blocked? For that I would advise your sibling/family member/etc. to use the link or email mentioned. You can also use the Help Center link to ask the Scratch Team about the block directly- Random users on a public forum won't be able to give you reasoning for bans.

2. You can't view others' unshared projects. You can view your own, however.

If you use a VPN, you need to disable the VPN so you can use Scratch. Scratch is banning IP Adresses from VPN servers. And about talking with Scratch Team, you need to use Contact Us page so you can talk with Scratch Team

Blocked networks are equivalent in status to blocked accounts, which is to say that we are not able to resolve these issues over the forums because the nature of why the network is blocked could be inappropriate or contain sensitive/personal information. Please use the contact information provided in the block message, or use “Contact Us” or “Help Center” link at the bottom of the Scratch webpage to resolve the issue.
