Kinda? One On one hand, it's a classic game that deserves most of its love. On the other hand, it hasn't changed in a while (aside from the items), leaving it a bit stale in my eyes.

But… The marketplace is really the main reason why Microsoft bought Minecraft in the first place. They did other stuff, sure, like novels, plushies, and all that stuff, but the marketplace in Bedrock edition is really a main source of revenue for them. The reason why Microsoft decided to make Minecraft big was because the marketplace was basically their ultimate plan to monetize the game forever.
And if Microsoft didn't buy and expand Minecraft as a franchise, I don't think the game would have been as big as it is now.


On a side note, EA was among the companies that tried bidding for Minecraft before being sold to Microsoft, so remember that no matter how bad you think the marketplace is, it could definitely have been worse.

Also, I feel like if it was removed minecraft would stop getting support as even though a lot of people bought it, it comes to a point where since most people already have it then sells will decline.
(Also, removing the marketplace will cut a lot of people's jobs, and the marketplace makes sure modders can actually get paid for their work)
Truth is, if you don't like it, ignore it as you can really play the game without ever even looking at the marketplace. And if you want free mods, either buy a 3000$ 780p 4k pc for java, or just go to mcpedl.
