Have you completed the whole tutorial series?
I'm pretty sure there's 6 episodes, and stuff starts looking 3D in the second episode (the playlist/group for them can be found here, but there also seems to be some other things to do with raycasting there)
I would check the project but it seems you've unshared it.

[Edit] Just noticed the above comment saying that you have scrapped the work you'd done. That's a shame as the existing code would no doubt have been built upon in later chapters of the tutorial.

The project looked fine for the point you'd reached in the tutorial. There was no script in your project to project the ray casting into 3D.
