Remix Metadata Tag to Stop Stealing
I'll start by saying I don't have much knowledge on metadata or things like that, but I have a suggestion:
Projects are very often stolen by malicious people in an intent to become popular without putting in any effort of their own. While it would be very hard to stop ALL stealing, I think I have an idea to stop one part of the problem, “file stealing”, which is a term I made up for when someone presses “See inside” on a project or remixes it, downloads the project from (File > Save to your computer) and uploads it as their own.
I have an idea to stop this, and it's a metadata tag that states the name of the original creator of the project. If the person straight up downloads the file from the original project, it would save the name of the creator of said project, and if the file was downloaded from a remix, it would save the name of the creator of the original project. This tag would be used so that when the stolen project is uploaded by someone else, the “Thanks to (OC) for the original project (OP).” message would appear as it does in remixes.
What do you think?

Remix Metadata Tag to Stop Stealing
i also know nothing about metadata, but this definitely seems like a plan!!!
also i had no idea you could upload “remixes” without the remix tag by just downloading the file

Support this, 100%. I do not like when people take other people's hard work and say it's their own.

Remix Metadata Tag to Stop Stealing
Someone could bypass this by converting to .zip and removing the metadata, but that is difficult for a new user to do and could be checked for.
overall I think this is a good idea

Would it still appear under the remix tree?

Remix Metadata Tag to Stop Stealing
I'd assume it would, it would be easy to track with the metadata tag and just attach it. Would it still appear under the remix tree?
Though, the remix tree is deprecated so I don't think that it would be linked deliberately

Remix Metadata Tag to Stop Stealing
(At least in my idea) it would be just like a remix in every aspect, including the remix tree. Would it still appear under the remix tree?

No support, I don't see why we would need this? As @MagicCoder330 stated:
Someone could bypass this by converting to .zip and removing the metadata …And plus, there is a report button. We all need to understand you can report these projects.
This tag would be used so that when the stolen project is uploaded by someone else, the “Thanks to (OC) for the original project (OP).” message would appear as it does in remixes. Not useful. Just report. I have an idea to stop this, and it's a metadata tag that states the name of the original creator of the project. If the person straight up downloads the file from the original project, it would save the name of the creator of said project, and if the file was downloaded from a remix, it would save the name of the creator of the original project.
