As much as I like the idea of having a like/upvote for comments, you could also just type ‘Agree’ if you really like it that much. It could also potentially cause competition for more likes, also leading to dumb comments like, "Like this comment if you like _____'. In theory, this sounds great, but it literally serves no purpose except for causing competition and popularity contests. No support.

“follow if you like ___” happens today, nothing would change, there's no benefit of getting upvotes, it's a fun concept, not like you get pts As much as I like the idea of having a like/upvote for comments, you could also just type ‘Agree’ if you really like it that much. You could just comment ‘like’ if you like a project. Does that mean it should be removed? No, bc then people could spam “like” in threads. You could just comment ‘like’ if you like a project. Does that mean it should be removed? Either way, there's obviously going to be pros and cons.

No, because that would cause a lot of unnecessary messages for popular Scratchers.

Maybe it could notify you like the forums? It won't notify you for every new like, just that there are new ones.

I support because instead of saying “I agree” and clogging up topics, you can just upvote.

Because, while it sounds like a really simple feature, it's a lot harder to implement than you might think. I'm no software dev, so I don't really know what goes on behind the scenes, but it's always safe to assume that it's hard to implement a feature to how hasn't this been added yetany app, or website, or whatever.
However, the ST isn't entirely free of blame. This topic is more than 10 years old. You'd think the Scratch Team would at least say that this is a feature they want to add. But no, they still insist on maintaining a website far, far too large for the team they have. I admire the ambition, but it comes at the cost of things like this.

No support, its like the project rating thing. It discourages unpopular opinions as they would probably get alot of dislikes.
No dislikes then.
