The ability to toggle gifs on and off

One suggestion has been floating around for animated project thumbnails to be banned, or removed, to reduce lag.

But since that will only really help weak devices stay a bit less laggy, and will probably undermine all the work that can be put into animated thumbnails, I have a better idea.

In account settings there should an option to turn off gifs (as in for profile pictures, studio thumbs, and obviously project thumbs), so computers that literally cannot run more that one animation at a time can work more smoothly. While still keeping the small culture of animated thumbnails alive and well.

I've heard some word about projects with animated thumbnails being marked as NFE (not for everyone), so they can't appear on trending. And even though there's one on trending right now, that ANNOYING glitch that keeps making trending frozen has been on for like… Two months now? (very unfortunate) so maybe it came in before the change, OR maybe the creator made the thumbnail animated after it came on.

Well either way, if animated thumbs are NFE. Then I'd recommend Un-NFEing them and implementing this. It's just better for everyone.

If you do add this to the account settings, I think some other potential settings (like dark mode) can perhaps go with it

Support, it's really unfair an amazing project can't get on the front page because of its thumbnail.

I agree to this, they should not be banned entirely.
