Yeah…. they’re gone. I tried them out (even renamed the variables) and they don’t work.

My browser / operating system: MacOS Macintosh X 10.15.7, Chrome 138.0.0.0, Flash 32.0 (release 0)
Not just you (one of my projects went back to like 5 and 0 for the variables, and the cloudmonitor doesn't load)

I also tried an alt and it was resetting when I refreshed:

I don't know if this is intentional or not, but hopefully they're fixing the variables

It would be nice if ST is finally dealing with the cloud variable hackers.

https://clouddata.scratch.mit.edu/ and wss://clouddata.scratch.mit.edu both return 502 Bad Gateway when I try to access them

Wow…. SO it's not just me.. I KNEW there was something bad happening with cloud variables.

It seems there is ALWAYS an issue with these every year, I don't understand why……. Is it the servers going down due to overload, or is it just hackers?.. :-/

I think it is hackers, most likely @veryrelteacher and his/her alts.

You might want to put a warning on your cloud variable projects (everyone that sees this) by the way

It is not hackers, likely.

Most “hackers” can't do much other than change the cloud variables

They could only go down if there was a major oversight, or the ST pulled the plug.

someone made a petition to take them down until issues that barely happen are fixed and now normal people like us can't use them for our projects!

There is going to be a flood of people coming to the forums to talk about this. We should probably set up a sticky explaining that it is intended

Is there proof of it being intended though? Outages like this happened in previous years too

I was making a game with cloud variables and I thought I was going crazy because for the life of me I could not figure out what error I somehow had messed with in my code making it not work.

I wonder if they'll ever find a better solution than having to deal with all these cloud variables? It seems these cloud data keeps getting offline at least once a year, and I'm sure it annoys the users when they are working on such projects. Perhaps something like the use of local storage would be a better option for saving data?

I know that it's not going to happen, but it's just a thought.
