Scratch's moderation.

If possible, ST needs a bigger team or project moderation bots ASAP! If anyone remembers the incident my projects became victim of, that seems like it's starting again.

Scratch team (or people who support Scratch in general) needs to find a way of convincing bigger businesses that can provide more technology for moderation why Scratch matters.

For me, It's a perfect place to get pre-knowledge of coding, If it weren't for Scratch, I wouldn't have made Sonic 4 Episode 3.

In the future, since it seems like it's going to expand further on electronics, coding would be a useful skill for kids to learn.

I don't want this website to be lost, it kept my head up through tough times. I don't even know if I would be around to post something like this.

I've learned over the last few days not to do a passion for attention, but for what's right, and right now, I want to help Scratch and it's users from going down a bad path.

So Scratch Team, please consider my idea, it would do better for the community, right now, nowhere on the internet is a total safe place. But if I could pick one website, it would be Scratch.

A bigger team would be nice, but hiring people takes time and money.

Unfortunately from what I know they do not have the resources to hire more people at the moment. However, the moderation has seemed to be getting better recently. While there are still problems, ST is doing their best. And don't worry, the website isn't going anywhere, especially not with 4.0 in development.

I'll move this over to the Suggestions section for you - that's a better fit for this kind of topic

Note that having a bigger team requires money to pay moderators, which limits the number of moderators Scratch can have.

Scratch also currently does not use project moderation bots — and I believe it will stay that way.

I'm afraid that I don't. If you could share general details on what is happening (without naming specific Scratchers), we could offer alternate suggestions (either for you or for the Scratch Team).

This is a very big task. What are some ways that you would suggest doing this?

Possibly, some of the ST employees (or representatives) could have meetings with some tech companies like Google, but here are some things I think ST should take note when talking to them:

Scratch is a very good place to start coding, and in the future, when A.I is eligible to fully take that role for commercial products, there may not be any people that would actually code, since they could find it too hard, and would probably think “Why should I do this work when A.I can?”

Coding isn't just used for jobs, it can be a passion, and since Scratch's block based programming is easier to learn, kids in the near future could find out they actually have a passion for coding on the website, thanks to its creativity, and soon, they would be up for the jump to actual coding languages.

If this website eventually gets a bad look like a CERTAIN OTHER kids programming platform (no matter how hard ST tries to minimize it with their very small team that has to moderate such a big website), then it could be treated the same way as that by actual thoughtful parents.

So that's why I think Scratch's security matters.

Depending on which technology company you ask, they may or may not mind A.I replacing all their employees in the future where few people can actually code, but Google seems to be neutral about it.

What incident. Also idk if that makes sense considering scratch's budget lol

Which platform? Try to censor it.

That's why I think ST should get a bigger budget from a company that would support them.

Not gonna happen. Scratch is a nonprofit, no company would pour millions of dollars into something as unprofitable as scratch.

Well… some already did. Examples include Endless, Google, Siegel Family Endowment, and the LEGO and Gordon and Betty Moore foundations.

Yeah they made something called Scratch membership, like it's a donation program you can join to keep the site free. So dont worry about them making ads in free version. Also they added face sensing!

I got banned for a 3 emoji. Scratch called a “Bad word”, no way it's not AI moderation.

I don’t agree with the bot moderation
but I do agree with the bigger ST (as in humans)

because scratchers already accused ST of using bots
and adding bots will boost the defamation even more (bots can make more mistakes than humans)
so humans would do better than a bot

<[Scratch Moderation] = [Bad]>
technically you got muted, not blocked
and if you are talking about the 3 emoji on the square
it’s most likely censored to prevent users from bypassing
