You aren't the only one. With all the other bugs regarding messages, i'm not too surprised. When one thing is “fixed” another may break. I believe the notification system is kinda broken right now. Especially with indexing the variable regarding how many “new/unread” messages you have. Just reload the page or head to a new page to try and see if it helps for a bit.

My browser / operating system: Windows NT 10.0, Chrome 131.0.0.0, No Flash version detected
Sometimes I recieve a message, however it's actually a message I got from a few minutes/hours ago.
Anyone experiencing this?
If you are having this bug, please discuss about it here, no making a new topic about it.
I get the same issuse and sometimes its bigger/smaller and clicked, smaller/bigger
Only happens to scratch 2.0 pages
Maybe this is happening:
when I receive [check messages v]
say [4]
when this sprite clicked
say []

Somehow, I've always been able to (and still am) trust the my stuff folder for the right message count. It always works, got to your my stuff and see your message count.

yup, its happening to me. and it's not even messages i recieved from a couple minutes ago, i recieve ‘ghost messages’ from like yesterday whenever i visit the 2.0 pages. I reported this to the st and they said ther're fixing it…

same for me when I get a new message that happens for example I got 3 messages but there is only 2 can someone fix this bug?

bump=you know the fix is to go to another page at it disappears? IT HAS MUTATED so now you have to go to two pages for the ghost messages to disappear!

When I was on a user projects list, it appears that the message counter has like I have 24 messages inestad of 1 or nothing at all. I don't know why this happened but maybe is a bug…
