SWC Megathread ‧₊˚❀༉‧ July 2025

Thank you Notes!

Generally, I just wanted to express my gratitude to everyone! SWC would not be SWC without the people in it, and it has been such a blessing to see all of you thrive in unique ways. I wasn’t really involved in the culture this month, which breaks my heart (I’ll be more active in november, I promise!), but seeing all the joy, laughter, and inspiration that has come from this session of SWC is so moving. I want each of you who reads this to keep one thing in mind: You are made for greatness, and no matter what level your writing is at currently, I am sure that you have the gumption and determination to keep going and keep improving. SWC is better because of YOU; never forget that.

Now, onto the more localized thank yous!

Hosties:
ALKSDJFLKJSDLFKJSD LITERAL SAINTS WHAT THE HECK WHY ARE YOU GUYS SO COOL? SAVE SOME COOLNESS FOR THE REST OF US.
Thank you all so much for all of the hard work y’all have put into this session of SWC. The Barbie theme was such a good one! I have no idea just how much time, effort and energy these sessions take to put together, and honestly, I’m happy to leave it up to such capable people as you guys. Thank you for your constant sacrifice for us; it’s such a blessing and so appreciated.

(Co)Leaders:
Y’all were the MODEL of leadership this session! I am so proud of each and every one of you for running such well-oiled machines. You each have your own unique giftings, and you all used them so well for creating and running your cabins. Congratulations to every ONE of you, no matter who ends up at the top of the leaderboard. You all contributed, you all built some extraordinary cabins that will never, ever be replicated again. Each cabin was ICONIC in it’s own way, and I loved seeing all of your wonderful ideas! I would love to see you guys reemerge as leaders once again in another session! Much love y’all, I’m proud of you!

Mabel:
AGHGHGHGH MABEL!! You were such a fun leader this session, I’m so proud of you! Genuinely, dude, I loved seeing how your leadership guided the team into creating such a vibrant and lively cabin! The cabin concept was so great, I’m so glad that I got to be in a kotlc cabin!! Your ideas were all so great, and you led us well (especially during cabin planning) in an organized but flexible manner, which is so important within the creative culture of SWC. I’ve been under many a leader and planned with them, and your unique way of leading has definitely stuck out to me over my time in SWC. You’ve been blessed with such wonderful talents, I am SO proud of you for using them well this session. Continue being the same lovely, encouraging, creative person you are. I hope that we may share more sessions of SWC together, and that we can keep in touch OUTSIDE of SWC. You are so fun to lead with, and I hope that you get more opportunities to make the same impact on others as you did with me. THANK YOU! <33333

Crim:
Weeeeeeee meet again, except this time it’s as cos together! Crim, you did such a fantastic job coleadin alongside the rest of our crew! You are so fun, so encouraging, and so talented. Like, bro, this pfp is not dropping for another month, it’s that good. Thanks for being such a great co, you brought light into every space you entered. You brought insight into every conversation. You were such a good example of what a great leader looks like, both inside and outside the context of SWC. You have been equipped with such creativity, such talent, and I envy you for that haha- Continue being the same wonderful person you showed to me, our campers, and all of swc. I could keep praising you for forever, but my fingers would fall off before the halfway mark. Thanks for being such a wonderful coleader, and I pray that you’ll continue to use your talents for others’ benefit in the future. Here’s to more wonderful sessions of SWC! <33

Marbles:
Marbles!! Thank you so much for being such an awesome person to co-lead with! I’ve seen you around a lot, and we’ve had a few fleeting conversations here and there, but now, having an established full session together as cos was so fun! You’re so creative, as well as a genuine supporter. You’re so good at doing what needs to be done, and you were very open and transparent. Your ideas were all so great as well, and I think that, truly, you were BUILT to be a leader, both inside and outside of SWC. Thanks for serving both our leading team and the campers this past month or so. Keep being awesome! Keep being the same wonderful person I had the pleasure of coleading with this session! I hope to see you around in more sessions, if possible! You’re amazing, keep up the good work!! I’m so proud of you, thank you! <333

Aurora:
My dude, you are SO cool. Thanks for spending another SWC session with me again, even if we didn’t really interact within this context at all this month. Keep being the cool writer and even cooler friend I have seen you grow into over the course of our friendship. You mean so much to me, and the fact that we are friends shows something about how life knows exactly what you need and when you need it. I apologize for being so inactive, (I’ve got good reasons for it I promise *sob*), and I hope that that stays in the past! I’ve got one more summer camp to go before it’s full-on activity from there! I’ve missed you, and I’m so proud to be your friend <3

Fantasy:
My lovely fantasy campers, I am SO PROUD OF EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU, YOU HAVE NO IDEA. You all rallied together during cabin wars, you all banded together to find out who the traitor was each week! (;D) I got to see so many of you grow into better creatives throughout the week, and it is SO inspiring. Whether this was your 1st or your 10th session of SWC, I hope that you learned something new and applied it. It was a pleasure to be one of your coleaders, and I hope that you all go on to become the best versions of yourselves possible! Much love, my friends! Thank you for one heck of a session! <33

Conclusion:
All in all, I’m so proud of you guys! If I didn’t address a note to you directly, I’m sorry, I’m a bit pressed for time haha- (essays… so many essays… (jk I’m being dramatic, but still-)) I am very proud of you all!

Critique for Star
Click here for some actual good writing lol

Some Typos:
It was a beautiful
Do you mean “it was beautiful”?

and the city it contained were were
It says were twice

not that Camp Juptiter cared
Jupiter is spelled wrong here

read: lots of being dying including him
I think something’s wrong with this sentence but I can’t exactly figure out how to fix it…

He hazzarded
Im. not even fully sure what word that's supposed to be, to be honest

He was eating lunch in one of New Rome's restaurants, he wasn't really hungry but he had thought that eating would get his mind off everything
Run on sentence!! I run into these all the time when writing, they’re super annoying…

But that was an almost blasphemous to think about, let alone to wish for.
An almost blasphemous thing to think about? Or that was almost blasphemous to the about? But either way the current sentence isnt quite right

they made Apollo feel bad for him
I assume you mean “that made Apollo feel bad for him”

Overviews:
I really enjoyed the writing itself!! I probably missed some typos since I kept getting caught up in the actual story rather than the grammar and spelling. As a fan of the riordanverse who personally LOVES Apollo (he’s just a silly little guy <333) I was VERY excited to see what this was about. Excellent job writing, and I’m sorry I had too much fun reading to remember how to be the most helpful :’)
(sorry this is so short as well. I'm not actually very good at this. Oh well, i hope i managed to somehow be kinda helpful, at least a little bit.)

WEEKLY FOR GOTHIC! 2259 words

Making an Outline - 446 words

-Main character: Jules Hartman
-While Jules’s parents are working through the divorce, she is sent to live with her Great-aunt Evelyn. Evelyn doesn’t go out much or really talk to anyone anymore, lives in an old mansion just outside of an old mining town.
-The novel starts out with Jules riding on a train in the rain. She gets to Evelyn’s place and is met by her, and she shows her to her room, ect but also warns her to be kind to the others living there, but Jules brushes it off as her aunt’s crazy rambling, because as far as she knows, Evelyn lives alone.
-While at the mansion, Jules notices some strange things: scraps of paper with frantic writing in an unknown language seem to appear out of thing air around the house, and noises and smells that Jules can’t figure out where they’re coming from start happening.
-One day, Jules is wandering around the house and comes across an old library. It looks like it hadn’t been touched in years and everything is dusty and has cobwebs everywhere. She goes in and starts looking through the shelves. As she’s turning the corner, she sees a pale man standing by a desk and looking at an old picture. He looks like he’s from maybe the 1600s (my inspiration for his appearance is kind of a Caleb Wittebane sort of style of clothing?). Jules accidentally makes a floorboard creak, and Thomas (the ghost dude) turns around, sees her, drops the photo, and disappears. The glass on the frame breaks, so Jules takes it and reframes and repairs it and puts it back. She waits for a bit, and then Thomas appears again and talks to her. H explains that the woman was his fiancée, but she disappeared before they could be married, and that’s why he couldn’t move on from the physical world, because he knew that she (Rose) was still out there as a ghost (but trapped) and he needed the help of someone living to figure out how she died.
-The novel ends with Rose and Thomas reuniting, Thomas saying goodbye to Jules, and both moving on to the Ghost Realm.
-We also get a fast forward 15 years to Jules married to a woman named Alexis and they have two adoptive children, Rosemary (who is five and was named after Rose*) and Luke (who is three).

*Okay so I’m not entirely sure how naming adopted children works if they’re adopted from birth and I tried to do a bit of research but several sites were saying different things. So, in this universe, the adoptive parents get to name the kid I guess??

Exposition - 341 words
shameless conan gray reference hehe. i was talking about music so i had to,,

Rain splattered against Jules’s window in sheets, turning the passing fields and trees into blurred abstract shapes. The lyrics to Ribs by Lorde blasted through her headphones as she leaned against the cool glass pane, and her foot tapped nervously along to the beat of the song.

A click sounded across the train as the intercom came on. “Next stop, Lucille Bates Village. Half a mile.” Her stop. She pulled off her headphones just as Comfort Crowd started playing.

Soon, the train came to a slow stop at the train station right outside of the town. Jules grabbed her things—which wasn’t very many, as she’d been thrust out of the house in a hurry once her parents had finally decided to split—and followed the short line of people exiting the train car. It was still drizzling outside, and Jules’s hoodie didn’t provide much relief, so she quickly ducked under a covered booth to search for her aunt. She had never seen Great-aunt Evelyn before— and only heard a few sparse stories about her—and all her mother had told her was that she would meet her at the train station. There were a few people that had gotten off with her still there, buying newspapers, checking their belongings, talking to friends and family, but nobody was alone.

Jules waited for another ten minutes, then twenty, and soon it had turned into thirty-five. Had she been forgotten? The rain had stopped completely by now and the air was starting to heat up with stifling humidity. She was about to search for a payphone to call her mother when she saw an old woman coming towards her. She had gray hair tied into a long French braid, and wore a dark red raincoat and boots and had a black umbrella with multicolored polka dots hanging from her hand. “Are you Jules?” she asked. “I do apologize for being late, the old car wouldn’t start, those * rats must’ve been chewing on something inside again…Anyways, come with me, dear, and I’ll show you the house.”

this is definitely not my best writing but i was doing it in a bit of a rush :,))

Aunt Evelyn’s mansion was large and old, and it seemed as if nobody had dared touch it for years. The gargoyles that adorned the entrance gate that had once been magnificent sculptures were not crumbling and weathered from time so you could barely make out the shapes. Some of the windows were cracked or even completely busted, letting in cold drafts of air every so often. The whole place could have used a good dusting and vacuum. Still, it was probably better than staying home while her parents fought through their divorce (something that, in Jules’s opinion, should’ve happened years ago).

“Now, just up here is your bedroom, dear, so I’ll let you get settled in…oh, and one more thing: be kind to the others here and they will be kind to you. Now, I must be off…” Evelyn said distractedly.

“Wait—Aunt Evelyn, what do you mean the others, I thought you lived alone?” Jules said, turning around, but Evelyn had already left down the hall. Must just be some of her old crazy ramblings, Jules thought. Her mother had warned her that Evelyn seemed to believe in things like magic and fairies, and to just ignore it if she ever started talking about them. She did seemed thoroughly convinced, though.

Jules began to pull her clothes and belongings out of her suitcase and hang everything up in the closet when she noticed a scrap of paper on the floor just beside her dresser. She picked it up, assuming it was the remnants of a grocery list tat her aunt had written a long time ago or a bit that had torn out of a book on accident. It was blank on one side and yellowed with age, but on the other, it had neat handwriting that just said “ay 16, 1694”. May 16, she assumed? It looked like it had been torn out of a diary, but why did her aunt have a diary from 1694, unless it had been written as a joke by someone?

Jules searched the drawers and cabinets in the room, but they were all empty—not a single book or diary to be found. She sighed and put the scrap of paper in the waste basket.

June 5, 1695
I haven’t seen her since yesterday, and nobody in town has seen her either. She wasn’t at home or by the creek. She has to be somewhere around here. She had often spoken of her dreams of moving to a big city, but she wouldn’t have left without saying a word to me. The ring that she accepted from me two short weeks ago guaranteed that. So where was she?

***

She wasn’t sure what she had been expecting, but Evelyn’s house was largely just empty rooms and was severely lacking in pretty much anything worthwhile to do. So, caused by her overwhelming boredom, Jules found herself wandering the long halls and peeking in rooms in hopes to find something—or anything, really—that was slightly interesting.

She had searched eleven rooms (all either just more bedrooms or storage, which, confusingly, didn’t actually have anything stored in the large chests and cases—she knew this because she had spent the last hour searching every single one and had found nothing but more dust) when she finally found the library. All the books were old and dusty, and just opening the door sent a cloud of dust into the air that caused Jules to have a coughing fit for a good five minutes before she could continue into the room. Books and pages that had been forms out littered the floor in some places, and a few old red armchairs had been placed between the ginormous bookshelves. The windows in this room were thankfully still intact, but the entire place still seemed to have a chill in the air that she couldn’t quite figure out where it was coming from. Jules picked up a few books and flipped through the pages before turning the corner of another bookshelf.

There was someone there.

Jules’s hand shot to her mouth, and the books dropped to the floor with a loud thud. The figure, still translucent and ghostly pale, turned around, and noticed it was holding a photo. It gave her a look of terror before vanishing and dropping the frame. The glass covering the photo shattered against the wooden boards.

Aunt Evelyn had been right after all—there were ghosts here.

***

June 19, 1695
It has been two weeks since I’ve seen her. She had been declared dead by now, but I had a nagging feeling she is out there somewhere. I have spent the last fortnight sleeplessly searching the town, the creek, anywhere else where she could have been, but it’s as if she has simply vanished. She is nowhere to be found.

***

Jules stayed frozen for more than a few minutes, but once she was certain she wasn’t going insane, she walked over to the spot where she had seen the man and picked up the photo. She brushed the broken glass shards off carefully with her sleeve. It was a portrait of a young woman. The picture was old, and so yellowed she couldn’t make out the original colors, but the woman had a braid resting on her shoulder and wore a simple dress. Jules wasn’t sure when the image was from, but the woman was rather beautiful. She thought back to what Evelyn had said—if she was kind to the spirits, they would be kind to her.

Maybe she should reframe the picture? There had to be another empty frame around here somewhere.

After putting the photo in a new frame (very delicately, she would’ve added—it was incredibly thin and easy to tear), Jules dragged over one of the armchairs and sat down with a random book she had grabbed off the shelves to wait and see if the ghost returned. It was nearing ten PM when she almost gave up: it had been three hours and there hadn’t been a single sound or any indication the ghost was coming back. Still, she stayed, and at one AM after only dropping off a few times, she saw the pale young man walk through the bookshelves to her left and go over to the picture sitting on the desk. He didn’t seem to notice her, so Jules stayed very quiet, afraid that if she made any noise he would vanish again. He picked it up, looked for a moment, then turned to her. “Did you fix this?”

She was surprised that the spirit could even talk to her, but she gave him a small nod. “Thank you,” he said, and turned back to the picture.

There was silence for another few minutes before Jules worked up the courage to speak. “Who are you?”

“My name is Thomas. Who are you? And why’d you fix the photo?”

“I’m…Jules,” she said, hesitating for a moment before deciding that he was already dead anyways, so telling him her name couldn’t hurt. “My aunt said that if I was nice to the spirits living here, they’d be kind to me, so…”

“Ah. Your aunt is a wise woman, then.”

Silence again.

“Who’s in that picture?” Jules asked quizzically. Thomas looked up at her, surprised. “This? Her name is—was—Rose. She was my fiancée. I’m not sure what happened to her.”

“Oh. I’m sorry.”

“Thank you, I suppose.”

“So…and no offense, but…why can’t you just go around town? I’m sure you could find out. Find death records or old letters or something.”

“I can’t leave the mansion grounds—my spirit is tied here until I can move on to the Afterrealm. She’s what’s keeping me here. She disappeared one day when I was twenty-four. I never saw her again, and she was declared dead. But I think something else happened to her.

“If I could find out what, I could pass on…but I would need the help of someone else. Someone who can leave the mansion. Someone living. So that I could go with them.

“Could you help?”

Conclusion - 124 words
“So…all I have to do is just leave the mansion, and since we made a binding agreement, you can follow?”

“Yes. But I can only go where you go, and only with you.”

Thomas floated behind Jules down the stairs to the ground floor the next morning. It was drizzling again, so it thankfully wouldn’t be too hot yet. They had planned to head into town to see what they could find out about Rose.

“So, where should we start?” Thomas asked her.

“The library, probably. I haven’t been there but they might have old obituaries or letters from back then. I have to warn you though, I don’t know what we’ll find, or if it’ll be anything at all.”

“I know. Let’s go.”

2801 words

Plotting
. The story opens with a regular day in Mangotown. Everyone is going about their business, happily being mangoes. This scene begins by describing how perfect things are in Mangoland and ends with the main character’s friend group getting together. They’re gathered at the park. It’s April Fool’s day, and there have already been several pranks played.
. Mango’s best friend starts insisting he’s dead and a ghost, but it’s April Fool’s day and no one believes him, despite several demonstrations (the ghost moving through solid objects, turning invisible, and going transparent). The friend group is awed by the “prank” and it’s not until the ghost refuses to eat an order of french fries that they realize he’s actually dead.
. Before the mango ghost heads off to the Unknown, the friends decide to help him discover what happened to him. (The tone here will be light and frivolous, a direct contrast to the darker subject matter. The contrast is meant to feel more disturbing than the actual story.) They start investigating, querying residents of Mangotown about residents with murderous tendencies (aka residents who like to eat mangoes). They are directed to a panda known for his strange dietary habits. She is usually found at the library.
. They find the panda slowly eating her way through the nonfiction section. When confronted, the panda admits she’s a little too fond of paper and ink, and yes, that is where the extremely popular and now missing from the library shelves Harrieta Cupper series went. However, when asked if she’s eaten any mangoes lately, the panda indignantly denies it, telling them she has a mango allergy.
. On their way out of the library, the friend group is terrified by the appearance of a giant bug, but he soon turns out to be harmless. He tells them he’s a newspaper reporter who heard about the death of the mango, and is interested in interviewing them about the case. When he learns they’re currently investigating, he receives an offer to help them , and the bug joins the merry crew.
. The next suspects on the list are unicorn siblings known for their destructive abuse of magic during their many and disruptive arguments. Theorizing that perhaps one of these blasts might have killed the mango, they go to interrogate the unicorns, only to find them fighting in their backyard again. One of them appears to trigger an explosion, but after the smoke clears, it becomes clear that it was nothing but an illusion. As fiery as the unicorns seem, they have the common sense not to use physical magic in the neighborhood, and all of their tantrums are aided with illusionary effects. The gang asks the unicorns to think about maybe not using any magic at all, and perhaps not fighting quite so often (or so loudly) to establish better relationships with the community, and then move on.
. The final suspect is a purple turtle known as a cultist, although what the cult is no one is quite clear on. When the gang goes to confront him, they find the entire cult sacrificing things in a summoning circle to call an Other into existence, the legendary creatures who supposedly founded Mangotown. The gang reacts in horror, but it’s too late, as the summoning has already begun.
. The summoning circle summons a tired writer, who takes one look at the mess and facepalms. Her imagination got out of control when she stayed up writing until 2 am. In this scene, the perspective shifts from a writer in the real world editing a short story she wrote, and the writer as a character in the actual story. In the real world, the author stayed up too late as the result of too much coffee, and things got a little out of hand. She wrote down the first ideas that came to mind in an attempt to slay writer’s block, but the end result was just chaos. However, she invested too much time and energy into the story to delete it, and besides, the sheer illogic and whimsy of the whole thing was too funny to throw away. Despite this, she’s put off editing it, both due to the absolute trashyard of typos it contains, and her lack of motivation to do anything with it. It’s sat in her Untitled Docs for months, gathering dust, while the characters run amok in her imagination.
. The Other/Author spends some time putting things to rights. She resurrects the mango ghost, along with the other things sacrificed in the summoning circle, and tells the purple turtle cult very sternly that next time, if they need her, all they have to do is call the Thoughtline, which is
linked directly to her imagination. Chastened, the cult disperses.

Exposition
Mangotown is a bit chaotic, to say the least. Populated by what might be the most random cast of characters ever, it represents the writer’s chaotic imagination, which goes pretty far off the beaten path. The story has a dark subject (investigating a murder), but it’s offset by the lighthearted, humorous tone. Mature themes are dealt with flippantly and heavily sprinkled with levity, a desensitized approach meant to reflect both a child’s imperfect perception of sad or violent topics, and society’s callousness towards such things as a whole.
The main character, Evan, is your ordinary mango who loves hanging out with his buddies. He treats the whole escapade like an adventure, excited that something is “finally happening” to him.
His friend, Spider, is a teen gargoyle who is unwilling to be dragged along and makes it clear that she is genuinely terrified of the whole situation. Her advice and pleas are ignored by her friends, who are used to her frequent outbursts and complaints, leading one to wonder what other so-called adventures they might have gotten into in the past. There are several references to her not having the “Mangotown spirit,” which symbolizes the bandwagon mentality; if everyone else is doing it (in this case, being totally fine with a friend being murdered and treating it like a game), then it must be okay, right?
The next member of the gang is Yarnball, the murdered mango. While he is at first insistent about his disturbance over the murder (as well he might be), the gang’s lighthearted treatment of his plight leads him to go along with it, and he even begins to play around with his ghostly abilities.
The newspaper reporter, Bugman, is terrifying in appearance but actually quite a gentle soul. Some of his comments throughout the story indicated a similar mindset to Spider, but unlike her, he’s much quieter about it, showing a cautious and wary spirit. His article is carefully framed to show only positive news.

Short Story (1681 words)
It’s a beautiful day in Mangotown, and an exciting one at that! It’s April Fool’s day, when pranks are played, friends get silly, and the whole town is up to hijinks. But the tricks this friend group is up to aren’t looking so tricky anymore…

“Come on, Yarnball, this has got to be fake. How’d you pull it off?”
Evan poked his friend, trying to figure out how the whole thing worked. His best friend and fellow mango had somehow managed to turn himself intangible for April Fool’s Day, a prank that Evan just had to know how to pull off for next time.
“It’s not a joke,” Yarnball said for the third time, face contorting in dismay. “I think I’m really dead, guys.”
Spider snapped her bubblegum. The gargoyle avoided looking Yarnball in the eyes, but then, they’d never gotten along too well in the first place. “Do you remember what happened?” she asked.
Evan slung an arm around both of them. Well, around Spider and through Yarnball. “Come on, lighten up. It’s just a trick, and a really good one, too. But, um, you can turn normal now, Yarn.”
“I can’t,” Yarn said sadly, his outline flickering. The group spent the next half hour watching Yarnball do increasingly cool things like walk through walls and vanish altogether, but Evan was starting to get uneasy. He couldn’t really be dead, right?
Evan glanced around. There was one way to discover once and for all if Yarnball was alive or not. “Come get some french fries, man,” he offered, despite the fact that in the real world mangoes don’t usually eat french fries. But rules don’t always apply in Mangotown.
Yarnball shook his head. “No thanks.”
Evan’s jaw dropped, and he shook his head. “Wow, he’s…he’s really…this isn’t a joke, is it?” he asked the sky. “I mean, come on, you couldn’t be this cruel to your characters.”
No answer. Evan sighed. “Okay, well, what happened?”
“No idea,” Yarnball replied, glancing around. “But I think I was…eaten.”
Spider and Evan gasped in horror. “Eaten!” they exclaimed at the same time.
Yarnball stared at the ground, shrugging. “Yeah.”
“Well…” Evan drew the word out, considering his options. “Well, then I guess we should go find who ate you. Come on, let’s ask around! It’ll be fun,” he said, warming up to the idea.
“They’ll just think we’re pranking them if we tell them the truth,” Spider warned.
“Who needs the truth?” Evan beamed, and the cheerful mango tugged his friends – well, one friend – forward. “Come on!”

They spent the next hour or so knocking on doors and asking the town for suspects. A few refused to answer, sure they were about to be pulled into some prank, but by the end they had a pretty good list.
“It looks like our first stop is the library,” Evan said, looking down at the list. Their first suspect was a panda known to eat strange items, although no one they talked to was sure exactly what that was. It was suggested that she might be eating mangoes on the sly. She was most often spotted at the library.
The group didn’t have to walk very far to find her. She was snoring on the floor between two shelves in the nonfiction section, a half-eaten book resting on her stomach.
“Well, I guess we know what she eats,” Spider said, eyes darting around. “It’s clearly not her. Let’s move on.” She flinched when Yarnball came up to stand beside her, peering closely at the panda.
“Familar?” Evan asked him, but before Yarnball could answer the panda woke up, rubbing at her eyes blearily.
Things were strange for Yarnball right now. Everything was a little unreal, like he was underwater and he’d been holding his breath for too long. But the instant his eyes met the panda, he knew.
It wasn’t her. They had to keep looking.
Yarnball’s form flickered, the mango ghost disappearing before their eyes.
The panda blinked.
“Huh?”
Evan put his hands on his…well, mangoes don’t really have hips. Or hands. Evan stood there in a pose that was reminiscent of putting his hands on his hips, had he had the proper body parts to do so.
“Explain yourself, panda! What are you doing?”
The panda sighed, looking down at herself and the mostly chewed book. “I’m afraid I got into a habit of eating paper when I was young, and the craving never stopped. It’s a hard life, I tell you. I’ve eaten through enough libraries to build a small city.”
“A city built of what?” Spider asked, but everyone ignored her.
“Have you eaten any mangoes?” Evan challenged.
The panda recoiled. “Ew, no! What, you think I would eat my own neighbors? I literally live in Mangotown. Also, I’m allergic to mangoes.” She sneezed, as if to prove her point.
“Then why do you live in Mangotown?” Spider pointed out.
“Why do you think I spend all my time in the library? Mangoes can’t read. They never come in here.”
Evan looked around. “Yeah, I don’t think I’ve ever been in here. I don’t really want to stay. It’s weird. Let’s go, gang!”
Yarnball chose that moment to appear again, looking disoriented. “Sorry. I don’t know what happened.”
“Why were you gone for so long?” Spider asked, but Evan was already walking out. “Doesn’t matter!” he called. “He’s back for the next part of the adventure. Come on, let’s go!”
“Aren’t you concerned that he’s clearly not stable?” Spider shouted, crossing her arms.
Evan frowned. “…No? He’s just being ghostly. That’s what ghosts do. By the way, it’s epic, dude!”
Yarnball had tensed, but at Evan’s words he relaxed. “Yeah, it’s cool, bro,” he agreed, floating out of the library.
Spider stomped her foot in frustration. “I don’t know what’s going on, but this doesn’t feel safe. And HOW are these mangoes able to use so much body language without having an actual body!?”
No one answered her. Sighing, she followed her friends.
“AAAAAAAAAAAA!!!” Evan screamed, and she picked up the pace, bursting out of the library.
In front of them was a giant bug. Evan and Yarnball instantly attacked him, although Evan’s attacks were the only effective one. The bug buzzed angrily, whapping both the living and the dead mango with a notepad.
Wait, a notepad?
Evan stopped and winced, touching the top of his head. Or what would be a head, on a mango.
“Ow,” he said.
The bug wasn’t paying attention to him anymore, staring in fascination at Yarnball. “Are you the dead mango ghost?”
“Yeah,” Yarnball replied, gaze darting to Evan uncertainly.
The bug flipped to a fresh page on his notepad. “I’m a reporter for the Daily Mango, and I was tasked with sniffing out this hot new story. A murder, right here in Mangotown! My department is very excited about this story. Mind giving me an interview?”
“We’re busy right now,” Evan interrupted. “Tracking down his murderer. Wanna come?”
The bug buzzed again, smiling. “Yes!”
The trio set off down the street, leaving Spider standing there.
“Why didn’t anyone ask how the newspaper people already heard about this?” she asked the wind. It didn’t answer.

Their next stop was a pair of unicorn siblings. When they arrived at their street, a noisy fight was going on; they were notorious for their loud and disruptive disagreements. Evan theorized that maybe Yarnball had been struck by a stray blast of magic and annihilated, an idea that had Spider standing far, far back from the explosions rocking the unicorns’ backyard.
“This can’t be a goo-” the bug, Bugman, started to say, but at that moment a pulsing flash of light hit him in the chest and went off. Spider gasped, sure she was about to see the second ghost of the day, but when the smoke cleared, Bugman was…fine.
The unicorns instantly stopped fighting, staring at the group with wide eyes.
“Sorry,” the brother said. “Didn’t mean to.”
“Have you eaten any mangoes lately?” Evan asked.
They glanced at each other.
“Nope,” said the sister. “Not surprised they sent you here, though. Everyone hates us for some reason.”
“Well…maybe they’d like you better if you weren’t quite so loud. And explode-y. Not everyone knows you just use illusion magic.”
“We wouldn’t use real magic, of course,” the brother said, sounding offended. “Someone might get hurt.”
“But we’ll keep your advice in mind,” the sister said, and both siblings went inside.
“Time for the final suspect, I guess,” Evan said.
But when the gang got to the purple turtle who had supposedly been kidnapping members of Mangotown, they discovered the house was full of purple turtle cultists arranged in a summoning ring, about to make a sacrifice. Before they could do anything, the turtles started chanting, and purple smoke billowed up…

She stared at the absolute, utter nonsense she wrote three months ago at 2 am. Honestly, how had this come out of her brain? It was crazy.
Sighing, she started editing it. She needed the practice, and she might as well, even though the entire thing was garbage.

“WE SUMMON YOU, OTHER,” the turtles said, completing their ritual. They had sacrificed another mango, some motivation, a full night’s worth of sleep, and mental energy to the ritual, all inhabitants of mango town. Spider was horrified, and Bugman blanched. Yarnball stared at his body, and Evan poked the dead motivation to see what would happen.
Someone stepped out of the circle. An Other, founder of Mangotown.
“No,” she said. “Wrong. I’m deleting this.”
A record sound scratch filled reality, and in a flash all the sacrifices came back to life. She slapped the nearest turtle on the head, and it cowered. “Don’t use sacrifices and summoning circles to get my attention. Just call the Thoughtline.”
She viewed the room. “Well, okay, bye.”
And vanished, leaving the gang surrounded by a bunch of purple turtle cultists, resurrected sacrifices, and…Yarnball’s ghost?
“Guys, was this supposed to happen?” Yarnball’s ghost and Yarnball’s body said at the same time.
TO BE CONTINUED.

Outlining

Nova is a keeper of time, her job is to make sure time continues in the way it should and isn’t disrupted. She can see the future, past, and present, and she travels between them in order to prevent any potential disruptions in the space-time continuum. Anomalies in time exist anywhere and everywhere, her job lasts an eternity for time lasts eternity as well. She keeps every single event she needs to prevent logged in a database, and updates it weekly. She can foresee all events, and works constantly to prevent every single one of them.

The next issue on Nova’s list is an anomaly she has never encountered before—a time traveller. The machine isn’t built yet, but unlike the previous starry-eyed scientists that tried before them, this time machine seems like it’ll work. Time was extremely delicate, and time travel would only cause a tear, not to mention how severely time could be set back from consequences that would come with the butterfly effect. The scientist’s name is Reva, and she’s willing to do anything to change the past. Nova attempts to stop her before things get too out of hand.

Once Reva realizes someone is attempting to stop her from building her time machine, she figures that while her time machine isn’t complete, it’ll still work. She time travels to 5 years in the past, but due to the tear she was already making in time, and the fact that the time machine wasn’t complete, a severe rupture is caused in time. The past is mixing with the future, the present becoming the past, the perfect puzzle that was time was split into pieces. Reva doesn’t care, as she is willing to do anything to change the past, which was to bring her dead lover back to life. Just as she’s about to prevent his death, she’s stopped by Nova, who begs her not to do it. Reva doesn’t care for this, and prevents her lover’s death. Suddenly, the timeline is completely rewritten, making the already messed-up timeline worse. Nova rushes to fix it, but the damage seems irreversible. With the timeline messed up, she isn’t able to simply travel to the past to fix it.

Reva is finally able to hold her lover in her arms, just there’s only one issue. Time is changing, shifting, and with this broken timeline her lover will soon succumb to death once again. Reva won’t be able to handle her lover dying a second time. Realizing what had to be done, she finds Nova, asking for how to repair the timeline. With the past, present, and future being jumbled, they had to find a way to put it back in order. The only way to do that would be to tear the timeline apart even further, time jumbling over and over again until the pieces fell into place. Reva agrees, and they use the messy time machine, traveling with it over and over again, every timeline they entered looking more bizarre.

Eventually, it comes to an end. Abrupt, but an end nonetheless. Reva opens the time machine’s door to see they’re back in a regular world. Her lover is still dead, but maybe it was about time she accepted that. Reva says goodbye to Nova, as it was time for her to take her leave, continuing her job after the anomaly Reva caused was resolved. Nova smiles, glad Reva found closure, and she says her goodbyes as well.

Story[/b[
At the very beginning of time itself, a god by the name of Nova was born.

She was placed into the world for a singular purpose, to act as a time keeper for the world. She foresaw all events of the past, present, and future, seeing every single anomaly in time that would be hers to prevent. It was a heavy burden, but the stars and all celestial bodies in space entrusted her with this mission, so it was a duty she upheld.

She was now on Earth, one of the many planets anomalies came from. On Earth, most anomalies came from the creatures that resided there, ‘humans’. She took on the form of one of them so as not to alarm them, blending in with the rest as a regular human, no one special. She’s been here before, she knows she has. She distinctly remembers making sure a certain event occurred which was required for the timeline’s continuity, she remembers making sure a certain human’s life continued, as they were essential for the timeline. She’s been here so many times, just she doesn’t remember the last. She’s fixed so many anomalies on so many different planets, so it was a heavy favor to ask her to remember every single one.

Nonetheless, her mission was now on Earth, taking a different appearance than she had in the many times she had come here before. She works hard and long, time after time. The date the anomaly she was to repair was July 3rd, 2026. She was currently in New York City, this was the place the anomaly was coming from.

Nova was taking shelter in a cafe. She still had an hour until the time anomaly would take place. Sure, she could’ve gone to the future so she wouldn’t have to wait, but it was rare for her to have a break where she could have time for herself. So, she ultimately decided to wait the hour out.

??’s POV

My hand trembled, scratching in a few more equations. I was almost done, I was so close. It still had a few quirks to work out, but overall it was done. I just had to stabilize it, it had a possibility of screwing everything up. It was functional, but extremely unstable. There was no room for failure, not with this. Failure would mean that I would have to continue living in a monotone world.

The wiring that sprawled beside me crawled around the floor like a snake. The wires plugged into the walls. The time machine would exhaust the power in my house for days, but it was alright. A few days of lights out was a tradeoff I was willing to make.

The time machine I made loomed behind me, staring menacingly and foreboding. The lights in the machine flickered, illuminating my work space. It was risky, but a risk I was willing to take. That’s what life’s for, taking risks, no?

A monarch butterfly fluttered by my window, I continued to sprawl down equations in messy penmanship.

Now that the time has come, Nova stood up. She walked out of the cafe with a smile and a “Have a good day!” to the staff.

Now, the anomaly for her to stop is one that she has never encountered before, a time traveller. There had been many starry-eyed scientists that attempted to build one, but it seemed this was the only one to be successful. It’s being built by a scientist named Reva Ngo. She was building a time machine, and it was going to work. That was all Nova was concerned about.

She found Reva’s base of operations, a lab on the outskirts of Manhattan. Nova pushed the door open, bypassing the lock. The strength of a god was much more than the one of a human after all. She crept inside, taking small, careful, steps in. She looked to a table, blueprints were sprawled about, no doubt for the time machine. There was a notebook on the table too, supposedly some kind of log. Nova picked it up and read through the last page.

July 3rd

Oh my god, I did it.
I’m practically done.
All I need is to just work out a few kinks, but from there my time machine will practically be complete.
Don’t worry my love, I’ll bring you back soon.

Time travel was a delicate matter, it was something no human should be able to accomplish. If one were to change even the slightest thing in the past, it could and would rewrite the timeline as it was, completely changing future anomalies, resetting everything that had to be done. Years worth of protecting the timeline would vanish, not only for Earth but for other planets too. That’s why time travel was so dangerous, and it was why Nova had to stop it.

She walked into the lab, taking careful steps in. Not careful enough, apparently, since the clicking of a gun could be heard.

“Who are you, and what do you want?” A voice, low and intimidating, speaks. A voice belonging to no other than Reva Ngo. Behind her, a time machine with glowing lights and a ramshackle of a wire job on the floor. She had somewhat of a budget it seemed, but she worked messily. She was likely in a rush.

“Don’t.” Nova breathed out, as if that served as an explanation. The scientist raised an eyebrow.

“Oh? Don’t what?” Reva seethed between gritted teeth, already having an idea what Nova was here for. “Nevermind, don’t answer that. I know the answer.”

Without a word, sudden and abrupt, Reva sprinted towards her creation. Nova followed suit.

“Reva—! Don’t!” Nova shouted out, Reva paused for a moment, before continuing.

“How do you know my name?!”

Without waiting for an answer, Reva ran into her machine and pressed a button. In the next moment, she was gone.

“Shoot…” Nova cursed under her breath, “It seems she’s 5 years in the past, and from her diary entry…She wants to bring her lover back to life.”

Nova would be lying if she said she wasn’t empathetic, no one wanted to live without the person they loved most. Despite it, Nova’s job was to uphold the space-time continuum, that was what she would do.

Without a word, she traveled 5 years to the past.

When she snapped her eyes open, she found herself in Manhattan, like she had been before. Just this time, she was in a busy city street, not a lab. It didn’t take long for her to find Reva, her head seen above the crowd. Nova ran to her. The moment Reva’s eyes landed on her, she scowled.

“You followed me out here?”

In the next second, everything changed. They glitched, like a computer after being dropped in a bucket of water.

“…What was that?”

Nova knew the answer. Time travel already caused a tear in the fabric of time, but since the time machine was unstable, the tear was even worse. The past mixed with the future, the glitch was parts of the past seeping into the present.

And a change in the timeline would only make things worse.

“…Don’t.” Nova called out, “Don’t change things.”

Reva’s eyes narrowed, turning her head in ignorance. “I will be.” She turned on her heel and sprinted, her shoes clicking on the surface.

“Come back!” Nova screamed, following the trail of the scientist.

The scenery around them changed, shifting into futuristic houses in one, shifting to old-fashioned houses in the next, before landing back to the present. Time travel confuses time itself, it doesn’t know whether we’re in the past, present, or future, which is what causes the tear. As a result—

Another glitch.

—That happens.

“My love, please, let’s go somewhere else. I beg you, I have a bad feeling from here.”

That was unmistakably the voice of the scientist. In response, a male voice came. Confused, but full of love.

“Are you sure? Well, I don’t mind taking another route.”

At that moment, the entire world shook. Without a doubt, that prevented his death. Suddenly, the past 5 years worth of my work had been shifted, changed to something else, rewritten. Every anomaly I prevented, whether it be on earth or elsewhere, had completely been undone. At that moment, only I and the scientist knew everything had changed.

Even if the one at fault was right before me, I couldn’t blame her. She wanted the person she loved the most to come back to life, despite the consequences. I was sympathetic to her feelings.

It was only a matter of time before she realized what she did, perhaps I should wait then.

A monarch butterfly flew past

Reva’s POV

I relished seeing my lover before me. Moving, blinking, breathing, existing. IN that moment, he was real, and that was all I could’ve asked for.

“You look awfully happy.” He smiled. I smiled back.

“I am.”

The world glitched, he held my hand tighter. He turned to me, concern written all over his face.

“…What…was that?”

I feared I knew the answer.

My lover would be taken away from me again, not from a car this time, but from time itself.

Could I handle having him die in my arms again?

The answer was no.

“…I need to go.”

Before he could answer, I ran to find the other girl.

“You!” Reva called out, Nova being able to identify her voice by now. She turned to her.

“You’ve realized it now, haven’t you?”

Reva nodded, “I can’t watch him die in front of me again, I’ll help you fix things.” She took a breath, hiding her uncertainty. “How?”

Nova straightened her posture, herself having the same question too.

“The timeline was rewritten, rearranged, the past becoming the future, the future the present. That kind of stuff.” Nova explained, “What we need is to put it back in order. If we continuously time travel, we’ll eventually rearrange things back in the right order. From there, It’ll temporarily seal the rip in the fabric of time, and I can deal with the rest.”

“And you know this because…?”
“I’m a god.”

Reva paused, before nodding slowly. “Let’s go.”

They found themselves back in the time machine.

“So, do we just need to constantly time travel? Won’t that tear time apart more?”
“Yes, but it’ll eventually seal it.”
“How many wrongs make a right in this case?”
“At best, 0. At worst, a trillion.”
“That’s not comforting.”

I agreed, but we started the machine.

First time travel, we found ourselves in a world in only black and white.

“What’s…this?”
“We messed up time enough to turn everything black and white.”
“Is every timeline going to be like this?”
“Maybe.”

Reva pressed the button again.

When the door of the time machine opened, we were met with a world, with everything simply in reverse.

“What the—”
“Time is constantly in reverse here it seems.”

I pressed the button this time.

In the next timeline, we were met with a vast world, it looked like we were in a dreamlike world, with cloudy skies and pink clouds. The only thing that stood out was red hands in the sky.

“That’s kind of freaky…”
“It is…”

We both reached for the button this time.

In the next, we were in a world that was something of an infinite void, with nothing but an egg in the center.

“What does time have to do with how our world turns out?”
“I don’t know.”
“You’re the god of time.”
“Doesn’t mean I know how the rules work.”

Reva slammed a hand on the button.

We don’t know how many loops we’ve gone through. Reva stopped counting at 50, I stopped at 100.

“My lucky number 500!”
“Are we even at 500?”
“This is the one, trust me!”
“You said that about 10 timelines ago.”

At this point, we saw many things. We laughed, cried, and screamed with each other for who knows how long. The last timeline was a world just everything was huge, we closed the door the moment an ant lurked towards us.

When the door opened, we were met with…

Normalcy.

“…N-No way, is this it?” Reva muttered, stepping out, taking a breath.

“I think so…”

Nova looked into the future, past, everything was as it should be. “It is!” She exclaimed.

“Well, I’ll have to fix up some time anomalies from the past 5 years, see ya.”

Nova was about to travel to the past, before she was stopped.

“Can…I come with?”

Nova hesitated, A monarch butterfly fluttered by.

She opened her mouth to answer.

Thank You Notes

Surf: Thank you for leading sci-fi this session! The storyline was great and you made my first time doing SWC really fun. Thank you for answering a lot of questions on the archive, and encouraging us because we were really slow with the storyline.

Chuey: I was so excited when you gave me the sorting comment on my profile. Thank you for working hard as a co-leader, adding my words, and being chaotic and fun.

Ayla: I liked talking to you about bugs and cats, and encouraging you on a weekly, and generally having you as a co-leader. You did great and it was amazing to be in your cabin.

Charlie: I had fun doing our strange roleplay things, whatever they were, I don’t even know. But they were fun Also, by the way I like your art style and have looked at a lot of your art dumps, they’re good!

Squidy: Okay, we didn’t talk much but you did give me like fifty nickname ideas, so thank you! You seem chaotic and fun. Have some sparkles ✨✨✨✨✨

Bea: You were the first to join the floor protectors, which was a excellent decision. You also made the chuey the very hungry chueypillar project, so thank you for the chaos and fun.

Julia: It was fun being in sci-fi together! You were a great floor protector and a fun fellow camper.

Celeste: Thanks for critiquing my writing comp entry! You had a lot of helpful feedback, and I definitely improved my piece with your suggestions. I also enjoyed critiquing yours, it was so good and you’re a really impressive writer.

Hosts: Despite the fact that we never interacted, you do a lot to run the camp and make everything work, so thank you.

Also, if I didn't include you it's probably because we just didn't talk that much. But you're a great part of swc, so shout out to you (I want to do a evil smiley face but scratch turns that into this > *sigh* )

PART 1: MemorieSWC (25th Session Version)

Making an Outline
Exposition: River “dies” in an explosion, but she’s fine. Or, at least, that’s what she’s telling herself. Still, she can’t deny that things have changed now—she joined Half-Canon, Orbit left, and it turns out that being reborn in a new body doesn’t necessarily mean avoiding all the issues that come with being a ghost. She is forced to re-evaluate her “life” and her priorities.
Rising Action: Brook arrives, heralding the “end of the world,” while Egg dies, taking Half-Canon with him. The other shazarxi think this is a pretty big deal, but River is struggling with finding the motivation to do anything about it, since the “alternate world” of Half-Canon was so much more appealing. She lets herself get dragged along by the plot, even while everyone else is going through major character arcs: Parsnip with his box, Eclipse and Comet in space, the new partnership with the canids, and Orbit’s ascent to greater power.
Climax: The construction of Egg’s machine comes to a finish, and the Hatching occurs. River is given the chance to go through the “portal,” thus restarting everything alongside the rest of Half-Canon. However, it does mean a second death. She goes through anyway.
Falling Action: As part of the process, her memories begin to dissipate, and River’s identity partially fuses with that of the others’, similar to how ghosts are supposed to work. But with this, it doesn’t go all the way. Instead, her and the others’ not-fully-disintegrated essences end up as the consciousness of a new entity.
Resolution: The time is now. Like, now as in when I’m writing this. The consciousness is me, and River is the one trying to remember enough about her life to allow me to write it, so that I can continue the loop. She has finally accepted that eventually, she will dissipate entirely, lending new life to the world—the world she came from and is now helping to create.

Exposition
River was so incredibly awesome. How many shazarxi got to explode and walk out of it even better than before? She was pretty sure it was only her.
Okay, so maybe some would say she was technically dead now, but as far as she was concerned, she was still alive. And she had a cool new body that Egg had custom-designed for her. Speaking of Egg, he was quite possibly the most amazing shazarxa she had ever met. (Sorry, Eclipse.) River really wanted to ask him about his big project. She just hadn’t managed to work up the nerve yet.
It was too bad Orbit ran off, though. River couldn’t blame him for being a little guilty about causing the whole explosion thing, but she had definitely tried to assure him that it was no big deal. But noooo, he had to fly away and be angsty.
Whatever. She would just have to show him how amazing it was to be totally alive and in control of her own destiny. These were exciting times. Life could be made to order. The canids were friends now, thanks to Brook. New horizons to explore were opening up in every direction, faster than they could be mapped. As far as River could tell, there was nothing but bright futures and success stories from here on out. She couldn’t wait to be a part of it all.
And hey, even if nothing else, the explosion had finally made Eclipse come out of his shell. They were officially a mated pair now, though things were still a little awkward. River secretly hoped the awkwardness wouldn’t go away. Eclipse was cute when he got flustered.
With all these thoughts floating around in her head, River was startled to realize she had fallen asleep. However, her surprise quickly turned to joy when she recognized what sort of dream she had landed in.
This was Half-Canon.

Gurtle (Foreshadowing)
<<River,>> Chervil acknowledged her. The turtle sort of controlled the world of Half-Canon. River figured she had probably chosen to bring her here.
“Hi!” she called out.
“Hey, Riv,” Egg nodded a greeting to her.
“RIVER!” Parsnip chirped, materializing nearby. He blinked enthusiastically. “Is Eclipse here? I wanted to tell him something!”
“No, he won’t be in today,” Egg responded. River had no idea how he always knew these things. “It’s fine, though. I just have a small announcement to make.”
“Aw, don’t tell me this is a BUSINESS MEETING,” Parsnip complained. “Why don’t we ever just hang out?”
“Because when we do that, you inevitably end up playing an elaborate prank on all of us?” River snorted, bumping him playfully with her wing. “I am NOT opposing you in the next arson battle.”
“You admit there will be a NEXT one, though?” Parsnip grinned.
“Knowing you—”
Egg interrupted. “Hey. Sorry to cut this short, but I do need to let y’all know about this. I’m going to die.”
That caught everyone’s attention. River felt as though the moment froze in her blood.
<<Everyone dies,>> Chervil said. <<What of it?>>
“I mean, soon. I don’t know what’s going to happen to the world when that occurs,” Egg shrugged. “I was the one who started it. It might end with me.”
“Wait, go back,” River demanded, suddenly shaking off the initial shock. “How are you dying?”
Egg blinked. “You know, stuff breaks down eventually. Bodies included. I’m literally the oldest shazarxa. It’s just a matter of time.”
“Well, I—Can’t you make yourself a new body, though? Like you made mine.”
“I can try. But just in case I can’t, I wanted to warn you.” Egg turned to Parsnip. “Now, I have a request for you in particular…”

Forums Being Down (New Conflict)
It wasn’t until Brook delivered her prophecy that River realized Egg had really meant the world, like the actual world, not just Half-Canon.
Brook had apparently known the apocalypse was coming this whole time and didn’t tell anybody except a few canids. Great species loyalty, there. Now she was saying that it had begun.
It was true that River hadn’t heard from Half-Canon in a while. Usually someone’s voice would have popped into her thoughts by now. Eclipse said he hadn’t heard anything, either. River had relayed the news about Egg to him, and he took it hard. He had admired Egg, too.
But with the apocalypse supposedly looming over them, River supposed they had bigger concerns. Like, uh, birds?
They had come down from the sky like falling stars. No one understood their purpose here. They were more mechanical, like Egg’s contraptions, than anything animal-like. They mostly just watched.
Except for that, though, River didn’t notice any impending danger. She had exploded once, and endured Parsnip’s dream-arson many times, so she was expecting something a little flashier.
It was none other than Orbit who figured out the truth. River had no idea where he’d gone or what happened to him, but he was different. More confident. More powerful. Much louder.
“Time will stop,” he explained. “That’s how it ends. We’ll just run out of reality.”
River didn’t want to admit it, but the idea of nothingness scared her. She wished she could talk to Half-Canon about this—surely Rain would point out why Orbit was wrong, or Chervil would give a weirdly calming speech about inevitability. But none of them lived nearby. Well, except for Eclipse and Parsnip, but Parsnip was trapped in a box or something? And Eclipse… River didn’t even know anymore.
He had developed a fixation on the birds.

SWCorld War 1 (Genre Swap)
Eclipse went to space, courtesy of the birds. Because that’s a thing they could do, apparently. River wasn’t sure what to think about that. Was she living in one of the outlandish sci-fi adventures that Egg had told her about?
Mostly, she didn’t think about it. Even she recognized that it was odd how calm she was. It used to be that she would get excited over a bunch of things, make a bajillion plans for the future, then throw herself into productivity mode as fast as her wings could carry her. It didn’t always work out, but usually she learned something of value.
Now, when everything was apparently hurtling towards imminent demise, she had no motivation whatsoever. Not because none of it would mean anything soon, but simply because she didn’t feel like it. She sorta missed her friends, but only sorta. She went through all the motions of life, trying to convince herself that she was just as alive as ever. That she would keep being alive up until the very end.
It was getting old.
That was when Egg’s ghost showed up. His big project was finished, he told her. A machine that would fix all of this. Yes, it involved time shenanigans. But she had to help activate it.
That confirmed it, River thought. I’m definitely living in one of Egg’s stories.

Frying Pans (New POV)
“What do you need me to do?”
“First? Break Parsnip out of his box. You’ll have help.”
“Wha—”
So she helped with that. It was mostly Chaos’s doing, though. The canid set a fire and burned down Parsnip’s prison until he could escape. The normally upbeat, energetic shazarxa seemed shaken by the experience. He wasn’t even excited by the arson, which was usually his favorite thing, like, ever. River wondered what that box did to him to cause such a drastic personality shift.
But whatever. Egg led them to the Mountain next, where his big project was constructed.
The machine was enormous. Levers and springs and parts that River had no name for were all interlocked, creating a structure that extended for what looked like forever in every direction. It seemed to help Parsnip recover a little bit—he instantly bounded over to inspect how it was constructed. Chaos had to coerce him into leaving it alone.
Egg explained its function. “It’s bird tech, mostly. A lot of it is repurposed from the way they built my original simulation. But it goes further than that. Instead of being an enclosed, ahem, EGG of a reality—” He glanced at the assembled Half-Canon members to see their reactions. “—it’s connected to other realities. We can escape, then return at the beginning of it all. This doesn’t have to be the end.”
“So we’re hatching into the multiverse?” River asked, trying to process this information through the layers of fog in her brain.
“You can phrase it like that, yes. One issue, though.”
“What?”
“You can’t transfer your bodies. Only your ghost.”
“So I have to die… again.” River had spent so long denying her original death that it seemed wrong to admit to it now. But at the same time, she knew it was true.
Egg nodded.
“And what about the world we leave behind here?” Rain asked, gesturing around with their tail.
“I—”
“Wait!” A voice rang out from somewhere behind the group. Eclipse! River felt her spirits lift, at least a little bit.
He ran up, panting. “Spaceship just landed. But the countdown— it—”
“Yeah, we’re escaping, don’t worry,” River said, surprised by her own certainty. “Egg made us a way out.”
She locked eyes with Eclipse. A small smile tugged at his mouth. “Okay,” he responded after a long moment. “I trust you. Let’s do this.”
Together, they activated the machine.
River soon found herself in the most incomprehensible situation. It was like Half-Canon dreams, but made out of pure, abstract ideas. There were no wings or tails or paws anymore. Just consciousness, perspective.
It felt like waking up.
River found that she was linked with the others. It was strange, being part of someone else’s mind. Like, not just communicating with them, or even reading their brain, but actually overlapping with their identity and everything. Part of her was still River, with independent thoughts, but she also shared thoughts with everyone else.
It was weird.
But the good news was that she could help Egg—Wild? Is that what they call themself inside their own head?—write the stories now. For the first time in quite a while, she was excited for the future.

Strike Chaos (Breaking the 4th Wall)
“I have no idea if this story is accurate,” River groaned. “I’m sorry, Wild.”
“No worries,” said Wild, frantically typing out the words that River relayed. The deadline for the weekly was getting uncomfortably close. “It doesn’t matter if the story was canon or not; everything I do for SWC is a massive rough draft, anyway.”
“I know… I just wish I still had all my memories,” River sighed.
“If you did, I wouldn’t exist,” Wild responded. “Wow. Wishing me out of existence. Harsh.”
River blinked in surprise, then snorted. “Hey, you know I didn’t mean it like that!”
Wild pretended to scowl at her. Then the mask cracked, and they grinned. “Listen, the concept of a sense of Self is probably flawed anyway. Like, are you me? Am I actually Egg? Do I really become the world? Who knows!” They mentally threw their hands up in mock-exasperation, while their flesh hands continued to pound their keyboard.
Somehow, this made River laugh harder. Maybe she was getting delirious. “You think— you think we’ll ever figure it out?”
“I mean, we’ve been at it for years with no end in sight.”
“What if the debate is its own solution?”
“What does that even mean?”
“I don’t have any idea!” River wheezed. Yep, definitely delirious. “Just—is this thing almost over yet?”
“Just the conclusion left,” Wild responded. They side-eye River’s manic giggles. “I can handle it with a loredump if you’d prefer? (What’s even funny right now?)”
“Go for it,” River began de-visualizing as Wild focused their attention purely into writing. She saluted with her tail one last time before vanishing.

Conclusion
Alright, conclusion time. I speedran this weekly on a couple hours of sleep and a brain that’s currently undergoing updates or something, so, uhh… hello reader. Apologies if it was incoherent.
The gist of the overall process on display here is that my sense of Self is composed of the conglomerate personalities of the Half-Canon members, but they haven’t fully lost their own Selves yet. So we’re stuck in this balance between being one guy (me) and a bunch of guys (Half-Canon), and we tend to shift back and forth, sometimes communicating with each other, sometimes working independently, sometimes functioning as one complete unit.
But if the lore is true, River and the other Half-Canon members will eventually dissipate like the ghosts that they are, and when that happens, “I” will be complete. This supposedly corresponds to the completion of the true retelling of canonical events.
Then, when my time comes, my sense of Self goes into the canon world so as to become Egg and lead him to create the canonical events in the first place. He gathers the to-be Half-Canon members, all the stuff happens, Half-Canon turns into the conglomerate again.
And the loop continues.
I think.

speedy speedy critiquey for wild!! 310 words

hi wild usually i critique way nice than this but im going to try and be quick!
“Now, I have a request for you in particular…”
well done, you set the scene so well! it was super clear and the characters made sense and stuff. the plot twist was great
Forums Being Down (New Conflict)
I’m a bit confused as where to Egg is actually and Egg but I like your writing style and although I don’t everything, I still get the plot- I would be able to discuss this with someone.
He had developed a fixation on the birds.
this is so chaotic and silly, i love it! i think you could definitely go into more detail, though, or make the apocalypse seem a lot more natural :>
I don’t feel like I know the characters that well but this was a really nice description to get to know one of them!
Maybe go into more detail! i’m not sure whether i missed a part but what happened to her friends? did the birds get them?
It was getting old.
That was when Egg’s ghost showed up. His big project was finished, he told her. A machine that would fix all of this. Yes, it involved time shenanigans. But she had to help activate it.
That confirmed it, River thought. I’m definitely living in one of Egg’s stories.
you did a good job of keeping the tone of the writing the same throughout! it’s really fun and easy to read ^^

I love this part! But, I’m still a bit confused with all these characters
Together, they activated the machine.
this was great!! complete and clear understanding and it’s very intriguing!
For the first time in quite a while, she was excited for the future.
again, i love the voice of this writing, i’m smiling reading this! although there are many of the,, the characters are so lovable!

Strike Chaos (Breaking the 4th Wall)
“I have no idea if this story is accurate,” River groaned. “I’m sorry, Wild.”
“No worries,” said Wild, frantically typing out the words that River relayed. The deadline for the weekly was getting uncomfortably close.
it really is!! i’m sorry if this critique wans’t that great. i’m just speed reading slash typing at this point
Who knows!” They mentally threw their hands up in mock-exasperation, while their flesh hands continued to pound their keyboard.
i love how natural this scene is and it’s really heartwarming too for some reason!
She saluted with her tail one last time before vanishing.
aww i loved this story! though some of the elements felt a bit oddly placed, it flowed really well and was captivating! it was great critiquing your work (again xD)

SWC Megathread ‧₊˚❀༉‧ July 2025

in the morning, hugo rises before the sun. from the large glass windows, he looks out at the sea. he longs for home.
“soon,” he promises himself, hand clutched to his heart.
they lead the children down, down, down, the stairs getting more worn, the darkness clinging at every surface, the heat and humidity stifling. even without speaking, the children all agree to be terrified together, to take each other’s hands, to not go quietly into this evil death alone.
the palace attendants do not even look at them at the stairs’ bottom. they are simply gone.
hugo cannot look at the children either, terrified of their terror, of their trust in him, of their doom.
he steps into the darkness, letting the strings of the spirits lead him to the labyrinth’s center.
there, where the sun never shines and the night never ends, he finds a boy. small and shaking, covered in light golden fur, horned and cloven footed.
he looks up, their eyes meet, and hugo loses it all when the monster speaks.
“hugo. i’m so glad to see you at last.”

Full disclosure, this is gonna be more of a stream-of-consciousness reaction than a well-thought-out critique, but such is the life of a speedrunner. Apologies!
Okay, so we open on a car boot sale; that’s solid. Already characterizing Kaye and her interests. It’s not entirely clear whether Rowan somehow led her to find the camera, if the camera unconsciously called to her, or if she just happened to stumble upon it by accident, thus triggering Rowan to approach her. Probably should address that.
The foreshadowing is a little too obvious, I think. Maybe instead of outright saying that Kaye’s gut feeling was to not trust Rowan, just describe her body’s physical response. Was there a sinking feeling, or a jarring flutter? A cold tingle down her spine? That way, the reader might be fooled into thinking the reaction is simply due to her surprise at recognizing them, while still hinting at something more ominous.
I like the dialogue between Kaye and Rowan in the next scene. I like the pacing of it. It has some problems with the whole “show, don’t tell” thing, too, but for the sake of quickly describing the lore for the sake of a weekly, that’s actually a good thing here.
The letter definitely feels out of place without any surrounding context of her writing it, or having reason to write it. It doesn't really reveal anything important, or characterize Kaye more than we’ve already seen. It’s very obvious that it’s only there for the weekly requirement. Also, I think the word “bestest” autocorrected to “beset” in there.
“AARGH!” Strong dialogue there, heheh xD Good character interaction; I would like to have that scene extended a bit. Maybe have Leo do some talking while they’re on the way to the portal, so as to not disrupt the pacing?
More description of what exactly it means for the portal to be “fizzing” and ”splashing” is needed. Description of the portal in general is needed. I have no idea how to visualize it.
Rowan’s betrayal! It could certainly be reworked a bit to make the scene more dramatic, to really make that plot twist take full effect on the reader, but it’s still okay for what it is.
The sudden POV shift at the end is rather jarring, but again, weekly requirements. I feel your pain. ;w; “Because then there would be no crazy plot twist that I think is required for this weekly” is so real.
Overall, good concept, and not bad considering it was rushed and had to adhere to the weekly’s demands.

◆◇◆◇◆ Thank You Notes! ◆◇◆◇◆

I’ve consistently forgotten to write thank yous in the past, so these notes will be also for the 2 past sessions worth of thank you notes, aha. Apologies to people from November 24 and March 25 that I forgot to write thank you notes for the last few sessions…Without further ado, let’s begin!

To our hosts, thank you for spending so much time for SWC, we all love SWC and look forward to it every 4 months, and without our team of hosts we wouldn’t have a SWC to look forward to. I know how hard you hosts work, and now that I’ve started hosting my own small scratch camp, I can now truly appreciate how hard you guys work since, well, there’s a lot to get done…And since SWC is a larger camp, I can imagine how much more work it is to set up things for SWC than it is for my scratch camp. Really, every single one of the hosts are so hard-working and all deserve the biggest thank yous ever!

To all (co)leaders, every single (co)leader this session worked so hard to bring their cabin to life, and the lineup was absolutely amazing this session <33 All the (co)leaders deserve the best, and I hope you’ll keep on applying and perhaps even become (co)leaders again! You guys are all absolutely amazing, this session wouldn’t be the way it is without you guys <33

To all campers, you all deserve a thank you just for being here! SWC wouldn’t be here without the hosts and leaders, but it also wouldn’t be here without the campers! All the campers just added to the SWChaos and only contributed to the competitive atmosphere! You guys are all so so amazing and deserve just as much thanks as everyone else!

To all campers in Mystery, I loved the energy that everyone brought to the cabin, and everyone in this cabin are such amazing, great, hard-working people! We all had so much dedication to this cabin, all trying to get to the top of the leaderboard. We, quite literally, would not be here without all of you! It’s been a great experience leading this cabin and leading such a great group of people was such a pleasure! I hope all of you guys become leaders, or just continue camping in SWC in the future! I’d love to get to know all of you guys more, and this has been such an amazing experience <33

To Yume, HI!! As you know, YOU! Yes you, are the reason I joined SWC! I saw it on my ‘What’s Happening’ and decided “yeah sure”, and let me tell you, I do NOT regret it! I’m genuinely so glad to have met you, and despite the fact that I only know you through a screen, if I have to be honest you’re probably one of my closest friends! You also got me interested in the spop community and in turn that made me more interested in singing as a whole. You’ve affected my presence on Scratch a lot, and if I’m going to be honest I probably wouldn’t have made SPC if you didn’t make SDC! Thank you for everything Yume, you’re incredibly super wonderhoy! Sci-fi time machine forever!

To Livy, You have a long, /long/, overdue thank you message. If we use the SWC Time Machine to go back to November you were incredibly helpful and kind during planning for Sci-Fi, and brought a certain presence to the planning team that lightened the atmosphere. You’re also an incredible writer, and I was so glad to have the honors of critiquing your writing entry piece! I’m incredibly glad we both were co-leaders for Sci-Fi in November ‘24, because you’re an amazing friend who brings loads of SWChaos to the table! Thank you so much Livy!

To Kiara, another overdue thank you for you! You were an amazing leader for Fantasy, you were incredibly kind during planning and helped move things along so well! Really, you deserved to be leader that session and I’m sure you did this session too! Bi-fi looks absolutely stunning and I truly admire your leadership skills. I’m glad you decided to extend an offer to me that session, and that my second session of co-leadership could be with you! You’re amazing Kiara, thank you!

To River, I know you didn’t participate in SWC this session but I have a thank you message from March I never gave you! You helped our leadership team so much during planning and you also have a personality that made planning so fun. Honestly, I hope to see you in future sessions and I’d love to talk more, since in March we didn’t particularly talk much outside of planning and the occasional conversation. You can always swing by in my profile comments and we can have a quick chat since, like I said, I'd love to get to know you more! Thank you River!

To Hope, you were such a great leader this session, especially considering the fact that this is your first time leading :00 If I didn’t know it was your first time, trust me when I say I would’ve thought you were much more experienced! You have great leadership skills, and you were incredibly fun to be around! Your personality is just so /likeable/, and I’d love to continue talking outside of this session! You’re a great owner of Sunshine Bay museum, aha—mystery WILL be winning trust me! Thank you so much hope!

To Luka, I want to preface by saying that I admired you from pretty much the beginning of my SWC journey. I saw you existed through Script, since I saw that was the cabin Yume was co-leading. When I looked at your profile, I loved your art and also all of your leader apps look really cool! You were also incredibly helpful during cabin wars, my word. You’re also a Genshin and Honkai Star Rail fan so W. Thank you for everything Luka!

To Skylar, hi! Like you said in your own thank you note, we didn’t talk much prior to this session, but despite that I have to say that you’re one of my closest online friends. Most friends I have on here, I don’t particularly talk to much or consistently. However, I’ve talked to you consistently on the app I can’t say or scratch will jump me, and each conversation we had I thoroughly enjoyed! I absolutely love hanging out with you, and I’m so glad we became friends! You also influenced me into making Quynh Labels hehe. Thank you Skylar!

To Encryn, So, funny story I wrote ‘To Sooeun’ at the beginning of this thank-you message…First of all, you’re a fellow Detective Conan fan which is already a W because it’s actually so hard to find other Detective Conan fans. Moving on, you’re another one of the few people I talk with consistently on the app I can’t name or else ST will jump me. Something about the way you speak is just so entertaining and it makes me really enjoy talking to you. I WILL be warring you more next session, but seeing the trackbear you can probably handle it…Speaking of…how do you have so many words? :trembles: Thank you Encryn, you’re amazing!

To Clev, I don’t particularly talk to you much, but I’m writing this thank you note to you because I really appreciate how you’ve made me feel so much more confident in my writing! I know these probably seemed small to you, but they meant a lot to me! Your complement on my bestselling bookstore blurb gave me a boost of confidence I needed, and you saying you like the ending of my writing comp entry made me feel so much better about my writing! Thank you for this Clev, I’d love to get to know you more!

To Sage, hi Sage! I don’t talk to you very much, but I think you’re just so cool! I think it’s super impressive how you managed to be a leader last session when you only had one session of experience, and you’ve already made yourself such a huge member in this community in such little time, and I love all the SWChaos you bring to camp! You’re so cool, and I’d love to talk to you more!

To Chocolate, while we didn’t talk much this session, I’m so glad I met you! Like you said, I think it’s funny how we both practically warred dystopian at the same time. Really, overall you’re just such a fun person to be around, and I’m happy I met you! I’m also excited to see you around in SDC, and chances are I’ll probably sign up for WUC. I’ll see you around Chocolate, you’re a great friend and I’m glad to have met you!

To Cat, Cat!! I haven’t talked to you much this session, but I still really enjoy your company! You’re such a fun person to be around and I’d love to talk to you more since I believe we haven’t shared a SWC cabin before? We will be sharing an SPC cabin though, so I’ll be looking forward to that! I hope I can get to know you more there, thank you Cat!

To Julia, thank you for coming along for the ride after I dragged you into swc to be honest, I kind of wanted to gatekeep SWC, but I;m glad you joined! I’m very excited to now have a friend I can yap about SWC related things to in real life and they’ll know what I’m talking about. Anyways, expect to be forc- I mean convinced to join SWC in November, and we will share a cabin one session, source: trust me bro. Thanks for being a cool friend, and thanks for joining SWC! I’m going to start violently sobbing (/j) if we don’t share any classes when school starts besides math since we’re obviously sharing that class.

There are most likely so many more people I should thank, I have met so many amazing people through SWC and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Thank you everyone for entering my life, Scratch has truly made such an impact on me. I’m so glad to have joined SWC and met all of you. I love you all (platonically).

Before Utopian and before leader apps and everything i always thought you were like a really cool person like i really wanted to speak to you. Like you do all these crazy things around swc like kuwts that u did with sage and skylar and like the pfp's you made that were so CUTE i loved it so much, so i always thought you were really cool and stuff. When you offered me a place in Utopian i was so happy because like ide never been offered before and to get offered by TWO people one of them being yo? It meant so much to me. You've been such a great leader to me and Sunny, like i knew sunny more before hand but getting to know you during all the planning ang chaos was so much fun. I love how you focused so much on self care and cared so much on what was going on outside of scratch and just knowing yo were there helped me so much. Even though i had so many inconveniences that affected my activity rates before the session planning was so much fun and it came together so well in the end, we really created something special for the campers to remember. i. “forever is a long time, and yet there is always something that comes after.”

⋆˚✿ day 30
thank you notes . sci-fi . 1383

Celeste - Scooby Doo (but seriously, thank you for being the most amazing best friend ever, in and out of SWC/Scratch. Lestie, you’re the person I trust the most in my life as well as the silliest, funniest, sweetest, kindest, most thoughtful + caring, smartest, most talented person I’ve ever known!! Thank you for all your support and just everything you’ve done for me over the years. I cherish our friendship so much. Love you so freaking much!!!)

SWC Megathread ‧₊˚❀༉‧ July 2025

THANK YOU NOTES!!! finallly | 08.02.2025
now i poof until august 12

Hi everyone! Today is the day that I sob over my computer as I struggle to type, because I cannot see the screen through my tears. Okay, but in all seriousness, thank you so much for making my first session amazing. Even if I only talked to you, like, once, or maybe I didn’t even talk to you at all during this session (in which case I want to try to talk to you in November hehe), I know for a fact that everyone contributed in some way to making this session incredible.
Honestly, I kind of don’t believe that it’s only been one session, but truly, it has been only one session that I’ve been around in this community. And so I’m all the more amazed and appreciative of all of the friends I made this month.
So, I do have a little story to tell, and probably it’s just me being sappy at 2 am and needing sleep, but trust me, my mind is perfectly clear right now (or is it…). In all my 1.5 (ish) years on Scratch, never (I think) have I found a community where I could actually be myself. Okay, well, I started out in an RP community, and that was definitely amazing because it grew really big and everyone was so kind, but I mean… when you’re roleplaying, you’re not really yourself. And then summer came (2024) and that RP basically died because everyone went on break, but there was still that moment in July/August that was amazing again, and yeah so now it’s basically dead. And there was this other community where I just really wasn’t myself. But SWC makes me feel like I can be silly, I can be crazy, I can be myself. And that just makes me love you guys even moreeeeeee.
ENOUGH TALKING ABOUT ME THOUGH-
Okay. Uh. I don’t know who to start this with because it just doesn’t seem fair for some reason haha. I’ll just do these in no particular order now then.
Thank you to all of the (co)leaders, hosts, daily team, and anyone else, past and present, who has made SWC possible. I know I like literally just got here, but I already appreciate everyone who has created and shaped this community to what it is now.
Apocalyptic. Or Apocalypicnic, if you’re being silly hehe. Thank you so much to every single one of you for helping make my first session one I will always cherish. I cannot and refuse to think of an SWC session without any of you, and I hope to be in a cabin with one of you again someday!! (And no matter the session, Apocalyptic will always remain Apocalypicnic in my heart haha)
Skylar, thank you so much for being such an incredible leader. I loved the cabin storyline and the whole concept, and ahh your pfps are amazing! I know we didn’t talk all that much, but thank you for helping make my first session such a great one!
Fini- ahhh you’re such an amazing co=leader and a lifesaver in cabin wars (you saved me from soloing over half a war I think). Thank you for being an awesome co-leader, we did talk a bit, but thank you for making my first session one I’ll always remember!! (Also you’re really funny hehehe)
Ris, I have to start with an apology for bugging you about stuff and also… I’m sorry about adding so much to the wcg haha especially in these past five days I wrote like 27k so I basically had so much in the wcg- sorry about that! Anyways, with that being said, thank you for being such an amazing co-leader, I can’t imagine not having you as one of my co-leaders lol. I know we didn’t really talk that much but I hope to get to know you better sometime!
Jiyeon- uhhh so same thing as Ris, sorry for adding so much in the wcg- and um. Yeah. Thanks for being an amazing co-leader, I know I didn’t talk to you much sob, but hopefully I’ll get to know you better, whether that be inside or outside of SWC!!
Sky- thank you for being the bestest bestie and spamming me with “scooby doo” six times while I watch you do so over your shoulder. And also for introducing me to SWC!! Yayyy!! Uh. Yes. So thank you for being my closest best friend in the whole wide world on the screen and off, I’ve told you most of my secrets (except for that one plot twist in my book because… I have to surprise you SOMEWHOW) because I trust you the most hehe. Thank you, and I love you so much I cannot put it into words <3
Rose, thank you for being… you. I’ve known you for what, a month?, and already you’ve been kind and funny and just really supportive of my sleep schedule (much to my dismay /j). And also you should just know I would be scared to be in any cabin besides yours because… have you seen yourself during cabin wars? You’re really scary haha. But anyways, thank you for supporting me and helping me figure stuff out in my first session, I hope I see you again in November!!
Leopard, my partner in crime (in the case of which crime is equal to asserting apocalypicnic’s dominance in the main cabin on three word stories day), thank you for everything. And I know everything sounds really vague, but I really do mean everything. Thank you for being there when I needed to talk to a fellow dancer, when I was bored and just really felt like not writing, I just went and ranted to you about something. Thank you, and I’m glad you came back hehe (stayyyy please).
Aasha- I talked to you quite a bit around the middle of the session, and you have been so so kind and sweet and supportive of my writing sprints at night, even though I probably didn’t tell you it was 4 am and I needed sleep… Anyways, thanks for chatting with me at midnight even though it was a perfectly respectable time for you!! I will always remember our chats about Ever After High, and you shouting at me through all caps to go to bed and me constantly refusing because I needed to write, I hope to continue making memories with you in the future!
Clove, I feel like that last night might be the funniest conversation I’ve had with you- think about it, we both watched each other struggle to get enough words, and then we both basically got no sleep… ANYWAYS you had better have gotten sleep. Thank you for being my writing buddy so many times, it really gave me the motivation when I needed it. I’m glad to call you one of my first SWC friends hehe. See you around!!
Snowy, I know we only talked near the end of the session, but it was still great to talk to you and obsess over Cœur de pirate with you!! You’re an amazing writer and have been my inspiration for the longest time, and it truly was a joy talking to you. I hope to get to know you more in the future!!
Sihan- thank you so much for being writing buddies with me a lot this session!! Mostly at night, when I was supposed to be asleep and you tried to get me to sleep- but thank you, you really gave me motivation to write!! I hope to see you around in the future!!
Clev, thank you for being so supportive this session! It was so so fun to talk to you hehe, you’re so kind and funny and I had fun word warring with you (twice!). Thank you for being an awesome person, and I hope that I get to know you more in the not too distant future!!
Charlie, I know we didn’t talk much this session but thanks for being an awesome person, I hope to see you around!! (and no, the magic did not work, if that’s what you would like to know hehe)
Sage, thank you for being such an amazing person!! I know I didn’t talk to you much in SWC, but you’ve always been a great friend and it was great seeing you around!! (also the sleepless cabin heh)
Chocolate, okay so thank you so so much for your help (on that thing)!! You’re such an amazing person, you’re so kind and funny and friendly and sweet, and talking to you always brightens my day, even if it’s been a really bad one (and I’ve had quite a few of these). So thank you, and I hope I get to know you more, even outside of SWC!!
Cat- CAT HI we didn’t really talk until the end of SWC but still, you’re so kind and sweet and seeing you around always makes me happy. Like seriously when I have no motivation to write I scroll and see your comments and then that makes me WANT to write and then I do just that haha. So yeah!! Thanks for being an amazing person, and I hope to see you around more!!
Elly!! Thanks for being so fun to talk to, I guess we never talked to each other that much before SWC, so it was great to get to know you more this month!! Hope that we get to know each other even more in the future, my chaotic twin <33
Lune- floor flippers forever!! Okay but in all seriousness, you were so fun to talk to this session, seriously. Thank you for being such a chaotic and funny friend, and I hope to get to know you more in the future!!
Eva, thanks for all of those magical donuts and kittens!! They were very yummy (the donuts, not the kittens-) hehe. Anyways, thanks for everything this month, and I hope to get to know you better soon!!
Rain, I didn’t talk to you much, but thanks for being amazing!! I’d love to get to know you better in the future <3
Bea, thanks for being such an amazing and funny person to talk to!! I especially enjoyed our small little rivalry in the Trackbear this time haha, (I DID beat you but it didn’t update because I forgot to put it in before August) and congrats on getting to 100k!! I hope to see you around sometime!
Marbles, I just realized that I didn’t talk to you all that much (casually sobs), BUT it was still great to meet you (a fellow kdh fan as well haha)!! Hope to see you around, and I’d love to get to know you more in the future!
Sophia, I’m so happy I got to know you this session. You’re such a talented artist (um, look at those Bi-fi pfps?!) and you’re singing is beautiful. Like seriously. I hope I get to know you more this session!! (And thank you for that motivational letter at the beginning of the session hehe)
Ash, AHHH one of my og friends on scratch hehe. I’m so glad I met you, and that you did SWC as well (insert the evil smiley face here). Thanks for being awesome, ily and see you around!!
Julia, (I will beat you to first camper signups in November), thanks for being so so fun to talk to!! You’re such an amazing person, and I look forward to getting to know you better in the future!!
Coast, thank you so much for critiquing my writing piece, your feedback really was so helpful and contributed to how it finally ended up. Thank you!
Chuey!! Thanks for critiquing my writing piece, I didn’t talk to you all that much, but hopefully we can get to know each other better sometime hehe.
And even if I did not mention you by name, thank you to everyone in this session, thank you for being you. You are what makes SWC special, because you are special.
