This announcement states that a new button will be added to the project page: “Set Thumbnail”. My suggestion is to also make this button available in the project editor page. This would allow users to set their project's thumbnail while in the editor, without having to click “See Project Page” first.

My first idea was to add it to the header, but there doesn't seem to be enough space due to the Tutorials and Debug buttons, so it could instead be added above the stage, next to the stage size buttons.

I like that idea; since I think it would be easier to be in the coding range so you could fix the thumbnail if something went wrong, instead of having to go back into the project, fix it, and go back out.

I don't know why nobody has mentioned this yet, but shouldn't the button be purple like everything else? It's weird that in the screenshot it had the old blue colour.

I both don't see any reasons against this (other than it takes dev time to implement), or any real reasons for it either- just go to the project page. It takes one click, and besides, most people wind up visiting the project page of their projects to write the description and notes and credits, and potentially turn off comments.

I do think that it might actually be a bit of an issue for tablet users if it were added to the editor, as it can already be kind of hard to tap the stage size settings on smaller tablets, and adding another button to that area (especially when the stage is set to be small) for more space to code in) could result in a lot of accidental setting thumbnails.

Although that also does bring up the point that when the stage is set to its smallest setting there isn't really room for a button of this size in between the stop button and the stage size buttons.

The button would only be visible in large stage size.

My suggestion is to add a new button in the editor, without removing the one in the project page. Maybe the one in the project page could also be moved to a better place, but that's another suggestion

Wait, so you're saying you can't use the button in the editor? Then what's the point of adding the feature in the first place if you can't take an exact image of a project when certain scripts are in action?

I have no idea if you can't use the button in the editor yet, but you could just stop the project, go to the project page, and then click the button.
Also, the point of the feature was to reduce costs
