Ok, I got some basic anti piracy up and running. https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1201004472/Well, we will have two save codes, one for the profile, and one for story mode. Both of them will have the user's name in the code. If the name doesn't match with the user's name, anti-piracy triggers. But, there is the possibility of the user just changing the name. I don't quite know yet how to solve this for the profiles (maybe some funky incription), but I have a good idea for the story mode. When the user creates a profile, it will randomly generate a 13 digit verification code and add it too their profile save code. Then, we put in the same v-code when someone makes a story mode profile. Then, when someone signs in, it makes sure that the user's v-code is the same as the one in their profile. If it isn't then it is not their code, and we begin messing with those cheaters. We also hide the v-code in just a wall of numbers, making it hard to find. It is technically possible that two profiles could have the same v-code, but the odds of that are really low. You are more likely to walk on the bus and sit next to your doppelganger than share the same v-code as someone else.Do you have an idea on what we could have for our anti piracy screen? How will we detect anti piracy?

It doesn't work that great, but this isn't the final project so it doesn't matter.
The real question is, what do we do when we detect anti-piracy? I will pull some inspiration up from fake anti-piracy screens, as well as real ones.
Mario Party DS: When you go to the item shop, Monty Mole says he doesn't serve criminals and eats you. It then cuts to a screen with creepy music where Mario and others are on the bottom and in jail, and the top screen says “Piracy is no Party”.
Mario 64: As soon as you turn on the game, it cuts to a screen with a creepy picture of Mario sitting on the N64 logo with a citation and a terrified look.
Nintendogs: Everything works how it should for a few hours, but then, your dog gets sick and dies. The game says that Nintendogs can only survive in legitimate DS cartridges, and it shows your dog's grave.
New Super Mario Bros. You play the game as normal until you are about half way through 1-1. Then you freeze and Bowser teleports in front of you. He calls you out on being a pirate and has something special for you. A thwomp then appears over your head and the screen cuts to black. All you hear after that is an infinite loop of Mario screaming and a shaking sound.
Mario Kart Wii: The game starts as normal, but then, during a race, you are teleported behind the cage in Bowser's Castle 64. You watch the racers for a moment, then the thwomp back there with you randomly smashes you.
Mario Galaxy: As soon as you turn on the game, you are teleported to an island far away from everything. You are then forced to watch another Mario do the journey instead of you.
Ocarina of Time (real): The whole game, Zelda has really bad hair, but at the final boss, you are stuck behind a gate and can't move on. You are stuck, and Ganon eventually kills you. (is the downfall timeline the pirate route?)
Twilight Princess (real): Midna refuses to help you and leaves. You are stuck in a dungeon as a dog forever.
Spirit Tracks (real): When you go to the train station, Link jumps on the train tracks during the cutscene. And well….
Crysis Warheads (real): All your bullets turn into chickens, which do 0 damage in a shooter game.

I found this a little while back on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dL9gUli_7L0. Recap, if you want scary anti piracy, you gotta have dark and overall creepy visuals, threatening music and/or text, or just no music whatsoever. This video is also helpful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wUUZFu0YmXw

Yes, well it was a big trend, these are just the ones that I remember seeing. All I for sure don't want to see is the glitch effects other than that wii sound because it is absolutely terrifying. We also have to make it in a way that won't get taken down by the ST.

I got good news and bad news.
The bad news is that my job starts tomorrow.
Thee good new though is that I finished the first draft of my book! So now for the next 2 months or so I am somewhat free to work on this.
