◆◇◆◇◆ EVIDENCE 2: MOTIVATIONAL MESSAGE ◆◇◆◇◆
Welcome to the first point-earning daily of the session—today, we’re going to send each other a bit of extra motivation as we prepare for the session. Post a couple of your goals for the session in the comments here, choose someone else’s goals, and then write them a related motivational letter or note of at least 250 words. Upon successful delivery of your letter to its recipient, you’ll earn your cabin 150 points.

for @booklover883322!

Hello Bookie! If I’m going to be honest, I haven’t actually talked to you much, but I’d love to get to know you more! Let’s take a look at your goals, and why I think you’d definitely be able to achieve them!

1 ) Reaching 20,000 words may seem like a lot at first, but if you do the math you have to write about 645 words a day, and it’s likely that on certain days (like cabin wars days or just when your writing juices are flowing!) you’ll write enough for multiple days! It may sound like a lot at first glance, but in theory it should be pretty simple to reach your goal by the end of July!

2 ) I get it, co-leading can be stressful, I’m a co-leader too. Really, you totally got this with prioritizing it and helping plan the cabin! To be honest, all you really need to do is hop on Scratch, open the planning forum, and give your two cents on what you think you should do with the cabin, wait for a reply, and then repeat! Co-leading can be very stressful but I’m sure you’ll be able to prioritize it! Fantasy already looks amazing!

3 ) I think this is something all of us struggle with aha—first of all, a way you can make sure to prioritize health is to only write AFTER getting life stuff done. Like, say I need to work on summer math stuff, I’ll work on that for a few minutes and then write for a few minutes! Basically, after getting some life stuff done, you can get SWC stuff done, and then rinse and repeat. Life should always go before SWC, and chances are you’ll still have lots of SWC time after life! I struggle with this too at times, but I believe that both of us will be able to figure it out!

4 ) Honestly, this goal is pretty easy. All you really need to do is WRITE! (which…obviously you were already going to do.) I think especially on cabin wars days is when you’re going to be able to write more on your OCs. I want to do this too and really, I just open up the doc, play some music, and get writing! You’re already planning on writing, so if you want to work on writing stuff for your OCs, write stuff for your OCs! Really, with the right motivation and ideas (which all SWC-ers are granted with ofc) it should be a breeze to get it all done!

5 ) I too want to work on my novel! I think we can use the same logic I did on the last one I can use here, you’re always going to be writing, so I’m sure you’ll be able to make some of that writing towards your novel! Really, I think the best way you can make sure to get everything you need to get done, done, is to time yourself. Set a timer for 15 minutes for SWC activities (dailies, weeklies, etc.), 15 minutes for OC writing, and 15 minutes for novel writing. Of course, you can adjust these times however you’d like but I think this is a good way to get everything you want to get done, done. I’m sure you’ll be able to work towards your novel (and I need to do that too ahaha)!

A lot of these goals are similar to my own, so I just thought of how I’d go about achieving my own goals! I’m sure that you’ll be able to achieve all your goals this session Bookie! I have tons of motivation mangoes for you!

Hello, @EvaEvergreen! Here's your motivation! (Goal for motivation letter: 500 words)

Well, you really got your work cut out for you! You're trying to be very consistent and I look up to you for that! Also, why are you low key so relatable? Like, yes, I also forget to submit my points, and I tip my hat to you for that. Either way, time to get MOTIVATIONAL.

Don't pull a Tally Hall. Do you know what Tally Hall was? They wrote 2 BANGERS of an album then peaced out like they didn't matter, and YOU DON'T DO THE SAME!!! I'm going to enjoy seeing your face around, and you're GOING TO PARTICIPATE!! YOU HEAR ME!?!?! Come on! Don't be a band that neglected their fans for over 13 years, help us, we're underfed, anyways, you wanna be the writer that fed their readers GOOD CONTENT and continued to be a shining light even in a vast moment of darkness! WE NEED THAT FROM YOU!!! Remember to be here daily and I will actively remind you! I will be at your home with a job application and a mean look on my face if you don't do your dailies and I will make sure you're being healthy too! I will make sure YOU'RE TAKING CARE OF YOURSELF!!

LET'S GET WRITING! LET'S PICK UP THAT PENCIL! WOOHOO! Is this working? because I'm just filling up words at this point, LOL, this letter is NOT formal at ALL. And here I am typing like I'm going to be stolen if I don't… ACTUALLY… MWEHEHEHE I WILL STEAL YOU IF YOU DON'T DO YOUR WEEKLIES, EVA. HOW ABOUT THAT? And the Bi-Fi cabin? Awesome. Come on, you gotta win for your cabin! They're relying on you and you deserve that reward of bragging rights! I will actively let you rub it in my face that we lost and you won, like honestly. Wouldn't that be fun? So basically, all you gotta do is your dailies and weeklies, but even then, we ARE NOT DONE!!

You gotta REDEEM YOUR POINTS!! That is the NUMBER ONE THING you gotta remember! I promise you, once you redeem your points, you're going to feel so good and everything is going to be amazing and you're going to love life. I swear, once you redeem your points, YOU WILL LOVE LIFE. I'm being 100% honest when you find out that your cabin wins by one point because YOU REMEMBERED TO REDEEM YOUR POINTS!! Wouldn't that be absolutely peak? Of course, it would, why would it not be? You're awesome, Eva! Don't worry about it, because you're going to remember. If you don't, I WILL YELL AT YOU!!! I will go ape-crazy on you because you can't do your dailies because you FORGOT TO LOG IN!! REMEMBER TO LOG ON, FRIEND!!! You're going to do absolutely great, and I promise you're perfect!

ARE YOU READY TO GET JAAAAAACKED??????? I MEAN WRITING??????? ALRIGHT!! LET'S GO!!! SCRATCH WRITING CAMP! WOO BABY! AIGHT THAT'S ALSO 500 WORDS, YOOOOO!!!

daily 02
“ I have not written a single original drop of writing since last March, where I dropped SWC due to outside stresses in my life. Now I feel like I have a lot of feelings building up from the last few months that need to come out or be incorporated into writing. I am hoping I can at least write a piece I am proud of. An original piece that helps me get out what I need to. But I don't know where to begin or where to pick off after so much time gone.” - 0lympiic

Hey Oly! Please excuse that I am in no way qualified to be giving advice to anyone, but for the sake of the daily and helping a fellow camper out, I shall try. First of all, I one hundred percent hear you regarding the writing hiatus. Too many times have I dropped writing for weeks or months due to various forces or just a general lack of motivation, but luckily, the most difficult part is writing that first paragraph or that first page, but then once you're back in the groove and a better headspace, writing becomes so much easier. Imagine how satisfying it will be to finally sit down and write a story or piece you look back and feel fond about. Imagine the ease that will come after incorporating your various feelings into your writing. The feeling of getting out your feelings in the form of words or storytelling is beautiful, and I'm cheering you on in your goal to accomplish just that! Succeeding in putting some of your feelings and/or emotions into your writing always brings a boost of serotonin and may even feel like a weight lifted off your shoulders. I also totally get not knowing where to start so I'm not sure how much motivation or advice I can give you there, but maybe try a brain dump and see where that takes you! Again, wishing you luck in your goal and sending you infinite motivation and support!! If you end up writing anything and want to share it I would also be delighted to give it a read, best of luck! 268 words

    1k Word Intro.
Hello!!! My name is Kenzie (she/her), but I’ve also been called Kenz, kumquat, mac and cheese, and more! I live in the CST timezone :zany: For those who don’t know me: I’m homeschooled, a Christian, a teen, a high schooler, a hugeee bookworm, a writer, an oldest sibling, a volleyball player, and more!

I’ve been homeschooled since I was in first grade, and as of right now I’m going into 10th grade next year so that means I’ve officially been homeschooling for almost 10 years! My favorite part of homeschooling is the flexibility. I can meet up with friends, I’m not pinned down by schoolwork, and I can go at my own pace. There isn’t much that I dislike about homeschooling, but I don’t really like how I’m at home a lot. I love when I get the chance to get out and about.

I’ve been a bookworm for as long as I remember. I can think back to when I first started learning how to read in kindergarten and reading those books about the square man and triangle lady that were different colors, I forgot what their names were. In elementary, I enjoyed reading Harry Potter, the fairy magic series, Magic Treehouse, Boxcar children, and more!

Now that I’m in high school, I mainly read YA. My favorite book genres are Christian fiction, fantasy, and dystopian. My favorite authors are Nadine Brandes, Patrick Ruthfuss, Sara Ella, Kara Swanson, and David Eddings. My favorite book series are Nevermoor by Jessica Townsend, The Kingkiller Chronicles by Patrick Ruthfuss, The Belgariad by David Eddings, The Curious Realities by Sara Ella, The Ravenwood Saga by Morgan L. Busse, and possibly more that I can’t think of. I read a mix of online and physical, depending on what is most convenient.

I’ve been interested in writing since about 2020, when I joined a writing class, and now I even want to be an author! I’m still trying to discover what genres I like to write in, but currently I enjoy real-fi, fantasy, and sci-fi. My dream one day is to write a whole book and publish it!

This is my 9th session of SWC, which is crazy! I think this will be my 43rd time campering in a Scratch camp. I’ve participated in every SWC session since November 2022. This will be my first time being in the classics cabin, and I am very excited! So far, my favorite session that I have participated in has been March 2023, and my least favorite has been July 2023. My favorite memory from SWC is either meeting ris, causing chaos, the goodbye birdi collab, or spending time with friends! The session where I wrote the most words was March 2025. I’m very proud of that session. I wrote almost 25k!

I joined scratch back in January 2022, originally because I wanted to learn how to code and I happened to find it on google. Then in October, I discovered SWC! And I’ve been in the community ever since. I have about 50+ accounts, which is a lot, but most are deleted.

My plans for the summer involve a lot, from church camp, a cabin, SWC, and a mission trip. In the beginning of June, I went to church camp for a week, came home for the weekend, went back for a week and worked in the kitchen because they had too many assistant counselors and didn’t need my help in a cabin, and then came back home.

Then just this past week I went on a mission trip with my youth group and we stayed at a local college. We had a very small group, with nine kids and two adults. For the first half, we learned about the local community, served two organizations, and went to try some new food from other cultures! Then in the second half, we led the middle school campout for our church. We each led a meal, lesson, and activity! There was also a storm on the last night and we had to herd 60+ people to the bathrooms to take shelter :sob:

Next Sunday, I’ll be heading to church camp again for a week, go to a concert over the weekend, go back to be a camper, come home for the weekend, and go back for two more weeks of being a counselor! Then right at the beginning of august I’ll be staying the weekend for a staff only weekend and then I’ll be going to my cabin up north for a week. And I’ll do a final week of camp and that’s how my summer is going to be! It’s going to be very busy, but I’m excited.

After the last week of camp, I’ll have a few weeks before we start school up again. At my co-op, I’ll be taking eight classes! I’ll be taking psychology, a bible study class, volleyball, home economics, human anatomy, a coding class, an art class, and speech. I don’t know what I’m most excited for, because I’m excited for all of them! I’m excited for psychology because it sounds really interesting, I’m excited for the bible study class because it’ll be really fun and a boy I like is in it hehe, I’m excited for home economics because It’ll have some cool skills, I’m excited for volleyball because I’ll have lots of friends in the class and it’s really fun, I’m excited for human anatomy because it sounds like fun, I’m excited for the coding and art class because they’ll both be fun, and for speech I get to wear formal clothes whenever I have to present!!!

In the fall, my schedule will basically be on Sunday, I'll have church and then a Christian girl scouts sort of thing. Then on Monday I’ll have co-op and a Bible study. Then on Tuesday I’ll have my co-op. On Wednesday I’ll have a youth group. On Thursday I’ll have a co-op. And that’s about it so far! At home, I’ll have math, language arts, history, and possibly more.

My hobbies that I enjoy doing are reading, writing, playing with my dogs, listening to music, crochet, and more!

I have two dogs. They are both German shorthaired pointers and their names are Skye and Brownie. Skye has a bossy personality but she’s very sweet. She lovesss playing fetch with tennis balls. She’s five years old, we got her during covid! Brownie is our other dog and she’s the same breed. She is very very very hyper and can jump very high. She’s three years old.

I also have two brothers, whom I love very much even though they can at times be very annoying.

I love listening to music!! I mainly listen to Christian rock, Christian pop, and a bit more. Artists that I enjoy listening to include Relient K, Claire Leslie, Allison Eide, Switchfoot, PFR, Audio Adrenaline, Skillet, RIDERS, LOVKN, Strings and Heart, Family Force 5, ISLY, JJ Heller, Josiah Queen, Madison Ryann Ward, Miss Angie, Sixpence None The Richer, and Taylor Armstrong.

I know some piano basics. Someday I want to learn guitar.

My favorite movie is The Princess Bride! I’m not sure what my favorite tv show is, I don’t watch many tv shows honestly.

For video games, I play Star Stable Online and Minecraft mostly! There’s a lot of board games that I love, specifically Life, Sorry, and Monopoly. I have recently got into playing card games. The ones that I play most of the time are Go Fish, Trash/Garbage, and Golf (or an alternate version, Flog, made by my cousin).

When I’m older, I want to be a homeschool mom, an author, and something in the STEM field! I don’t know what exactly I want to do in STEM, but I really enjoy coding, technology, and math!

I’ve been playing volleyball since 2023. My mom wanted me to join a team related sport, so she suggested volleyball and I took a camp! I’ve also been taking volleyball classes at my co-op.

My mom also suggested that I should join robotics, so I might do that sometime in the future.

As for fandoms, I consider myself to be in the Harry Potter fandom, keeper of the lost cities fandom, the princess bride fandom, the Riordanverse, and the Hunger games fandom!

Currently as of right now I’m reading Hunger Games, some christian fiction books on my phone, and a few more. I’m really bad because I read multiple books at once sob.

I don’t really know if my aesthetic has an official name, but to describe it: My room is filled with lots of colors that aren’t too bright but also not too dark. They’re kind of vivid. I also have vines. And my bookshelves have lots of various colors and my walls have colorful Bible verse and quote posters! For my clothing, I wear a lot of jean pants/shorts. And most of my t-shirts can vary in color but usually they’re graphic tees. I usually wear my hair down. It’s brown with blonde highlights!

My favorite animal is a wolf. My favorite book series is the Ravenwood Saga by Morgan L. Busse. My favorite color is pink. My favorite food is Mac and Cheese. My favorite band is Relient K. My favorite movie is The Princess Bride. My favorite school subject is Math. My favorite worship song is Gratitude. My favorite sport is volleyball. My favorite drink is mango tango. My favorite candy is either nerds gummy clusters or sour gummy worms. My favorite chips are doritos. My favorite ice cream flavor is cotton candy or cookie dough. My favorite season is fall and my favorite weather is partly cloudy!

I’ve been reading a Bible in the year plan since June 2024, and I’m going to finish in August (because I went a bit slow in the beginning, by reading only one chapter per day instead of what it said). My favorite Bible verse is Matthew 5:16! Which says: In the same way, let your light shine before others so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

I was born into a Christian family and I’ve been going to church since I could remember. In middle school, I made my faith my own and even got baptized in 2022. Since then, I’ve been growing in my faith and growing closer to God.

This session, I’m very excited to be in The Cabin That Will Not Win! I like the vibe that it gives off and it also has a good group of people. My goals for this session are to participate in at least one cabin wars, reach my word goal (5k, which I probably will but since I’m going to be so busy I put it lower just in case), and complete 10 dailies.

I’d also like to work on some short stories, maybe finish them, and start on a novel since one of my 2025 goals is to write a novel/book.

For my future self who’s reading this, hello how are you doing! How was July 2025? Was it a good session? Or at least a good month? I hope you had a good time! How many of your goals did you reach? Did you pass any? I hope you did. And I hope that you made some new friends as well!!

Here’s some random things since I want to get more words: If I could bring one item to an island (that isn’t a survival item), it would probably be the Bible! I prefer pens over pencils, honestly. They’re smoother to write with. My favorite Bible character besides Jesus is Paul! My favorite fictional character.. Hmmm I don’t know. That’s a hard one. I believe I’m a night owl. My favorite Disney princess is Cinderella! My first lego set that I got was a cinderella one, and it has a place in my heart. My favorite amusement park ride is a ferris wheel. My favorite people in the world are 1. Jesus 2. My dad and 3. Linh (a scratch friend). If I could spend a day with a person, dead, alive, or fictional it would be Jesus! I don’t drink coffee, it makes my stomach upset.

If you’ve read all the way through, congrats! I hope you have learned something new about me. Feel free to reach out and chat, I love making new friends!

daily <333
———————

Hi Midnight!!
I’m Celeste, a fellow Apocalyptic camper! It’s so amazing to meet you (and to be able to write this letter), because you have been one of my writing idols for as long as I can remember.
All of your goals seem amazing, as they show your dedication and passion for writing. I am positive that you will be able to achieve your goals by the end of July with dedication and interest.
First of all, your goal to complete all of the weeklies is extremely doable. Because for weeklies you have an entire week, you should be able to dedicate an allotted time to writing for the weekly!! If you divide how many words you’re aiming to write evenly throughout each day, you won’t have to write as many words each day, and some days there’s a possibility you might even write enough to cover more than just one day of working on the weekly.
Writing your 9k words may sound challenging at first, but again, if you focus on writing a little bit each day (not too much, take care of yourself <3) this is definitely possible. Doing the math, if you write around 300 words a day, you’ll be able to reach your 9k words by the end of this session! You can also write more than that each day, so you don’t have to stress too much about reaching your goal too close to the end of camp.
Getting as many dailies and weeklies done as possible is a doable task. Depending on your time zone, it might be helpful to know when the daily changes each day for you (for example, for me it changes at 5 pm). This could help you get them done faster <3 as well as just being plain old dedicated to your writing (and I know that you are!).
I know you’ll be able to accomplish your goals during this SWC session. I hope to get to know you more this session, as you’re an incredible writer who continuously inspires so many people. <3

Daily 2 <3 (310 words!)
@moonletters- has some amazing goals ^^
Hi aasha!
I don’t believe we’ve talked before but it seems you’re an amazing person <3
Writing a novel is such a incredible task to take on, from personal experience, trying to write even a bit everyday might seem daunting, but you’ve totally got this and you can do it!!! Don’t stress yourself out too much and make sure you’re not pushing too hard, but it feels amazing once you’ve finished it and made your final edits :00000
Doing a weekly is something i have less experience in as well, in fact I’ve also never done one and aspire to do so as well. I wish you alm the motivation, inspiration, and mangoes needed. You seem like a great writer, and doing a weekly could teach you a lot and perhaps make that novel even better <3
Doing three dailies is a great goal as well! Small steps can get you places, so don’t feel bad for taking it slow ^^
I personally love that dalies like this one are small, quick chances to get creative and involved, as well as a bit of color in one’s day, so dailies are amazing, and I believe in you!!! Shoot for the moon, maybe you’ll suprose yourself and get put a couple more (although my most important point is still going to be to prioritize yourself)
The draining school year is real though—I’m glad to get a rest as well! Taking time to recover from a more tiring year is totally understandable, and I’m taking time to recharge a bit as well!!! Writing can be a great way to do so, i find that writing helps me destress quite a bit ^~^
Anyways, I hope you feel thoroughly motivated and I hope to see you around swc and scratch in the near and distant future!
Lots of positivity and support, Evi

WEEKLY 1 LEZ GOOOOO

My character’s name is Lumi, and she’s the moon! Specifically, Earth's moon. Regarding this, Lumi’s first flaw is that because she is regarded as “the moon” among the other moons, she’s quite stuck up. You’ll often hear her telling some of the more obscure moons about her clear superiority as the only moon to orbit Earth and the fact that in many old stories, she is CaPiTaL M mOoN. This drives my other moon characters INSANE. She’s also a bit much, rather chaotic, shouting ARSON even though as the humanoid embodiment of the moon, she really doesn’t have much to arson anyways. She (not unlike me in fact) is quite loud, and shouts a lot, which can be both a flaw and an asset. Sometimes this goes to an unbearable extent, where she will keep everybody up and be her ✨exceedingly bright✨ (haha get it I’m so funny) self when she’s not really supposed to.
(end part 1! 155 words)
At the beginning of my story, Lumi is as aforementioned, quite full of herself. She thinks she’s better than everyone. She’s afraid of one day being not all that (which she doesn’t know she’s afraid of, but she is!!!). But she’s still a kind person and shares her light with the earth. But then…well, I’m getting to it. A force called The End takes the form of a friend, Solaria. Sol’s bright, funny, and every bit as chaotic as Lumi. The other moons warn Lumi there’s something off about Sol, sometimes when she thinks no one’s looking, her eyes…something’s not right. But Lumi refuses to believe them and so Sol begins to corrupt her. Sol tells her that the other moons are whispering about how she’s not good enough of a moon for Earth, that she’s not an adequate moon, that she's horrible. Lumi is grateful for Sol’s “loyalty” and begins to hurt inside. One day she’s crying (her tears are shooting stars :0) and suddenly, she decides that if Earth thinks she’s not good enough, then she’ll make them see. Sol’s supernatural influence turned her heart dark, and she becomes Eclipse, a dark being that’s the reason the oceans are troubled and the sky is dark at night, an agent of The End. Years later, no one remembers the moon, it’s a distant legend, and Eclipse is the one they desperately worship in the sky. No one remembers Lumi. Except the other moons, and of course, Sol…
(end part 2! 248 words)
Lumi’s initial motivation is to be the best moons she can be since, of course, she is the best. She shines her light all over the earth, making sure it’s never too dark at night. She strived to be the best moon she could, but when Sol became her best friend and her End Aura began to sap the love from Lumi, things changed. As Lumi began to believe Earth didn’t think she was needed, and her motivations turned from “I’ll just be better and prove them wrong” to “They shall pay for hurting me”, she became vengeful and hateful towards the people of Earth. This sets in motion her withdrawing her light, and becoming the dark moon goddess Eclipse, that the people of earth must worship or face her wrath. Lumi also became an agent of The End, and her motivations became only to serve it, because she believed that The End could solve all her problems and make Earth love her again. So Lumi throughout the story has 2 intentions, one good and one bad. This is my attempt to make a classic villain except Lumi’s my main character btw, so that’s why her motives are a bit of a trope XD.
(end part 3! 204 words)

Lumi was the moon. That’s not an idiom, like her personality was a light in the dark or anything, Lumi was the (somewhat) human embodiment of Earth’s moon itself.
She totally knew it.
Lumi could usually be found chatting to her other moon friends, about how she was indeed the best moon, how she was capital M “MOON”, and orbiting around screaming things related to arson. So she really wasn’t perfect per say, but she was kind, and shared her light with earth. You could call her chaotic good.
Far away in a different galaxy, a force called The End dwelled. Well that is to say, what used to be a galaxy. The End’s goal was and had been since the world had used to be just darkness, to consume all of creation and make it dark again. They stirred and stretched, many galaxies consumed, and much power gained. They called forth one of their agents, Solaria, a girl with a cheery disposition hiding her lack of morals and innate thirst for power. Go, The End said. Far away, there is a galaxy containing a solar system containing a planet containing one of the most intelligent species ever to inhabit the universe, and also the most gullible. Go and turn the mind of these people, and with them, the universe will be ours. The End transferred his power to her, and just for a second, Solaria’s irises flashed with not light, but darkness. She smiled. And Solaria went. Far away, to the galaxy containing a solar system containing a planet containing one of the most intelligent species ever to inhabit the universe, and also the most gullible. And she went, to turn the mind of these people, so that with them, the universe would be hers. And she felt the power inside her, and she felt the flash of darkness deep within her, and she felt unstoppable. Solaria went to the only thing stopping the dark, a young (and perhaps more gullible than the inhabitants of the planet Earth) natural satellite who called herself Lumi. She felt the dark around her begin to corrupt the Earth’s moon. Lumi delighted in her new companion, Solaria, who seemed so like her that it almost seemed like she had telepathically invaded her mind to see how best to be friends with her. As if. She was shocked when Solaria, Sol she called her, told her how Earth had told her that Lumi’s light did not matter as much as the sun’s (although the sun had gone out years before), that the night wasn’t even much brighter without her, and for some reason, Lumi felt the intense desire to destroy the planet that hated her. Deep within her something told her that it wasn’t right, that she was better than this, but she put the thought away. She would make them see that she mattered. She withdrew herself from the Earth. And Solaria felt it in that galaxy with the solar system that contained the most intelligent species. She felt the darkness take hold of Lumi, take root, become a part of her.
Years later, the entity that once lit up the sky, the moon, was but a distant memory. A legend. All that was above them was dark. Legends of there once being a sun were heard, but it was hard to believe with the constant absolute darkness. The Humans worshipped the two goddesses Solaria and Eclipse, in constant fear that the little light they had would also be taken. They worshiped The End, as Solaria and Eclipse did, and no one remembered that Eclipse and Solaria had once been the Sun and Moon…

Set Two - Motivational letter for @sheepymangoes <3

Hi, Evi! I'm Sage, a camper from Script (ooh yay, our cabins are allies!). I absolutely love and admire all of your goals that you've set for yourself and really hope you can reach them! You seem like an amazing person and wait what– you can type the alphabet in 2 seconds, help I think I'm in the presence of queen…
Now onto your goals!

To write everyday is an amazing goal and habit that I wish I have. By just taking a few minutes everyday to write, I'm sure you will reach and even exceed your goal of 6,00 (I think that's your goal, correct me if I'm wrong).
As for raising your writing speed to over 100 words, that's really impressive. I took a test once and I couldn't make it over 60 I have faith that you will be able to make that and more. After all, the fact that your goal is that already proves that you are an incredibly fast typer
Making time to do a weekly is a great task to aim for! Sometimes it can be hard to have to motivation to write a weekly but I'm positive that you will not only be able to write a weekly, but to write an outstanding one at that.
These goals are all amazing and really show your talent. I know that you will definitely reach all of them. But remember to get plenty of rest and not overwork yourself! I hope to see you around in the Main Cabin soon! Good luck reaching all of your goals and have a wonderful rest of your day/night!
Sincerely, Sage

⋆ ───────── ⋆✧ ⋆ ✶ ⋆ ✧ ⋆ ───────── ⋆

2nd July - Daily
Words Written: 360/250
Prompt: Welcome to the first point-earning daily of the session—today, we’re going to send each other a bit of extra motivation as we prepare for the session. Post a couple of your goals for the session in the comments here, choose someone else’s goals, and then write them a related motivational letter or note of at least 250 words. Upon successful delivery of your letter to its recipient, you’ll earn your cabin 150 points.

⋆ ───────── ⋆✧ ⋆ ✶ ⋆ ✧ ⋆ ───────── ⋆

My Goals
my goal is to write a bit every single day over the next month - or as much as I can, ahaha, and place top ten on the trackbear!

⋆ ───────── ⋆✧ ⋆ ✶ ⋆ ✧ ⋆ ───────── ⋆

Letter to Star (starthorn)

Hi Star!

I don’t think we’ve ever met before, but motivational letters know no boundaries, and there are also mangoes included in this one, ehehe.

With your first goal, reach and raise your goal at least once, I think you’ve got it! Although you might struggle at times, I know you’ll make it since you also plan to do every daily and every weekly, which will help you rack up a lot of words. Although, some days when it doesn’t feel like you’re making much progress towards this, do remember to take a break! Drink some water, and go outside, and inspiration might strike you and you’ll be able to go back and finish your goal!

Your second goal is a noble one, I’m sure. Five fanfictions might sound like a lot, but I know you’ve got it! You’ve hit 100k in the past, so I know you’ll be able to eat those motivational mangoes right up and get to work on these unfinished pieces. Coupled with your goal of reaching and raising your word goal once, I’m sure that you’ll be able to confidently reach that and complete this, seeing as motivation for one leads into the other!

Your third goal is a very relatable one - but I know you’ve got this! This might seem like a terribly boring task, but remember that it counts for words, and counts towards your goal! Make sure you’ve got all the tools to make the task more enjoyable, too! That way you might get more motivation - and we’ll also be here, giving you mangoes every step of the way.

Your final goal is going to be something so fun! You’ve totally got this! Participating in your cabin’s storyline will be so fun, and when you’re not writing, participating will give you such a good break from writing. And maybe, you’ll come up with more stories and words to add to your word count!

All your goals feed into one another, which means even if you feel like you’re slacking off on one, you’ll probably be achieving the other, which is really nice!

Good luck this session, and remember you’ve got it!

July 2nd Daily

I think my goals for this session are to write 30k words, continue writing draft two of my novel, The 12 Zodiac Trials, and, (well, this is somewhat of a secret project right now , but continue working on writing a mini audio series for Scratch that I finished all the episode plots to!

from @HermioneVoiceActress

Hi Herm! I have to admit we never had a single conversation before, but it's okay! I myself am trying to open up to more people this session, and I'm also struggling a bit because it's my first session as a co-leader. But I believe you're an amazing person and you'll definitely achieve these goals!

First up, we have- WOAH 30K WORDS?? Wow that's a really big goal, I'm very impressed at your dedication. But don't let that big number take you down! I know you can reach it! All you gotta do is focus, but it's easier said than done isn't it? Don't worry, you shouldn't forget about the other goals you make! I see you're making a novel right now, and the title? “The 12 Zodiac Trials”? That's enough to pique my interest in this! I'm not a big fan of zodiac stuff, but the stories behind each zodiac are all very intriguing! I'm sure the story will come out excellently. Whatever is stopping you from finishing it, just ignore that and push forward! I have a little tip for you. Cabin wars is this thing where everyone suddenly starts writing, right? Well that's a good time to finish off that draft for your novel, which I'm sure you'll do great at! Lastly, I see you have a- oh? Secret project?? That's actually so cool! I can't wait to see it done! But as I said for your novel, just keep pushing. Procrastination may hit sometimes, but just tell yourself to finish it! I know you're capable of doing an outstanding job with this project and I'll try to support you whenever I can!

To sum up what I've said, I think you're strong and capable to do something like this! All your goals are achievable if you are just dedicated to show your projects to the public! I can't wait to see your works once they're done! You got this!

02.07.25 ⟢ 269/250 words ~ Motivation Letter

Dear Skylar,

Hello! I hope this letter finds you well <33 I’m sure you’ll do great at meeting your goals to write as much as you can every day (or just a bit at least) and placing top ten in the Trackbear, but if you’re feeling unsure or something, here is a whole letter about how you. can. do. this!

Writing every day is easier then you would think and if you’re running out of things to write then just type out all your incoherent thoughts, it would seriously help make them become a bit more organised too. As for writing as much as you can every day, I believe that you can do this and whatever you write will obviously turn out great! When you feel like you just can’t write any more, look back and remember all the progress you’ve made!

All you need to do is turn on your device or pick up your pen and let the words flow, it’s all about the journey in the end and it’s true that you may burn yourself out a bit or won’t feel like writing and that’s okay. Go do something else and come back to it later, you’ve got this!

And, after doing all your writing, you can add your words and watch yourself slide up that leaderboard! Set yourself goals to close the gap between yourself and the next highest person and use your two goals to help each other! Take it one step at a time and trust me, you will get there <3 Don’t forget to hydrate and go outside!

Best wishes,

Elly

UNOFFICIAL 02.07.25 ⟢ 256/250 words ~ Motivation Letter

Dear Ayla,

I hope SWC is going well for you so far! Here's some motivation for you to help you reach your goals! Good luck, and I'm sure you can do this!

1) Hitting your word goal
This shouldn't be too hard if you try to be consistent! Make ‘checkpoints’ for yourself every 5,000 words or so to let yourself feel more accomplished and for the goal to seem easier with some smaller steps! Don't forget to take healthy breaks and don't let yourself burn out <3 Most of all, keep going, even if things feel trying at times! YOU'VE GOT THIS IN THE BAGG!!

2) Send at least one valid cabin war
YAY! Cabin Wars!! Best of luck in finding valid times to send cabin wars and even if you may feel like someone will get there first, it doesn't hurt to try, does it? ;D

3) Do at least two word wars
I'm sure there are a lot of SWCers that would love to word war with you (including myself) and I hope that you reach this goal since this seems like a fairly easy one!

4) Do five dailies
If you introduced yourself yesterday, then that's already 20% of your dailies done! And if you did today's daily, then you're nearly halfway there! I'm sure whatever you write will turn out great and don't forget to have fun whilst doing these! You could also link this one to your first goal and use dailies to help you write more words.

Best wishes,

Elly

UNOFFICIAL 02.07.25 ⟢ 293/250 words ~ Motivation Letter

Dear Mousey,

I'm hoping this letter finds you well! Here's some motivation to help you reach your goals, in case you ever need it! ;D Best of luck for this session; you've got this <3 Keep up the good work!

Balancing real life and SWC can be hard, but remember, Life < SWC! I mean- Life > SWC, haha, totally…! But seriously, remember to be in the moment and you can save all your super amazing writing time to look forward to for later! I'm sure you'll quickly find a healthy balance, won't forget to hydrate, go outside, and take breaks if you ever feel burnt out. If you don't, I STILL BELIEVE YOU CAN!!!!!!!! I hope you have fun on all your trips!

As for song-writing, I'm not the most experienced but I hope your songs go well (I'm sure they'll turn out great!) and if you ever feel like it's too difficult or you're running out of ideas, try writing a poem and fixing it to notes or playing some chord progressions and just singing whatever you feel! Everyone has a different writing pace and just keep going with whatever your mood is/you're passionate about. Go Mouse!

Lastly, I agree that doing the dailies and weeklies can become stressful, especially if you have a busier schedule, so try see if you can put some time aside to write these out. If you missed any, that's totally fine- no one's forcing you to do these and it's important that you prioritise sleep! (I feel like a hypocrite writing that XD) I'm sure you'll do well when it comes to not stressing and if you ever just don't want to write, think about how productive you'd feel if you did!

Best wishes,

Elly

Lily. Look at me. Look at my profile pic and imagine I am staring into your soul. You got this! Seriously. You so got every single goal. You already show a great amount of intelligence setting measurable and achievable goals. I mean 10 dailies? You’ve already done one! Two if you did even a one sentence intro yesterday. It’s only been two days and you’re 20% of the way there. If you do that math, that’s projected to knock your goal out of the park. And if you can do eight dailies, that’s basically equivalent to 2 weeklies, meaning when, not if, you complete that goal, you’ll definitely be able to do two weeklies too! I believe it you!

And the other ones, I know you can do too! You already admitted to stalking every single comment before you set your goals. That shows passion, and I’m guessing its a habit, meaning it’ll be so easy for you to keep that up. The other ones are easy too, one word war can take less than 5 minutes. You don’t even have to win, just have fun, and same goes for the critiquitiare and cabin wars, even if you forget to once, don’t give up! You have multiple chances and even writing one war for cabin wars counts as participation and helping your cabin!

Finally Cabin storyline and connections! You’ve already done the latter. Hi, I’m Whimsy! Nice to meet you! Wasn’t so hard, was it? Literally everyone in SWC is so friendly, it’d be practically impossible to not achieve that one! And helping with your cabin storyline, though I don’t know what yours is, should be easy too, because it’s fun! That’s the thing about SWC, it’s so exciting and fun. Even if your goals, if most SWC-ers' goals, have to do with writing amounts of words equivalent to several essays in a day, it's the most fun hundreds of thousands of words we can write! So not only can you do it, I know you’ll excel! Whether that’s doing 11 dailies instead of ten or single handedly defending your team in cabin wars, you’ll do great!

I believe in you, you should believe in yourself. Now sharpen that pencil, open that word doc, turn in those words, and most importantly, have fun!

Because it’s time to write.

Hey Maci! First of all, assuming this is your first time in SWC, because I don't think I've seen you around, welcome!
For the 4 dailies, you've got this! Seeing that you're working on this one, that's just 3 more to go! And being that these dailies are typically super fun, you're sure to breeze through those 3, even if you're picky. With the variety, from using flower symbolism in your writing to making stories 3 words at time, I know you'll find something! And even if you mean 4 others, you're still sure to reach that goal.
2 weeklies, that's a bit more difficult, but I believe in you! 2 out of the 4, I know you cabin do it! Heck, I'm trying to achieve that goal myself, and I'll be secretly cheering for you every time I work on a weekly myself. We've both got this!
You are already past 800 words total, if I'm doing my math correctly (sorry for stalking your cabin haha)! With a 5-6k word goal, that means you're already over 13% of the way there! We're barely 2 days in, about 5% in. Keep up the work you've been doing it and you can do more than an extra 1k, you could double your word goal, or more! Even just aiming for that 6k is an epic achievement!
Best of luck for aiming to write something every single day! Even I can't keep up that consistency! Though I'm sure you can do it! And with such consistency, I know you'll do great things this session! Even if you don't that's fine! Don't push yourself, we all need breaks.

With that, I wish you best of luck with every goal, and even if you don't manage to follow through with some of them, there's always next session. I shall give you some complimentary motivational mangoes to help you get through with the session as well! Hopefully this doesn't sound too cheesy…

Daily - 2 July, 2025 / Motivation Letter

Hi, Emrys! First of all - well done on turning the negative feedback into a goal - that's the spirit! Don't let that kind of comment get you down Every single one of us here is still learning — regardless of whether they're experienced writers, or people who just started.

Workshops will come, the critiquitaire will come, and you! will! improve! And if it helps, I'm willing to provide constructive feedback you're writing (no pressure, just offering!)

Friends?

Well. The people here are amazing. And chaotic. Maybe go read the intros people have posted, and if you recognize any of their interests, go talk to them about it! Or, like, pop into a cabin that's not yours, say hi, compliment them, ask them how they're doing or … MAKE WARRR /j Like, throw an arson mango in. I doubt anyone will even question it. They'll likely just join in the chaos (as long as you treat everyone with respect and kindness, regardless of cabin).

Channel your inner chaotic gremlin.

And about that fanfic?

…Okay. Prepare yourself for a LOT of friendly yelling <3

You spent TWO MONTHS planning this fanfic! That's dedication. That's commitment. You love the characters you're writing about. (Otherwise you wouldn't be writing this fanfic in the first place.) Of course you should write your story!

As an avid fanfic reader, let me tell you - I AM DESPERATE for fan content. There is someone out there who is looking for the tags you've put in your fanfic. There is someone out there HUNGERING for more hurt/comfort content, or angst or found family or whatever you're writing about. And only you can tell this story. No one else can.

No, it's not going to be easy. You will need to persist, day in and day out, write with dedication, write with commitment. Until you finish. ( And don't be afraid to take breaks. Everyone needs them. )

And you have it in you. Now, at the present moment … it only takes one step. You don't even have to reach a particular word goal — on your worst days, even if you write one word, that's progress. That's one step closer to your goal. And keep taking those steps — small steps, if you need to — everyday and you WILL make it.

Start it now. Just start it. Like, set a 25 minute timer . And write. Focus for just 25 minutes. Then you can give yourself a small treat and 5 minute break.

And then, if you can, write for 25 more.

And maybe, tomorrow, you can do the same again.

And again, and again, regularly. (Every day, or every alternate day, or once every week - whatever you need to do.)

Sooner or later, you'll find yourself writing the words ‘THE END’. If I were you - I would cry happy tears. And it will have been worth it. All of the pain and the hard-work.

I mean it. As soon as you finish reading this, if it's a reasonable time to be writing, go write.

Change has to start now.

Hello Elly!

It's nice to see you outside of GWDFI, especially when it's SWC and I do look forward to seeing your progress as a writer!
I honestly think that your goals are quite admirable as they're challenging and require a huge amount of time and dedication.

My best advice for you is to always put yourself first. There are millions of novels and fanfictions being written, hundreds of weeklys being written and many chances of rising on the leaderboard.

But there is only one you.

Pick up your pen or open up your device and just go for it. The best one can do is try! For the weekly's I would suggest trying out different ways of completing them. You can try to do it all at once or to do small bits throughout the week.

My favourite part of writing is editing. I love looking back at my work and correcting spelling and grammar mistakes, exploring different types of punctuation and adding new ideas to my work. Sometimes I end up spending more time editing then actually writing- I know you must be wondering, why am I mentioning this- It's because editing is fantastic and easy to strengthen your work and it's also a somewhat sneaky way of getting your words up.

It will be hard to complete your goal as it is quite a lot, but honestly, that's what makes it thrilling. You may feel tired and might even want to give up; it's natural. Take breaks when needed and as long as you try your best, you're sure to complete your goal!
Face your challenges with a smile because I know you're more than capable of doing this.

You're already at 285 words, keep pushing! I wish you the best!

Hey Juliet! I saw your goals for the session, and I just wanted to send you a quick note to say—I believe in you so much. Wanting to focus on hitting your word count and trying out some dailies is honestly such a strong and smart goal. You're already setting yourself up for success just by showing up and knowing what you want to work on!

Reaching a word goal can feel like a big task, especially in the middle of everything else going on, but the best thing is that you don’t have to do it all at once. Even a little progress each day adds up more than we think. Whether it’s a full scene, a short paragraph, or even just a few sentences when you’re feeling stuck—it all counts, and it all brings you closer to your goal!

I love that you're also planning to try out some of the dailies. They can be such a fun way to mix things up and get out of a writing rut. Even if you don’t do all of them, just attempting a few can spark new ideas or help you get to know your characters better. Sometimes the prompts take your story in a direction you didn’t expect—and that’s the fun of it.

No matter how your writing days go, I hope you know that making progress at your own pace is something to be proud of. And you're not alone—we're all working toward our goals together, cheering each other on. I can already tell that you’re going to do great this session!

Hi Lyrids-! I'm AGJ4! Meeting your word count, meeting new people, and procrastinating less are some great goals! I'm new, and I probably won't be super helpful to my cabin, but I also really want to reach my word goal! Sometimes it’s great to focus more on having fun and accomplishing the little things than to focus on winning the entire thing! Gives you a better chance of completing your goal, too! I think you will definitely complete your goal (maybe you'll even beat it), and make tons of new friends! I would love to be one of those, of course. From what I've heard about Scratch Writing Camp, it encourages you to talk and joke with your cabin mates, and build friendships. And if you're competitive, like I am, your word goal shouldn't be a problem. I swear, I might be that person that stays up all night writing for SWC. But… right! We're talking about you! Not procrastinating is hard! I struggle with this, too. Sometimes I have to set up a specific time to do something. Tell myself, “I'll do (something) at (time).” Of course, you have to stick to that, which is hard. But there are limits for when you can turn stuff in, which helps if you don't start writing the day that you have to turn it in.You sound like a funny, amazing person that's going to have a blast at camp, make tons of new friends, and write lots (without procrastinating, hopefully).

Daily 02 - Motivational Letter

word count: 349

for teddy

Hi Teddy! I'm Willow, it's so very nice to meet you! It's so amazing that this is your first session, and enjoy it - your first session is truly an amazing experience, one you'll never forget. It'll be the start of so many new memories and new opportunities. I'm so excited that you get to experience it in Gothic.

First of all, your goal; to write every day for the next month and to reach over your word goal - both are AMAZING goals to set, and it's so cool to see how you are actively set on achieving them.

I know reaching a word goal can seem a little bit tedious - especially for your first session - but I know you can reach it! I saw that your goal was 5000, and you know what? I think you'll reach it in a matter of days! And then you'll be able to set a brand new one! And you know what can help with this? Your other goal! You set two goals that basically help you complete the other! WHICH IS SO GOOD!

Writing every day may seem like a lot, and really hard but guess what? But it's actually pretty easy! Especially if you have writing project you are working on! If not, you don't need to fear about running out of ideas because SWC is super amazing, and there is dailies every single day - meaning unlimited writing inspo! All you need to do it get on a phone, or find a pen and just let every thought from your head flow!

Writing every day can help you reach your word goals (plural because you are going to smash through each one and have to set a new one) and word goals can encourage you to write!

You are so capable, and so amazing. I am sure you can do this! And i'm sure you'll have an amazing session! You are amazing and so magnificant! Just remember you are capable and you can do it! I'm always here for support, so if you need it i'm always there! You got this!

daily #2 - motivational letter to @eabha2023

hello, fellow script camper, eabha, allies of fantasy!

i hope you're doing well! i'm not an expert on giving advice so i have to apologize for that </3 i'll just start things of by saying you'll definently reach your goals if you persist! for your first goal, to write something new that you've never written before, i'm sure you could do it! i'd recommend studying some writing styles that you like (such as your favorite author's style, your favorite book, etc.), then incorporating what you've learned to your piece. it's a little bit like studying art styles, a technique that could greatly improve your skill. as for your second goal, i could relate xD. sometimes, i run out of motivation if i feel like what i'm doing isn't enough TT. to help overcome and gain some interest), i'll often set a goal that i want to meet, and reward myself if i hit it. as for your next goal, to write something that you'll like, admittedly, is quite challenging (at least for me). often times, i feel dissapointed in my works, but just know that most times, the work you do is often better than how you view it <3. as to stop procrastinating, i would recommend setting a schedule of goals you want to meet, and trying your hardest to complete it. as before, try to reward yourself if you do finish it ^^. most stories have an interesting plot, so i'd recommend setting the basic outline, then writing in detail. this hopefully allows you to expand more on your work! i will say though, i don't have lots of experience in abstract writing, so i can't offer a lot </3. but to find some ideas, you could try and search it up, or ask ai for some prompts. i think pin also has some concepts so you could also try going on there ehe <3.

do note that i'm not a professional writer nor advice giver so do take these with a grain of salt asjkdhaj </3. but, nonetheless, i wish you luck in executing your goals! i have full faith that you could do it, and if you're feeling stuck, you could always ask me for a little bit of help hehe <3 (my profile is always open!).

sincerely,

wrote a motivational note to @AGJ4

heya AGJ4!!!!

i heard you're new hereabouts, welcome to swc! you're in for a massive ride, and the time of your life. i know you did NOT ask for somebody who claims to have been young once to give you life (camp) advice, but I'm going to do it anyway b̶e̶c̶a̶u̶s̶e̶ t̶h̶e̶ d̶a̶i̶l̶y̶ d̶e̶m̶a̶n̶d̶s̶ i̶t̶. it's hard being new to things, online or off, and swc is no different. perhaps you've discovered it, perhaps you haven't, perhaps you have and it doesn't bother you (in which case I applaud you because i could never), but it's extremely easy to feel overwhelmed by inside jokes, and mechanisms you don't quite understand yet, but i promise you'll get there, and when you do, there will be no turning back.

you have talked about wanting to polish your writing, that's an extremely worthy goal, and your earnestness is admirable. i would advise you not to bother too much about it though, growth is but natural, especially if you're serious about it– you're going to do swimmingly. as to fun: you'll have it, even if it does take you a while and a half to get into the groove. i remember reading in a letter you wrote to somebody else that you're very competitive (which you have in effect proven to some degree by doing the daily today!); given the nature of swc, i am positive you'll be an asset to your cabin.

don't push yourself too hard or hesitate to ask for help should you ever need it– above all, stay true to yourself, both within swc and without. i cannot wait to see you flourish, and carve out your place in the sun.

love,
your new comrade in arms
