if Griffpatch can do it, and he didn't have a full team, then I can do it lol.
What game did he recreate
didn't he remake Pac-Man?
Pac-Man is a much smaller-scale game than Sonic CD, with a lot less custom graphics to work with. Griffpatch is also a very experienced programmer. There's a lot possible in Scratch, and users like Spybaz keep pushing the limits of Scratch Sonic every day, but I'd recommend not raising your expectations too high. I fell pretty hard when I realized how difficult development is, I'm still sorta recovering…
One of the biggest issues you'd run into is storage! There's several limits to Scratch and everything has to be loaded at once, which can be taxing for less powerful computers. Remaking a full Sonic game might require splitting it into chunked projects.
What I'd recommend instead is not remaking anything, but just seeing what you can do yourself! It's cooler to make something unique to you, and you can take better advantage of how Scratch works. Replicating something you love can be nice too though, just don't overwork yourself too much! Whatever you choose to do, good luck!
well still, I have a whole team to help with my remake of SCD and we already got very far in only a month or two, so clearly we're onto something lol. I also don't think it's that hard to remake SCD, but I appreciate your encouragement! Also, if we get near the file limit then turbowarp. bam, no limit need. And also, I ain't worrying about making my own stuff anytime soon since I can barely make mockups so I just practice drawing on my own. My expectations are also through the roof, but i'm allowed to do that since me and the team can reach those expectations day by day! And don't worry, we're not overworking ourselves since idrc about deadlines like that and I just let the team do whatever as long as they're active/semiactive daily or weekly. And also, we're making solutions for less powerful computers and even mobile players by adding “low-blue mode” which makes the graphics less intense and many assets to be saved until the screen loads. and also, many Sonic expansions don't have to split the game, so why should we? I feel like too many people downgrade my experience with game-making, and i'm not saying you are, but I would say to give me and my crew a fair chance before you judge, because the game is actually 50% done so far and we're consistently adding new and improved features, movesets, music and more! So yeah, thanks for listening to my little talk and thanks! good luck to you too!
Transfer to cd miracle or whatever miracle is a mod of. If you want to stay on scratch, make it a sandbox.
how do i make Sonic CD into a sandbox of all things? i mean, i can make a multiplayer story mode but idk how that'll work unless i revamp the main story
Why do you even want to do this? You said CD doesn’t get enough love, but that’s the point. People don’t like CD. CD kinda ruined the sonic timeline. If you really want to do this, make the game simpler to run on more hardware.
people love CD, how do you think it's still being talked about to this day? that “HUE HUE HUE” meme didn't come out of nowhere. I also want to do this because of what I want, not because of others that want a million more Genesis expansions just to say “ohhh, I MADE SONIC 3 RE-EXPAndEd, GiVE mE PraIse!!!!”
Well then maybe people should actually give love to sonic 4

Hey, just wanted to let you know that it's okay. CD is a really cool Sonic game that does something really unique with the Classic Sonic formula! I'd love to see a reimagining. Even if the game were “bad” (which it isn't in my opinion, when you play it how it's meant to be played), sometimes it's the “bad” things that have the most unrealized potential. There's a lot more that can be done with the idea of exploratory 2D Sonic! I hope something good comes out of your project, I wish it the best <3
And remember,
Even if what you wish for doesn't come to pass,
the day that does come is decorated by your hands.
…or something like that, idk it's a nice song that makes me happy
