I don't see how this holds true. Kids telling each other their online mail addresses on Scratch would remain against the rules as revealing private information; I also think this presumption falls apart as a whole variety of pages that use such log-in tools that only encourage ease of access to the website rather than cultivate the usage of external private communication. With Facebook, Arduino and Amazon is goodAre you saying you want to add signing in with social media into Scratch??
To OP: No support, adding Google sign-in will make kids more likely to tell each other their Gmail addresses, which leads to private communication, which is not allowed

I'm sorry if I missed something, since I didn’t read all three pages — but I just wanted to add my thoughts.
It seems like Scratch accounts are already connected to an email, often a parent’s. That’s not the same as using a full Google or Apple login, though.
I get the idea, but a lot of people already use a browser that will save and autofill passwords, and Scratch has a “forgot password” tool too.
- Also, adding Google or Apple login might actually make Scratch less accessible to some kids.
- Not everyone has a Google or Apple account
- Those accounts often require users to be 13+ or have parental approval
- That might lead to some users lying about their age, just to make an account
AND BEFORE YOU COME OUT FOR ME BECAUSE YOU COULD STILL USE YOUR EMAIL- a lot of kids who do not have one will make an account on google or apple going “oh right seems easier”
Scratch is designed to follow COPPA and other kid-friendly privacy laws. Google and Apple might collect more personal data than Scratch currently does — things like names, device info, or location
also people might just want to remember their password-

Have you ever forgotten your username, password, and email connected to your Scratch account, or found them hard to remember? Well, no worries — you can use a Google or Apple account!

(#21)bruh I just found younger dumb me HAHHAHA only one year ago. I think it's because I used to think that google mail was the only kind of mail. I totally forgot about the microsoft or yahoo ones.First, well i got it when I was 10 or so, but I'm saying 5-8 year olds that also have scratch.you think there's 6 year olds and 8 year olds happily dancing around with their own Google or Apple account? You may speak for yourself, but I've had a Google account since I was 12.Isn't a google account quite literally just an electronic mail anyways?I think you're getting Google and censored confused. Google does allow you to access censored, but Google is not censored in of itself.
And no I'm not mixing them up, to create an account you need to make your email first

i didn't understand the second part so apologies if i say something that contradicts itI don't see how this holds true. even though it's against the rules it would have a greater probability of happening. if you add logging in with Google someone will go “oh but it doesn't work how do I login with Google” and someone else might ask "what's your efilermail" etc. this could already happen, and i know there's a filter, but it raises the chance

I don't know if that such would be a considerable increase though; but considering that such instances could be reasonably be assumed to be far and few between (it requires the presumption someone logged into Scratch would be commenting for a question about a service that they could reasonably be expected to Google; and that the second commenter would then ask for their online mail address being against the rules and being irrelevant to such a login process; a considerably unlikely scenario). Even if such instances did take place, I fail to see how they could be of statistical significance to make such moderational issues pose a severe increase in problems for the ST.i didn't understand the second part so apologies if i say something that contradicts itI don't see how this holds true.
