Where do the Music Loops Come From? [UPDATED]

King of the Page

I’m curious if anyone else has figured this out, and it’s the fact that ONLY THE 3.0 LOOP AND SOUND ARTISTS WERE CREDITED

Here’s the thing, I just found in the credits scratch did NOT get the music themselves, other people were in charge of finding music which I found from the 1.4 credits (Update: They are still credited on the 3.0 credit page, but are in past contributors.)

Where do the Music Loops Come From? [UPDATED]

YALL YALL YALL I THINK I MAY HAVE FOUND A SMALL LEAD IN THE SOUND FX
I noticed that there is a “Hey!” At the end of “Dance Celebrate” and that Hey! Is the same sound effect used in the same sound effect by the same name. So there are four things.
1: The owner of the “Hey!” Sound effect may have also made dance celebrate
2: The creator of Dance celebrate used the Hey! Sound effect
3: Scratch created Dance Celebrate
4: The hey could’ve been sampled from dance celebrate to be used as a separate sound effect

(Update) I have brought my suspicions up in a QAS topic, let’s hope that I do get a answer and not a “please use contact us” so it’s easy

Where do the Music Loops Come From? [UPDATED]

I've mostly just been stalking this forum instead of contributing, but I found a YouTube playlist with some strange tracks. I'm still not sure where they come from, but it could be a helpful lead.

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLL0CQjrcN8D0ctQj9JAHLvN8V8sRfUYHd

The version of Gryrow is a little longer, and strangely doesn't have the barks (idk what else to call them) around 40 seconds in, like the Soundcloud one has.
The version of Dance Head Nod is different, but sounds like the same song (could be from the same track?).
The version of Dance Energetic has lyrics (or adlibs)?
And there is a weird Scratch cat “meow” remix credited to Brian Nimens?

Sorry if this has already been discovered, I haven't looked at every post!

Where do the Music Loops Come From? [UPDATED]

“Elec Piano” (Scratch 2.0 loop) may be original, since on an earlier project named “electric piano toy”, @ericr states that he "recorded [himself] playing individual notes and chords on [his] vintage fender rhodes electric piano, directly into the scratch sound editor.“ (You can also see what I assume is a picture of that piano in the project.)

If @ericr already owned a Rhodes piano, and had already made recordings of it, it would make sense that he would do that again for Elec Piano. The ”bass notes“ recordings in ”electric piano toy“ and Elec Piano Loop have similar tones and background noise as well.

I went to the page linked in the description of the Elec Piano project, which listed an OLPC sample pack labeled ”acoustic and electric piano, harpsichord, clavinet, organ, toy piano". That pack doesn't have the loop in it, further suggesting that this is original work. What does everyone else think?

I agree with that theory and along with that the sound and quality sounds similar to elec piano so I pretty much agree!

I did some asking around and I found the origin of “Cave (extended)”!!!

NO IDEA, who isthistaken123 is, but i hope this helps your search: https://servilla.org/files/Sounds_of_Scratch_1.4.zip (a friend of mine contacted the original artist and compiled a ‘mixtape’ of some of the missing extended cuts)

Also a clarification of why the emoji project was “missing” for so long:

also, while i TOTALLY HAVE NO CLUE who isthistaken123 is, i know that the account was banned and put in a state where all the projects were hidden a while ago. last year when i was on the scratch team i found a bug that let regular users ban/unban people, and i unbanned that account and banned it again, but we set it into the wrong state, so it’s now banned with projects visible. happy accident.
still…. no affiliation with any isthistaken123… never heard that name in my life…

Where do the Music Loops Come From? [UPDATED]

I wanna know your guys opinion on this: I requested an account for the scratch wiki to use the list of the found songs to update the page for the list of sound library sounds on the scratch wiki as it doesn’t contain every found song and uses the unconfirmed fact that the dance tracks are from andro1t and I wanna update it to have the sources and the new findings
