Discussion Search Bar
Ok, I get your point, but how would search querys work? Why should we not just ctrl + f ?Only works on one page per forum (and then you have to click to the next page), and you can't search more than one forum at once.
Highly inefficient when you're searching for one topic in a forum with thousands of pages.
I've no idea, since I'm not into website forum building.
However, to repeat what I said before, most forums of any use have such a facility as standard, it's part of the underlying basic software you used when setting up the forum in the first place. I don't expect you have to write much code to implement it, just flick a switch.
As BigNate469 said earlier, "DjangoBB certainly can- and the forums used to have a search feature (https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/search/ ) which is actually still used for searching for things like all of your posts and unanswered posts. For some reason they removed it.“
And, as michaeljackson1365 said, ”This would be really useful for checking that the forum topic you're posting isn't a duplicate, support."

search for the forums used to exist, but it is now unusable
it is technically still there because if you click “Show new posts since last visit” it has /search/ in the url

Wouldn't a change to the main search bar be just as good (I was thinking like the message letterbox).

EXTREME support
ScratchDB is now down, and it may be a nice idea to bring that feature, you can find dupes, but mostly you can find necroposting areas.
EDIT: Ocular AND ScratchDB is down. Now I found this (the website is broken since 22nd of may), this and this. You can use them if you want to for now.

ok, sorry about please read but recently hardly anyone has been contributing. so this is my idea. whenever you go into a specific forum, eg, suggestions, you will be able to search a topic by it's name. This will be extrememely efficient, say you wanted to make a cloud variable list, you could check that you're not making a duplicate topic. and say you wanted to talk about minecraft, you type it in. please write why you don't support if you don't.Please don't necropost.

EXTREME supportNah, the certificate for ScratchDB is down, so Ocular can no longer pull data from it. You can still go to its website and bypass the warning screen. Ocular should be working fine afterwards.
