Here is the problem I see: Our shop (the casual coding shop) gets like 1 order every 3 months or something. This puts us at a major disadvantige, becuse we may not get any orders at all!

Here are some possible solutions to this problem:

Judges Order

This may be the best one. The judges order the same orders at every shop, meaning that no shop will get an almost impossible order while another gets an easy one. It could also be different orders, as long as they are of equal difficulty.

Pros:
All orders are fair
Everyone gets 3 orders
Since the judges are the same for each one, they all have the same opinion in ratings (so no trolls who want to sabotage)
There could be an average score, leading to less ties, since it can be a decimal too (and there are multiple judges, so no one gets a one vote insta win. This also almost eliminates being baised)
You still have the surprise of the order

Cons:
I don’t really see any, let me know of any

Staff Order
Before you decline this, hear me out. An order would have to be evaluated by a judge and the judge can edit it in any way they feel needed and must add a twist too it (to prevent having a project already done for it). I don’t think this is as good, but i’m just putting it out there.

Pros:
Orders are fair and balanced, while still being random

Cons:
Easier to cheat
Easier to play into strengths

I hope you consideer one of these options, becuase the way it is now, the shopetition is making the bigger shops bigger, and the smaller shops smaller.

There's a very good chance that it is higher this season, meaning that, let's say 15 shops were competing, we would need 45 orders, which even when divided among 3 or 4 people would still require a lot of orders to made. That's why its reserved to the Knockout stage when there are fewer shops and 2 shops share a single order. And with your staff idea, I don't really like it, because it would be just a little too easy to cheat, even if judges were able to tweak results and stuff. So overall, I think the setup we have right now is the best, for now, but I definitely see where you are going with this. It would be a good idea to follow this idea up!

Hello, I really hate to say this but I’m pushing the Shopetition schedule by 7 days since we have not gotten enough shops to participate mostly because I have been more busy than I ever have. It makes me mad that I have to do this but it’s what we have to do. If you would be able to try and convince your shop directors to apply, that would be greatly appreciated, as right now, I do not have the time.
