His Sonic Channel bio straight up calls him a mutant Chao, I’m sure there’s more instances of him being referred to as one but that’s the first one off my head

He may be a “mutant Chao”, but he's not a science experiment. He's also called the “God of the Chao” at times and when originally designed was not meant to be one of them. In other words, don't group him with the Chao- it's not the same as shipping someone like Cheese with a Sonic char. This is one of those cases where I'd say ya'll need to play the game lol (hehe I've played every mainstream Sonic game except Sonic Heroes because I can't get a working copy for some reason)

I have played the game lmao, SA1 is one of my fav Sonic games. Idk there’s just not much abt Chaos to me that suggests he’s on the same average intellect as a mobian like Tikal so I’m kinda eh on the idea of them being a couple but I mean ultimately ship & let sail, ik what it’s like for ppl to dunk on ur fav ships (*cough* *cough* Sonadow) so sorry if I came across as judgmental or rude lol
