Prodigy is a math game. In it, you are a wizard where your goal is to collect pets to fight other wild pets.

The story is that you are a wizard, going to the Academy. But before you get on the bridge to go, the Puppet Master (very cliche name, I know) takes the crystals that hold the bridge up from their pedestals, causing the bridge to fall. Now, you must go on a quest to get the crystals back so you can go to the academy.

There are types of spells and monsters (WAIT, THIS IS POKEM-) that you can use. Fire, Earth, Water, Storm, and Ice. All have their own advantages. Fire beats Earth and Ice, Earth beats Water, Water beats Fire, Storm beats Water, and Ice beats Storm.

but seriously, other than the fact that they're the ea of the kids' edutainment game industry the game is iconic and should be more accessible to the parents who barely have enough money to survive let alone spend $4.91 a month just for the basic membership. wait, its not even that much… well, it shouldn't be that much anyway! if this were marketed as a school resource (which is partly is) it should be free or at least dirt cheap for even the most basic membership. and making the magicoin near-impossible to get for free players is not fair, it should at least be dropped at one or two at a time from most battles. and even then, kids see the evolve mechanic and think “oh boy pokémon” just to click on it and have it be like “oh boy more money-i mean ask your parents to buy a $50 annual subscription” like you think timmy is just going to accept the fact that he needs food? of course not so he's gonna steal his mom's credit card to buy something that SHOULD BE FREE.
of course, that is a little bit exaggerative, so let's just do a little math here. the single monthly pricing for a core membership is $9.95 a month, but if you select the yearly option, that may be $58.95 annually, but the monthly cost overall is just $4.91 a month. and if that sounds like a bargain, the ultra membership “annual” pricing option (labeled as “best value”) is only $9.91 per month compared to the absurd price of 19.95 a month. now, sure, that is still $118.95 annually, but that's also a one-time payment for the entire year, if you can get that much money to begin with.
tl;dr: expensive + should be better

its funny playing this game as a veteran player and seeing just how confusing and complicated they made the game, it was fine and great as it was without all the new mechanics and systems

exactly! i just play the old versions for fun they are waaayy better
if they are gonna make it like this just make the game like $5 to buy and forget all the membership stuff it is WAY too much

you just made me search up old prodigy and omg!? IT ACTUALLY USED TO SEMI EXPLAIN LORE AND BACKSTORY!? for clarification i joined prodigy around 2017-2018 ALSO WHAT NOOT HAD A DIFFERENT DESIGN BACK THEN BEFORE I JOINED!? WHY DIDNT THEY KEEP THE OLD ONE!!?
