It is not okay to use social actions (likes, favorites, views, or follows) as a form of payment. Scratch social actions should always be something that Scratchers give freely, not something they do because they are getting “paid” for it.

Social actions can't be used for payment. this means that contests are logically not allowed, as they are giving out loves, faves, follows etc.

I have reported a good helping of contests in the past month or so (of course I will not be naming them), but only one or two have been taken down. I link the announcement in the report. The announcement is relatively old and contests aren't getting banished so I was wondering if it wasn't being enforced anymore.

It isn't considered “payment”. If people are volunteering to be a prize giver of their own free will*, it doesn't constitute a takedown. Thanks for asking this question, though, I feel like this is something meaningful people can learn from~!

*Free will is a myth! Religion is a joke! We are all pawns, controlled by something greater! Memes! The DNA of the soul.

I would argue that it is employing people to “pay” others for participating in the contest. I might be wrong, though.

they're not employed if they're not paid take that collabs it's their own choice, they're not forced to, so it's OK.

I'm unsure if this would be allowed, if it isn't payment it definitely still is rewarding, so I'm not sure the stance on that.
I know that it's probably completely fine to use a reward of something like blockbit though.

Well like some said above if that's their will why not? It's not like anybody forced them to be a prizegiver. And in many cases some never complete the task of being a prizegiver, because they dont want anymore of for other reasons, but that's okay as nobody is forced to do anything.
I think that the "prizes" are just mostly for motovation or to get more noticed or for other reasons though.

Question about contests.

Like others have said, contests should be okay, as people use their free will to be a prizegiver. I think it could be considered similar to F4F or “follow everyone” accounts. They're allowed, but use follows and loves in a way that was not intended.

Not all contests have prizes as follows/loves/favorites, but it has been confirmed to be not allowed. I'm pretty sure anyway - I might be wrong. Contests are still allowed tho, if they don't have those as prizes.

the ones I reported were specifically contests that used followers as a reward.

It seems like the general consensus is that contest rewards are OK. I'll ask this be closed.

This is my take on it as well. We prefer to see contests that don't use social actions as prizes, since that is not the intended use of social actions.
