support. Scratch does allow webp files, you just have to upload them over and over and over again. Very annoying.

I can’t upload webp files, so should we have scratch support them for once?Just use online converters.
If you say “no support”, I’m fine with that.
I’m not asking for support.
Thank you!

+ not everybody has access to them (maybe they're on a school chromebook or otherwise cannot use a converter)
+ convenience

You can change the file name to png or jpeg and it works 95% of the time so I'm not sure if this is necessary
Also webp is like just made for displaying images on search queries its honestly google's fault for making it so unbelievably counter intuitive to use in other programs

(source: i tried it on SteamOS, and it just made the file unreadable, pretty sure it's the same for windows)

I've found that for most .webp files I download, I can rename the extension from .webp to .png

Pretty sure it worked for clearer studio + pfp images but all of a sudden it just doesn’t work now. You can still upload them as pfps n stuff but they aren’t clear like they used to be

It doesn't always workWebp files and PNG files are not the same. Logically, this shouldn't work.No support
Its not that hard to convert webp images to pngs if your on a chromebook just remame the file from “Balling.webp to Balling.png”
not all people know that
What has the world come to if the average computer user doesn't know how to rename a file? If it really is as simple as renaming a file, no support. It would be good if people had to rename the file because then they would actually learn the file system and it's useful knowledge.
It should work, I have done it before
