I have been roleplaying for just under a year now, mainly just in TSS (Azurecall currently).

I think that characters who go through situations like the one these kits will go through have quite a lot of intriguing depth as a result, and I think it has many possibilities that I think would be fun to explore. I also absolutely adore Verdant’s design.

Verdant will be a lesbian, and would frequently fall in love and do absolutely nothing about it out of a fear of rejection. She will not seek to find a specific label in terms of gender, but will respond to any feminine or gender-neutral pronouns and refer to herself with she/her.

Simple:
Empathetic, creative, devoted, adventurous
Nervous, clingy, perfectionistic, aloof

Detailed: Verdant has a soft soul that will be irrevocably damaged by life. She wants to learn and explore, but has the mostly accurate belief that every mistake she makes could ruin her and as a result thinks that things such as enjoying herself and thriving. She will have difficulty forming relationships because of a lack of self-confidence and a fear of rejection, but when she does she will be extremely protective of said friends, always terrified that they'll leave her or hate her. She has a habit of daydreaming and may prioritize her ponderings over any sort of socializing.

The woeful little Wanderer was perched on a sturdy branch of the tallest tree in all the clans. The wind whipped its glossy fur and its sharp claws dug into the supple bark. It could see everything from here, the territories and beyond. It felt alive and free, and it knew it could go anywhere. But of course, the Wanderer was as real as the freedom she felt. In reality, she was trapped, trapped in Shadowclan camp, trapped in the walls of her mind, trapped by all she couldn’t do.
The small kit stared into the distance from the nursery entrance, at a land of the most captivating verdant green. If only this Verdant was out there too, roaming the dense woodland in search of adventure. But mama wanted her to be good, and good kits can’t ever leave. She couldn't even play with the other kits, because fun always led to failure. Whatever it took to make mama happy, Verdantkit supposed.

Childhood abuse and neglect: Childhood abuse and neglect are exactly what they sound like - the abuse and neglect of children, which in this case will be as a result of Swansonata’s high expectations of her kits and her reaction to having them not meet these expectations. This can lead to various mental health disorders such as PTSD, anxiety, depression, various personality disorders, and more.
Social anxiety: Social anxiety is a common anxiety disorder that can cause fear and worry about social situations due to a fear of being judged harshly by others. Beings with this disorder may have difficulty with relatively average things such as having a conversation or even eating or drinking in public may cause worry.
Depression: Depression is an intense persistent feeling of sadness, despair, and/or similarly negative emotions. This can affect things such as motivation and thoughts and feelings about basically anything.

Verdant will be very affected by her treatment as a child. This, among many other things, will give her depression and social anxiety because she will feel bad about herself and her abilities because of her mother’s harshness. Verdant will have a fear of abandonment and be very clingy as a result. She will rely on every friend she makes, whether or not the feeling is mutual, and will be crushed by any hint of dislike. She will be extremely perfectionistic, taught that any mistake she makes could result in horrors. She will often see herself as a character called the Wanderer in her daydreams, representing her desire to be free of the burdens of neglect and abuse and ‘wander’ the world.

There’s a few of there floating around in my head and placing them in any sort of comprehendable order is too much effort, so here's some brainstorming:
I’d like to think that with the help of her siblings/friends she could overcome some of her fears and sadnesses, probably would happen during late adolescence
Verdant might grow to despise her mother for putting her and her siblings through everything, and eventually all that rage would explode and probably damage some of her relationships before she would realize what she had done
She might have a time where she considers joining another clan, but likely this will be nothing more than a speculation
Verdant may choose to distance herself from everyone in favor of her daydreaming with the hope that if she thought about it enough she could be free, which of course will not happen. She will hopefully get through this with help from those who care about her.
