Honestly, I think that it's mostly in bigger theaters (ppl were only clapping in my theater), but still a good idea ;-;

I just got out of the cinema! It was surprisingly empty! There was one kid who was clapping but he was only applauding at the moments he thought were really cool so to be honest he was just acting out what we were all thinking
Jack Black was really good as Steve and I liked Garbage Man's character development (love me some characters who are so self-centered it loops back around to being self-aware)
I did feel like the ladies were underutilized, but they were treated pretty well considering and I liked their mushroom house and the scene where they're attacking hordes with farming implements
The enderman fight was awesome!

To me, the movie felt like a nothing-fest. There were multiple plot holes and everything was just predictable and boring

How did the pillagers get the earth crystal?
How did the kid get all the wood needed to make the tower while being surrounded by creepers?
How did they just “make another brain” to revive the giant hog thing when it took them a long while to do so the first time?

The visuals weren't that bad, it was just the blending between them and the humans that made the look of it feel so overly mundane or sometimes weird
It's as if the creators of the movie were just trying to offer fan service to fans of Minecraft in hopes that the movie would succeed, and they were right.

I mean I just watch the movie dawg. i thought that the fact the children's mom was dead was going to affect the plot but it might as well not existed as a fact in the story. i guess when I think more about it it's just not very thought out

I mean I just watch the movie dawg. i thought that the fact the children's mom was dead was going to affect the plot but it might as well not existed as a fact in the story. i guess when I think more about it it's just not very thought out

Tbh there were some parts, especially in the opening, where the story was so well-worn that it felt like a satire. The whole “kid goes to new school and is bullied for being ‘creative’ and accidentally jeopardizes (insert family member here)'s job after being sabotaged for literally no reason” felt ridiculously familiar and over-used.
