I read a really good fic today and I've been thinking about it since. One sentence has been stuck in my mind because it was so good. It doesn't make sense without context, and the context isn't allowed on scratch, so I won't say it here. The author probably didn't think about that sentence that much, but for me it made the whole fic 1000% better than it already was. It left me thinking about how the events in it would affect the rest of their life and loved ones lives. This fic shouldn't have affected me like this, it isn't angst, but I'm glad it did.

A really good author I like posted a new fic yesterday. It was super good. They wrote sneezes pretty well.

one of my favorite fics stopped being updated in 2017 and had a bunch of chapters left

I read so many amazing fics yesterday. 2 were about adopting kids and they were very cute. 1 of those is unfinished so I'll enjoy following the story along as more chapters are posted. Another unfinished story I read was about a spy investigating a food critic because he thinks the food critic is an operative. It is so well written and I'm excited for more chapters. There is also a bunch of great drabbles and ficlets being posted by someone anonymous, so I'm a bit sad I can't subscribe to them, but I'll enjoy their fics anyway.

I'm writing down all the fics I'm reading this year + their word counts. On average, i read 27175 words a day which is fun. I've read 568 fics in total as of writing this.

So far, I've read 195,298 words & 80 fics this month and its only been 12 days.

If you go on ao3 then its really easy to filter what you do and don't want to read. It might be a bit confusing at first, but there's a lot of resources out there that explain how tags and filters and all that stuff works.

I feel like despite my fav ship being one of the most popular in the fandom it still has very little fics in comparison to others (the most popular has like 470 fics and my fav has around 166)

I just reread the first and only fanfic I've written and it was certainly something. It's about a character who steals genders making a gender stealing robot to steal genders for them. Accidentally, the gender stealer sends the robot to one of their friends, and it steals their gender. It was awful. There were so many unnecessary details. My favorite has to be “pulled out a small knife the size of a pen,” because it has absolutely no relevance whatsoever and didn't need to be so specific. There are also references in here that make no sense to me anymore. For example, the gender stealers friend points out that the robot has stolen art on it, which is definitely either referencing something, or I was just going crazy when writing. Just poking around at the fic you can see so many problems. The dialouge is unnatural, and one paragraph is written in 1st person when the rests in 3rd. Despite all that, I love this thing so much. Its so unintentionally funny and actually has alright pacing which is surprising. I love this fic like its my cat crawling into the ceiling. Obviously, I don't want my cat up there, but I certainly don't hate it just for being in the ceiling. This wasn't published anywhere, it's just been in Google docs for 3 years collecting dust, but I'm considering publishing it because I think it is very effective crack.

i have read seen watched enough diary of a wimpy kid fanfics on youtube to tell you this:



they are insane
like i genually can not belive how people come up with this stuff. ive seen some questionable stuff that i cant mention on scratch like its to deep
theres one whre it takes place 25 years later, something where the heffleys participate in an internet challenge often abbreviated as nnñ (wont tell, dont ask) one where greg screws up and one where greg's parents are divorced

needless to say, if you EVER dive into them, strap on. its a wild ride.
