Necropost rules

Necroposts are only necroposts if the topic that has been necroposted on is no longer relevant. For example, if a question in this subforum has already been answered, then it can be necroposted on. But if it's still open without an answer, it's not necessarily a necropost. Most of the time, questions here will be answered, though, so necroposts are quite common in this subforum. In Suggestions, for example, most suggestions are not implemented for a long time - so while they're not implemented, necroposting doesn't exist on those suggestions, because they're still relevant.

Additionally, the amount of time that passes before a post is considered a necropost varies by forum- for here, it's a few months, but in other forums it could be almost a year because of their activity level.

A suggestion post can also become irrelevant if it becomes implemented or rejected and the topic isn't closed, for example, an obscure suggestion or duplicate of a suggestion loses activity over time.

Necroposts normally don't exist in the Things I'm Making and Creating forum unless the topic is about something that one user or a group of users is making (such as a story), that is, not a general topic that will continue to be relevant even if the topic loses activity.
