A grandfather, a father and a son.
The grandfather is the father's father, and the father is the grandfather's son.

I think it should actually be revised to 3 sons.

The grandfather is still a son, his father just isn't there.

“As I was walking to St. Ives
I met a man with seven wives.
And every wife had seven sacks
And every sack had seven cats
And every cat had seven kits.
Kits, cats, sacks, and wives
How many were going to St. Ives?”

A prince wants to marry a beautiful princess. However, the king does not want the prince to marry his daughter, so he offers the prince a deal: he has two marbles in a box. One is black, one is white. The prince can pick one. If it is white, he marries the princess, but if it is black, he dies. The prince accepts the deal, but right before he goes to pick, the princess somehow tells him that it is a trick and both marbles are black. It's too late to back out, though. How can the prince marry the princess?

A man, stranded on a 12-mile-long forested island, is living quite well. One day, though, a fire starts at one end of the island. There is a strong breeze and the fire advances across the island at 1 mph. The water surrounding the island is infested with sharks. What does the man do?
