Scratch Movie: Quest for Bugs
ok nano is never the excited one lol it is hard for him to be excited like. openly Alright, once I get the go-ahead for the edits I made to my script I'll probably add it.
Also, I find it hard to balance representing the thoughts, emotions, relationships, and character-revealing moments for all six protagonists. Sometimes I just lean so hard into one plotline that I forget almost entirely about certain characters. It also doesn't help that Nano and Pico aren't very fleshed out as a character in the script so far.
sometimes he has these shows of genuine happiness and he is like awh smile….. but nothing extreme. very normal but very rare
he is shy but not like stuttery shy and like always flustered and on edge, that is not what he should be. he is more of the collected and kept to himself kind, and is pretty grumpy on the outside, doesnt like to show genuine interests and stuff. you know, the quiet kid at school, but with a grumpy expression and kinda shouty sometimes. but he can also be happy and carefree in the right environment, lots of times alone, or when walking with friends he will kind of lag behind and spin around or something (ok i am kinda self projecting here but this matches him). he probably tries to draw but keeps ripping up the paper and saying he's bad. likes small friend groups that he can kinda let loose in, like what he had with giga and pico back in the day. he used to be the silly but quiet one, in his own world, but now he is different. he is kinda in his emo phase, but he still has parts of that in him. he'll grow out of it eventually

https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1153772370/Would any animators or artists be able to make some in depth like background art like a urban city and some maybe concerete blocks (or other city like objects) to jump on? Preferably in the same animation style as the movie. hey I made a little sneak peak on the game:
Some references (Not the location just style of animation. Idk how scratchtopia is going to look as a city.)

hey… what if the platformer starts high quality but gets lower as the bugs take over? that would show kind of the plot of the movie, and not lead people away when they first start playing the game. the lower to higher isnt really related to the movie at all, so this could also incorporate the quality sliding feature while also eluding to the plot of the movie.

Nah we should just abandon the movie and start making platformers based off of this movie even though we won't finish it in this casek…. the platformers are all golly and great but like there IS movie to work onI’m making a platformer too but it will mostly be to show off scratch topia, and it’s gonna have a kidnapping plot lol (kaj steals mascots, sc rescues)yeeaThats a good idea hey… what if the platformer starts high quality but gets lower as the bugs take over? that would show kind of the plot of the movie, and not lead people away when they first start playing the game. the lower to higher isnt really related to the movie at all, so this could also incorporate the quality sliding feature while also eluding to the plot of the movie.

Or even better: we rebrand the Scratch Movie as the Platformer Movie and instead of Quest for Bugs it's Quest for Coins

Alright, I updated the script on post #6667 (six seven
) again. Nano is less enthusiastic- he is still kind of happy about the restaurant, but he is a bit more in-character.

Scratch Movie: Quest for Bugs
Alright, I wrote a bit more. Previous script is on #6667.
GOBO: (Repulsed.) Ew, what?! That's disgusting! Pineapple is horrible on pizza!
NANO: (In a slightly laid-back voice.) Oh, come on! It's amazing! The pineapple flavors really blend… (Nano goes through the door. His voice fades out as he does so.)
(Cut to a head-on shot of the front door. After Gobo, Nano, Pico, and Tera have entered the restaurant, SC enters the restaurant through the front door. As soon as the door closes and its closing sound can be heard, the camera cuts to a much more menacingly lit steel door of similar physical proportions to the restaraunt's front door.)
- new part of script begins here -
KAJ: (Enters through the metal door. Behind the metal door is a flight of stairs. He coughs due to dust in the area.) Man, this place is dusty. I haven't been here in a while…
(Cut to a heavy metal shaft on the surface. It is propped open by one or two pieces of wood. Lots of Banned Users are walking through the shaft and onto the flight of stairs that lead to Kaj's laboratory. Some pieces of are on the side, hinting at the fact that Kaj used as a way to hide the shaft, and therefore, his entire laboratory.)
(Cut back to Kaj, who turns on the lights in his laboratory. The camera pans around to show the viewers how his laboratory looks like. It looks quite makeshift and messy, much like the internet router or laptop that was made by one of the Banned Users.)
BANNED USER 1: (In amazement.) Woah. How did you make this?
KAJ: (Annoyed.) Address me by my name, you imp.
BANNED USER 1: Wha- you didn't even tell us your name! How are we supposed to know your name if-
BANNED USER 2: His, uh… his name is Kaj. I think.
BANNED USER 1: Wait, how do you know that?
BANNED USER 2: Well, my-
KAJ: (Angry and annoyed.) Please shut up, you two. That's not important right now. (Kaj goes behind a tall metal cabinet with five shelves and pulls out a huge whiteboard sitting on a whiteboard stand. He sets it up near the front-middle of the laboratory's main room and stand next to it.)
KAJ: Attention, everyone! Come here right now!
(Banned User 5 is touching and rotating around in his hands a gadget lying around the laboratory. He is in amazement.)
KAJ: (Annoyed.) Stop touching that!
(Banned User 5 is spooked, and since they don't want to get into any further trouble with Kaj, they leave the gadget be and walk away from it.)
(All of the Banned Users conglomerate into a messy group that is roughly in front of Kaj. Kaj grabs a slightly dusty and slightly cracked red whiteboard marker.)
KAJ: (Yelling.) Silence! Can't you all just stop talking and fooling around for one second?!
(In only a few seconds, the Banned Users all seem to calm down and stop talking. The movement of the users seems to dwindle.)
I currently have no idea what I should write here. Maybe I can get this done sometime later.
(Cut to SC, who is inside the restaurant and looking at reviews of it on the ScratchReview app. He is scrolling past tons of positive five-star reviews.)
GOBO: ….uh, Scratch Cat?
SCRATCH CAT: Yeah?
GOBO: Are you sure this place has good food? Most of the restaurants in this area are awful!
SCRATCH CAT: I mean, this restaurant's got a lot of five-star reviews. (They show their phone to Gobo. Gobo feels a bit more reassured.)
(Cut to Giga, who is near the counter. She is looking at the TVs behind the counter that show portions of the restaurant's menu.)
GIGA: Ooh, Italian food! Intriguing!
(Gobo slowly walks up to Giga. He also looks up at the menus on the TVs.
GOBO: Overrated. I like obscure and unique foods, ones that have a little kick to it.
GIGA: …like what? (Giga expects some crazy answer from Gobo.)
GOBO: Spicy chocolate cake.
(Giga is absolutely disgusted by what Gobo had just said. While she doesn't say anything, the expression on her face is more than enough to convey her strong distaste for Gobo's opinion.)
GOBO: What? It's good!
The restaurant script will be continued later.
