1. Introduce yourself and your roles in the S-pop community!

Hi everybody, my name is Yooni! I used to go by some different names on the SPOP community, but over all of my accounts I've mainly focused on writing songs and making graphic designs / concept work.

2. How and when did you discover S-pop, and why did you decide to join?

I think that I discovered S-pop around a year and a half ago, around the second generation? I was looking at projects online when I saw that one of my old followers (I was in the aesthetic community) was also an S-pop Idol. I've always loved these types of projects for some reason, and when I found out about S-pop I was very enchanted almost instantly! I knew I wanted to join, so I made my first account around a year ago. I also tried to run a company and a survival show called Idol Project, but I wasn't the best at management back then lol <//3

3. What would you look for when auditioning/applying for a company?

When I audition for a company, I'd like to see a new, fresh concept with great ideas. I'd also like to see potential in the company, and have at least some hope they won't shut down right away. To sum it up, a professionally run, yet still kind and creative company catches my eye. To be honest, I also don't like it too much when companies are passive aggressive to their idols. I've seen many companies that have been somewhat rude to the people under them in groups, and that turns me away.

4. Are there any concepts you think S-pop needs more of?

Great question! I think that S-pop needs more interesting, out of this world concepts! Like everlast-labels PANDORA group for example. Just unique concepts in general though for everything, like Idol Island (my favorite survival show!) or ERIS with their roblox lookalikes. I feel like S-pop has so much untapped potential!! I know that there are many interesting ideas like award shows, or SPOP weekend, but there is so much more too! I actually tried making an S-pop magazine for the PINKPEARLS 1 year anniversary, but they disbanded right after! (I had horrible timing back then.

5. What are some new things you hope to see within the community?

Some new things I hope to see within the community are more S-Dramas, (do those count? I don't think I've ever seen an actual S-Drama episode.) survival shows, and people focusing more on “quality, not quantity.” In my opinion, a company with one successful group can go farther than another with 5 groups that may never debut! We should take on as much work as we can handle, and overloading yourself won't help anyone. I do think that we're going in a good direction though. There isn't much drama as before, and I see so many intriguing groups like SWANETTA and Hearts2Hearts will debut! I'm actually working on debut concepts for another group called “i lesra” with IRRIS lookalikes as I type right now!

ooo those are really great answers :00 moving on to the next questions! these are more related to the roles within the comm as well as companies/groups hehe ^^

6. What is your favorite role within the S-pop community, and why? (idol, staff member, company manager etc.)
7. How do you come up with group names or ideas for groups?
8. Do you think there are too many companies in S-pop? Do you think that company owners in S-pop should put more thought into the consideration of starting a company?
9. What is your take on mixed lookalike groups, and do you think companies should host more?
10. Following the previous question, are there any specific group lookalikes that you would like to see (more of) within the industry?

6. What is your favorite role within the S-pop community, and why? (idol, staff member, company manager etc.)

My favourite role within the S-pop community has to be the role of an idol! I don't like to sing that much online, but idols put so much work into group debuts and there are so many amazing idols in this community. Graphic designers / M/V makers come in a close second though, and some of the most amazing songs by S-pop groups often have amazing graphics to go with them!

7. How do you come up with group names or ideas for groups?

To be honest? When I come up with group concepts, I often take inspiration from real life group concepts, and add my own flair! I try to look at everything around me for inspiration, from school, to songs, and sometimes even art and paintings! Group names are a bit harder for me, and I often get group names from the concept. For example, I was working on debuting a TWICE lookalike group called 9UBBLEGUM. I tried to give the group a “sweet” concept, so I picked the name bubblegum. Then, since twice had 9 members, I substituted the first B for a 9 to show that.

8. Do you think there are too many companies in S-pop? Do you think that company owners in S-pop should put more thought into the consideration of starting a company?

In my honest opinion, I do feel mixed on it. There are so many companies that shut down almost immediately… While I do believe company owners should put more thought into the consideration of starting a company, you can't really stop people from making one, can you? Also, some companies get banned too, which should also be taken into consideration. While I do believe that there are too many companies in S-pop, we can't immediately fix this problem. In my own, personal experience, I made a company when I wasn't ready and paid the price. Maybe, when people leave and they need to shut their company down, they should direct idols to another open company?

9. What is your take on mixed lookalike groups, and do you think companies should host more?

Wow! I haven't heard of a mixed lookalike group in a while, I believe there were more around the second-third generation? While they seem incredibly hard to run, and making an M/V would be almost impossible to happen, they could give idols more freedom to choose who they want to be in a group. They seem like an interesting idea, and companies should host more… but only if they're ready for the extra work that comes with it.

10. Following the previous question, are there any specific group lookalikes that you would like to see (more of) within the industry?

Good question! There are some groups that would be intriguing to see more lookalikes for. You know, not so big that everyone does them, but still somewhat niche to add an element of uniqueness to the group. Lately I've seen more KATSEYE lookalikes, which I appreciate. I haven't seen much STAYC or Girls Generation though! And Kep1er would be interesting as well. (I see a lot of le sserafim lookalikes as well)
