With the change to purple, I think that there should be a purple colored Scratch Mascot character to represent Scratch's purple color pallet. Additionally, a green mascot to represent the green flag would be a cool idea, said mascot could be designed after Giga in a way that makes Giga represent the stop sign.

If a green mascot and a purple mascot are added, then there'd be a mascot for every color of the rainbow. There's already two orange mascots (Scratch and Pico) as well as a gray one (Nano), a green one as well as a purple one would be a nice addition to complete the rainbow. While one easily could recolor any existing Scratch mascot to these colors, it'd be nice to introduce some new mascots! More sprite options for people to use in their projects is always good, and more mascots for Scratch would be fun!

When/if 4.0 is a thing, I do think there should be a new mascot to commemorate its release. Perhaps the constantly requested Scratch Dog? Or another made up creature like the existing ones?

With purple and green being such important colors to Scratch, it'd make a lot of sense to have mascot characters who are based upon those colors!

i like the idea of new mascots for new versions, and i am afraid of scratch dog. terrified, actually. i better lock my doors and windows.

Maybe Zetta and Peta? They are both prefixes of bytes (which I believe is the theme).

Finally, an actual mascot suggestion that makes sense
I like the idea of the characters all being colours of the rainbow and also aligning with different aspects of Scratch! I think it's possible if they were somehow indroduced alongside Scratch 4.0, then they could possibly be used to introduce new features or updates to the featues that correspond to their colours.
My main issue with many other mascot suggestions is that they seem pointless and just like making a mascot for the sake of it, meanwhile these ones seem to actually have purpose, especially if they're being used for the implementation of 4.0

Yes! I thought a purple mascot would be a good choice to represent Scratch being purple. And then I realized that we have mascots for ALMOST every color of the rainbow, we are just missing purple and green.
A green mascot would work well to represent the green flag. Perhaps it could be holding a green flag as well.

Edit: a mascot for each color of the rainbow also would be good for representing Scratch’s message of including everyone. It also is nice to have every color of the rainbow represented, I love rainbow themed characters/groups of characters. It’s weird that there’s two mascots who are orange! Not that I have a problem with it, I’d just like more colors. Green and purple are two of my favorite colors!

I could see Scratch Dog being an April Fools thing, like with the Neigh Pony, perhaps it could be called the Bark Dog?

scratch is already neglecting their characters who isnt scratch cat do we really need more mascots

tbh im not against the idea of adding more characters but making them mascots also? and for the rainbow thing, if purple and green do get added that means we're only literally missing indigo (but for the extended rainbow, we'd need pink, brown, white and black which is far too many imo)

I don't think we'd need indigo, I mean the colour was literally added to the rainbow just to match up with the number of planets.

Well indigo and voilet are kinda completly the same as purple. So making one purple maskot makes more sense than having two maskots that have the same colour, but in SLIGHTLY different hews.

Isaac Newton proposed several colours for the rainbow, because he held beliefs in the mystical significance of the number seven -because of the seven planets and the seven main music notes and a bunch of other things I can't get into rn-. So decided to split purple into indigo and violet.

Anyway if you actually look at a real rainbow, you can't tell the difference between the indigo and violet in it (because there is none). And as I said before, having two mascots with such similar yet different colours just doesn't feel right. I mean they should be very easy to differentiate and keeping all the colours far apart makes that easier.
