Remember that part of this is the custom color picker. Having preset themes is very nice and convenient, but, before you go crazy creating a bunch of different preset ideas, remember that having all of these would bloat the amount of preset themes, and thus bloat the related UI, when the user can make any color they want and the presets (and the related UI) aren't necessary. The amount of presets should be kept somewhat simple. I think this is a good idea; someone had the idea to make the block colors presets, which fits very nicely with Scratch, but the argument could be made that these are more bright and saturated than some users might want, so I think that these natural, more toned-down colors would also be good presets. But don't go overboard and create dozens and dozens of them when you only actually need a few, as they could clog up an interface which should be kept simple, so that new users can use it without any guidance or being overwhelmed.

I also have the suggestion that users be able to favorite some number of colors so that they can easily come back to them, without having to re-input their hex-code.

I agree with your statements. I think if we have the 3.0 blue and purple as presets, and an ability to save other colors, that would be enough. At the most, there could be a 2.0 color preset as well– more than three or four presets is probably stretching it.

Support! Custom colors is nice cuz (in my opinion) I don't like the purple. That's why I use Scratch you know what. For dark mode, there are people who are sensitive to bright lights but still want to code on Scratch

I thought the blue one just looked blue to people with blue-yellow colorblindness, while the purple looked grey? (the name blue-yellow is a bit misleading by the way)

maybe there's just a set of premade themes (like the scratch costumes and sounds) and you can import images or make your own in the scratch editor.

I do miss the blue theme, but I wouldn’t exactly say the current purple theme is worse. Support anyways.
