Sending a link to students to join my class.

I have tried something with Scratch but need your help to sort it as it hasn't worked and I'm not technical enough to know what to do next.

I have set up a teacher account in Scratch where I can set up my own class and the children can create their own logins without emails and without using any personal information. This is so that they can save work and continue with it at a later time.

The children clicked on the link that I shared with them so that they could join the class. When they clicked on the link, within Scratch, it came up with a message saying . Whoops! Our server is scratching its head. We couldn't find the page you're looking for. Check to make sure you've typed the URL correctly.

Seeing as I copied it directly from the Scratch page, I can't understand why it is not working.

Has anyone got any ideas?

Many thanks

So that may be the problem. Scratch doesn't use personal information against you, and Scratch says you should have an email. That MAY be the problem, not having an email doesn't allow them. You could use Contact Us and ask them. You can also make a non-teacher account and non-student accounts and make a studio as a classroom. The reason why is because there is a group called ESSA who hacks student accounts and gets them terminated by spamming.

I don't think an email is required for student accounts.

First of all,

this is not true, they are just kids who think they are cool. If you want to avoid it just have your students make strong passwords. I reccomend the horsebatterystaplecorrect method (tell them to take four random English words and put them together, it makes hard to guess but easy to remember passwords)

Second, about the link. I am not sure why it is not working, but I am pretty sure there is another method, although it is a bit more involved. I am not a teacher account so I don't know the specifics, but you can probably check the page on the scratch wiki.

You could upload a CSV file to scratch containing student usernames and passwords, so everyone can login without the link.

I see a number of student accounts associated with your email - but the class they are associated with was closed so the accounts are no longer accessible.

If you are still having issues - use the Contact Us link (at the bottom of every page, too) to message the Scratch Team directly.
