Hello there, it’s a pleasure to meet you! You can call me Hope, and this is my eighth (?) SWC session. I think. I’ve been doing this on and off since July 2021, but it’s been in these last couple of sessions where I’ve actually made a great effort to participate in everything that’s going on, and I’ve really been loving it. I’m so excited to be in Adventure this session – Adventure for the win!
A quick info dump about me: my preferred pronouns are they/them, and I’m 15.
Some more on my hobbies:
I love anything and everything music-related, from playing an instrument to singing. Well, maybe I don’t love singing, but I do enjoy being in school choirs and such. I play the clarinet and piano, and I’m part of a few orchestras on clarinet, bass clarinet, and tenor saxophone. It’s quite the combination, but right now my orchestra is doing Mahler 3 and wow, it is long. I suppose it is the longest symphony in classical repertoire for a reason, but still. 1 hour and 40 minutes for a single symphony? I expect I’ll grow to enjoy it as we rehearse more though.
I also love to listen to music, especially rock. My favourite band is definitely Radiohead, but I also really enjoy The Smiths, Arctic Monkeys, Hozier, and Chappell Roan. If anyone has any recommendations, I’d love to hear them! Musicals are another thing I like to listen to. I haven’t seen too many, and a lot of the ones I have seen are due to the annual school production, which I play in the orchestra for. I like Jesus Christ Superstar, Hamilton, and Les Mis, but I’d love to see Miss Saigon or Phantom of the Opera.
I also enjoy reading. Unfortunately, my stack of library books has been dwindling over the past few weeks as my area’s libraries are switching to a new library system, so my book requests aren’t going through too quickly, but that’s fine. Right now I’m not actually reading anything, which is a surprise (I need to remedy that soon) but I’m always on the hunt for more books to read. Currently I’m looking for a secondhand copy of Notes from Underground – I read about half of it from the library until I needed to return it, but I have a feeling I’m going to want a physical copy to actually own. So far, no luck, especially as I’m looking for a particular translation, but hopefully I’ll find it soon!
Speaking of reading, I read far too much fanfiction. But what can I say, marauders-era Harry Potter fanfiction is just something else.
I also really like video games (to the despair of my parents). Recently I’ve started playing Book of Hours, which is a really amazing game where you play as a librarian cataloguing books and exploring the lore of the abandoned house in which you’ve been sent to. Honestly, I can’t describe the game because it’s so different to typical games but I wholeheartedly recommend it!
Since I’m only halfway to 1k words (how?? I feel as if I’ve been writing for hours) I suppose I’ll talk about school. Right now things are actually going quite well. I have far too much art homework, partly because I do nothing in class and have to catch up at home, but apart from that I’ve had a lot of free time on my hands. I’m really enjoying chemistry and maths at the moment, but surprisingly enough, I don’t actually enjoy English lessons in school. I know, I’m literally in SWC right now, and I do really enjoy reading, writing, and all those English/language oriented things, but the stuff we do in school is So. Boring. But that’s enough of a rant about English. Music, maths, and computer science are both really calm lessons where the teachers don’t really care what you do as long as you get the work done, which I really appreciate.
Still over 300 words to go. I think this is the point where I start regurgitating random thoughts in the hopes of reaching 1k words.
Oh yeah, I love fountain pens. That was a random thing to say, but they are absolutely one of the best writing implements. I own quite a modest collection, although my dad sometimes gives me some of his old fountain pens for me to use. I have both a Lamy 2000 and a Parker Sonnet from him, and a TWSBI Eco which I got myself. They’re my pride and joy. However, I’m mostly into this hobby for the inks. I love all the types of inks available – chameleon, shading, sheening, shimmer, archival – and I’d love to have a massive collection of them. Unfortunately, I can’t find many ink sample shops located in the UK, so I think my dreams of getting the more fancy inks will have to wait for a bit.
That gives me another topic of conversation – I love things to do with space, and funnily enough there’s a fountain pen ink brand, Colorverse, that creates ink related to and inspired by space. It’s a really niche combination of two of my favourite hobbies, but unfortunately those inks cost a fortune. Well, maybe someday. Anyway, I’m just generally fascinated by space and how everything works. I suppose that extends to my general interest in maths and science.
So close! Alright, here’s a random list of things about me to reach 1000 words:
- I love making lists
- I know some HTML and CSS, and I actually have a site! It’s a work in progress though, maybe I’ll share it one day. Scratch won't let me say it though
- I love plants, but it’s a struggle for me to keep even one alive. I’m surprised my potted Flaming Katy has survived for a couple of months now – probably a first for me
- I love drying flowers. Actually, today I’ve just finished drying a bunch of roses that my dad got my mum for Valentine’s Day.
And that’s my 1k intro done. Hope to see you around
part two:
That's a good question. Honestly, I'm not quite sure, since I feel I've listed quite a wide and eclectic variety of things. But, maybe a small village with houses in a vague Gothic Revival style. Lots of spires and towers, absolutely.

‧₊ ˚ ⊹ ࣭୨ ASSIGNMENT 1 ୧ ⊹ ˚₊‧
Hello, hello, hello! I was gonna write this at 12am March 1st but I decided I actually care about my health and decided to go to sleep. So, I am now writing this at 8:49 am instead. Anyways, to stop getting sidetracked, my name is Mildred! My online name, that is, not my legal name. You don’t get to know my legal name. I use she/they pronouns. This is my second time co-leading, and my third session. My first session was July 24, where I was a camper in gothic. Second session was November 24, where I was co-leading sci-fi and did some silly time travel shenanigans. Third session is…This session! I will be co-leading Fantasy (the cabin that is undeniably going to win by the way….) and no spoilers but we’ll be up to some silly shenanigans.
Let’s talk about what I like reading, since I think it’s a requirement to enjoy reading in order to be a swc-er /j. My favorite author is Mei Hachimoku, whose works I have become obsessed with. I watched the movie The Tunnel to Summer, The Exit of Goodbyes (my favorite movie.) on the plane, I really liked it so the moment I got home I hopped on Google and searched it up. Most people said that the novel was better so I went “huh, guess I’m reading the novel.” So I did, and it was the best piece of literature I have ever consumed. I proceeded to read Wait for me Yesterday in Spring and also An Autumn in Amber, a Zero Second Journey. I still need to get around to reading their series, The Mimosa Confessions. Personally, I think the Spring book was the most well written, but my favorite is the Summer book since I have an emotional attachment to it. I always go back to reread my favorite parts! After reading the book, I realized that the movie cut out…a lot of stuff. Most of my favorite scenes were cut out and my favorite character got 5 minutes of screen time. I also proudly have the first Tunnel to Summer fanfic on ao3, though I think the fic is kinda bad but I’m not deleting it because I’m keeping that first title.
Speaking of movies, let’s talk about my favorites. My favorite movie is The Tunnel to Summer (though I wish it was more true to the novel…) Some other movies I like are Suzume, A Silent Voice and A Whisker Away. I watched Words Bubble Up like Soda Pop, but personally I thought it was pretty average. One movie that I absolutely HATED was 5 Centimeters per Second. I think it’s just because I’m stupid and didn’t get the story and also because the genre just wasn’t my type, but it was just really boring to me and slow-paced. The only merit it had was being really pretty, so might as well make it my wallpaper since that’s the only use it has /j. I want to watch Grave of the Fireflies and also I Want to Eat Your Pancreas (INSANE TITLE BUT I SWEAR IT’S INTERESTING)
Speaking of IWTEYP, I actually read the book! I really did like it, though I didn’t get as emotional as I thought I would. I admit I teared up a little but not full-on sobbing. I didn’t like Sakura (The female protag) for a bit, so that’s probably why the ending didn’t get me. I did want to check out Yoru Sumino’s other books, so I recently bought I Had That Same Dream Again to hopefully read after I finish the first volume of The Mimosa Confessions.
My favorite anime is Detective Conan! (Also known as Case Closed in the U.S.) I am currently obsessed with it and my friends in real life can attest to that. I have a Detective Conan plushie and several figurines. I also have keychains of Shinichi and Ran (characters from the show) on the zipper of my chromebook case and the zipper of my pencil pouch. I also say Ah-le-le (The main character’s catchphrase) in real life because I think it’s funny. I think anyone in real life who has known me for more than an hour knows about me being a Detective Conan enthusiast. My favorite character is Kaito Kuroba, commonly known as Kaito Kid because…I don't know, he’s just silly. I also have his and Shinichi’s (the protagonist) birthdays memorized. They’re June 21st and May 4th respectively.
My favorite food is Banh Phuc Linh, it’s a Vietnamese food that I’m too lazy to put the accents on right now. Oh yeah I’m Vietnamese by the way. I’ve made it with my mom and it’s super easy to make and they’re very delicious! They’re powdery but also melt in your mouth and they’re just very yummy. The only thing I don’t like about them is how when making them you have to knead the liquid into the flour because I just don't like how the texture of the flour feels in between my fingers. Totally worth it for the food though.
My favorite games are Food Fantasy, Genshin Impact, Love Nikki, Project Sekai, and Daybreak 2. I haven’t touched Genshin and Love Nikki in a while but I play the other games. Kanade is my favorite PJSK character. I am not that good at PJSK since I can not handle a difficulty over 26. I like the art in Food Fantasy and the fighting is surprisingly nice despite the fact you don’t really interact with the characters that much during fighting. My favorite Daybreak 2 character is my QUEEN Serena Wolfe. My friend’s favorite is Kyle Wolfe so I act like I hate him as a joke though I actually have neutral opinions towards him.
My favorite number is 1412 for reasons due to the fact that it happened to be the number used on a certain phantom thief’s (*ahem*, kaito kid) signature. I was originally going to make this 1412 words because it would be funny but I decided not to because uh…I don’t know what to talk about. 1025 words is close enough, right?

For the first daily of March, we’d like to ask you to introduce yourself in the main cabin; share your interests, and maybe respond to others!

Daily #1
3/1/2025
154 words
You walk into through the doors of the main cabin, pushing past the bustling crowd of SWCers lined up near the bulletin board, where the first daily was being announced. Stacks of paper lined the walls, the black cords of chargers snaking along the edges of the room. You find yourself at somewhat of a clearing, the round tables relatively empty—for now.
“Hi!” You spin and see a dark haired girl waving from a table in the corner. “You can come over and sit next to me. Unless you’re waiting for someone- That’s fine too.”
You shake your head and walk over. She pats the spot next to her and slides her notebooks to the side as you slide into the seat.
“I’m Eevee, she/her, and I’m in Dystopian! What cabin are you in?” she asks, tilting her head slightly.
A. Dystopian
B. Mystery or Sci-fi
C. Fantasy, Illu-fi, Myth, Bi-fi, Journalism, Fan-fi, Action, or Adventure

1k 3k Word intro || 3269 words
Ah, here you are. Only took you 3 months, and you find me half awake on the edge of my bed, listening to Paper Mario music. Honestly, what other state would you find me in?
Oh, wait, you don’t even know who I am? You’re claiming I’m keeping you captive here? Uh….
That may or may not be true. Well, while you are my quite literal captive audience, you might as well get to know me…
It all started over 15 years ago, where, poof, I suddenly existed. Just out of thin air or something. I dunno. I started life off as , however, nowadays, you can call me Mango or Leif. If you know me from any of the past 8 or so sessions being called Mango, and are wondering why the heck I suddenly go by the name Leif, well, stick around.
One other change has come up with the way I identify myself since the last time I had done one of these. I used to identify as non-binary, but as of recently, I’ve started coming to terms with the fact that I might actually be transmasc (still non-binary, but with a hint of guy), and I now use they/he pronouns.
Now, you might be wondering, dear reader, why am I listening to… *checks playlist* “It’s Battle Time” (Wait, it’s actually called that? Huh… you learn something new every day… and today I learned that new thing early) from Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door? If you are asking this, chances are, you’ve never spoken a single word to me. If you have spoken to me and you still don’t know why, well congratulations, I’ve somehow kept my obsession that’s more obvious than telling a new Paper Mario fan apart from a group of old Paper Mario fans a secret to you.
I LOVE video games. I freaking love them. Especially a little known series called Paper Mario, a spin-off series from the beloved Mario franchise. If you weren’t aware, it’s Mario… and he’s… PAPER!? (I love quoting that Thousand Year Door remake trailer) Jokes aside, Paper Mario typically goes on wacky adventures, saving the world either from corrupted Bowser, or someone who is just about ready to destroy the world/universe, or a racist guy. No, seriously, the plot of Origami King is just Mario beating up a racist dude who tried to assimilate all of paper kind.
Speaking of Paper Mario, have you heard that it sucks and you should play Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling? Ok, no, Paper Mario doesn’t suck, although some people would leave you to believe that it does indeed suck, but Bug Fables is basically Paper Mario but the art is less professional but the gameplay and story is anywhere between 1.25x and 10x better depending on what Paper Mario game you compare it to. It’s a game that mimics that classing Paper Mario feel, but it’s about bugs, and a plant, and fighting some god on a kitchen counter, and zombies at one point. I will not elaborate on any of that. Play it for yourself if you’re intrigued. In short, best game ever. I have the limited edition physical copy, that’s how much I adore it!
Anyways, that’s enough advertisements. Now, let’s go see my video game collection.
Now that we have snuck downstairs, take a look upon my collection. Boxes stacked on top of boxes, each box having their own console with their own set of games. You’ve got consoles as well known as the Nintendo Wii, the XBox 360, and whatever else is incredibly common. You’ve got more obscure consoles such as the Sega Nomad, the Atari Lynx, the Panasonic 3DO, and even the fabled Virtual Boy. Fun fact, that last one only sold 770 thousand units. Compare that to the best-selling console, the PS2, at over 160 million units. Currently trying to obtain a Gameboy and Gameboy Colour, and keeping my eyes out for the Nintendo 64DD and that cool Gamecube that Panasonic or Sony did a collaboration with. So, uh, yeah, ask me anything about video game consoles. Likelihood is I might have an answer for you.
(No, I swear, I do not have a problem… I’m perfectly normal I swear)
Some one-off things I want to mention about my obsession with video games:
1. I love Kirby. However, I’ve only ever really liked 2 games. Those games being Return to Dreamland Deluxe and Forgotten Land. Kirby as a concept is amazing. A cute pink puffball that is heavily targeted towards young casual gamer girls. However, by the end of the game, there’s some insane lore, creepy boss fights, and outright terrifying implications. Like, getting corrupted by your own beauty, whatever the heck Magolor went through, literal dark matter trying to take over the universe MULTIPLE TIMES, a science lab experiment gone wrong to the point of human kind fleeing and the Waddle Dees are then used as energy sources. And this isn’t even the darkest it gets. And it’s ok, because the little gamer girls either won’t make it that far, or it’ll fly over their heads.
2. I want to create my own video game. The idea of making animations or comics, or something more creative with my future has always been something I’ve dreamed to do. Although, after years of contemplation, my ideal future would be to become an indie game developer. Bug Fables really set off that light bulb of “Huh, I can make my own game about something I legitimately like, share my idea with thousands/millions of people, and that can literally be my job”. Chemistry be darned, as Leif would say, I’m getting into the coding industry!
3. Oh, what’s that? I just said the name Leif again? Aw crud, I forgot to get back to that, didn’t I? Welp, here goes. I went on a huge rant about Bug Fables, correct? Well, I forgot to mention the main trio’s names; Vi, Kabbu, and Leif. Leif is a blue geometer moth and- (sorry, had to cut out a huge rant about my favourite card-game-loving, sleepy, hungry wannabe father of all tiny creatures because you’d get bored, and it’d include spoilers). Me being the fellow transmasc I am, I needed a new name, to first use online, and perhaps slowly incorporate it into my daily life to hopefully one day replace my actual name. I suck at finding names for characters, nevermind myself. At one point, I was tempted to go nameless. Although, Leif, being my favourite character, and coincidentally also a name I really liked, I asked a few people about whether it fit me. The consensus was a surprising yes from the 3 people I asked. So, for now, I’m using it online to see if it truly fits me, or if I’m going to die of cringe every time it’s used on me because everyone in my vicinity knows exactly where that name comes from.
Oh dear, what is that annoying noise? Ah, of course. It’s my cat. Gotta love cats that are growing up and begging to… go see the outside world. Two out of four of my cats are currently in that phase where they do that weird meow non-stop to the point of insanity.
That aside, my 4 cats are wonderful. One of them is 3(?) years old, they’re a calico tabby named Spot, after the spot on her nose. The second oldest is named Caffeine, a tabby that looks more like a marble cake than a tabby cat, who is nearly 2 years old. Neo, a tabby that looks nearly identical to Caffeine, is roughly 9 months old now. And then the youngest, Polly, is a calico tabby with very few tabby markings (only two spots on her head, a small one on her back, and a few on other miscellaneous parts of her body), and is 4-5 months old. All of these cats are actually direct descendants from Spot. She’s had a lot of litters to say the least. 2 of them were from last year alone.
I’ve had cats since I was 7 years old. Well, that’s actually a lie, because as a baby, we had a cat named Ethan until I was about 5. But I didn’t like him because I was a silly child who’d do silly things to it and he’d scratch me. When I was 7, however, we got 2 cats which we named Oreo (a tuxedo cat) and Chocolate (a tortoiseshell cat). Very creative, I know. Eventually, they had kittens, we gave those away, repeated the process 3 times, and eventually, we kept some of the kittens, and they grew up to have kittens of their own. Repeat the process of generations upon generations of cats being created, most of them being given away, some staying with us, and a few unfortunately running off, as they’re all partially outdoor cats. At this point we’re… I want to say at the 5th or 6th generation of cats, not including the years where we gave away all of the cats of a generation and/or only cats that already had kittens in the past had a litter.
My favourite cat we’ve ever had (yes, I have favourites), has to be one I named Yeshi (after what I named my baby Yoshi in my first ever Paper Mario TTYD playthrough). Born nearly 2 years ago, he was a compassionate little kitty. He looked pretty similar to Polly, both in markings and stature. Unfortunately, last year, he was taken by a fox. The last piece of media I got of him is a video of me petting him, and him touching my hand with his paw every time I stopped, just to show how much of a sweetheart he is.
But, enough about depressing times. Overall, my cats are amazing. I would not trade them for anything!

Oh, oops, that appeared out of nowhere…
Fine… I’ll talk about drawing.
I’ve technically been drawing ever since I was a toddler. However, the way I drew a person back then is I took the person’s favourite colour, and drew a circle, a big piece of fluff or 2 lines going down on the head for hair, two dots, a smile, either a box or a triangle for the torso, and sticks for legs and arms. I had a very specific art style.
Eventually, I stopped drawing casually. I came back to it for a little while when I was 6 or 7, and drew a horrible portrait of my sister in my math notebook, and valentine’s day, easter, and probably christmas cards for everyone in my class. I stopped yet again.
Then, when I was 10, I started forming a really distinct, yet terrible looking style. Every time I saw a drawing, I could so easily tell whether or not it was drawn by me. And then I joined Scratch at the age of 12. I got very inspired by the fellow art community, and started drawing again. At first, it was cats. And, well, they are definitely cats…
Then, I started drawing humans traditionally. They were… definitely humans… I started trying to form an art style, the heads of the characters getting tinier, the anatomy getting ever so slightly better, and even eventually making my own “mini-style” as I like to call it. Nowadays, my art looks like… well, what I showed you before. I especially like making fanart, now that I am much better at using a reference relatively effectively.
I also brought it upon myself to be the professional cake topper artist in the family. What the heck does this mean? Well, a few years back, my grandma started decorating cakes to be whatever us children (me, my sister, and two cousins) wanted. Usually, this was done with fondant, sometimes icing. However, as she grew more comfortable with using her new cricut machine, and the more we started wanting ice cream cakes, she moved away from making the designs straight on the cakes and more on making toppers out of inedible materials and sticking them into the cake with those big toothpick things. Some themes for designs she made include: Science, Geometry Dash, Construction Sites, Transformers, Super Mario, Paper Mario: The Origami King, Splatoon 3, and Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. However, being the blooming artist I was, I one day asked my grandmother if I could take a stab at designing one and sending it to her to print out. (Did I do this to make sure she wouldn’t mess up any of the characters on my Bug Fables cake? Maybe…) So, I got to work, and it turned out well! She even started using the designs for birthday cards and t-shirts as gifts (although she messed up my t-shirt and made Leif pet absolutely nothing when he was intended to be petting Chompy… but that’s just me being nitpicky). It worked out so well, that I brought it upon myself to be the official birthday cake topper designer. After my Bug Fables themed topper, I made my sister a Splatoon 3 Side Order design, skipped on my younger cousin’s topper because he wanted Transformers and there was no way I was going to do that, and… then my older cousin.
My older cousin is a very indecisive child. My grandma made t-shirts for Christmas, everyone’s saying something related to their favourite thing. My sister’s was about Splatfest, mine was about TTYD, etc. My cousin, however, gave no input. So his shirt just said “Idk”. It IMMEDIATELY became an inside joke in the family. And since his birthday was approaching, I jokingly said “I guess I know what your b-day topper theme is gonna be”, and he GENUINELY LIKED IT!
So, I drew up a bunch of characters we both liked, made them all in neutral/confused poses, and placed them on the letters, “I”, “D”, and “K”. And he was very pleased. Currently, I’m working on both mine and my sister’s, my sister’s being a crossover of Bug Fables and Splatoon. Very excited to get started on that! >
Oh, what’s that? We’ve still got time despite being 2300 words in? Well, good thing I’ve got other things to share! Here’s some more rants:
Wanna see my old clarinet that I haven’t touched in literally years? Yeah, I hate it. I got it thinking I was going to be so dedicated to the clarinet. Yeah, no. After 7th grade music class, I tried my best to get out of it somehow. And since I was good at playing the clarinet, my only escape in 8th grade was to beg my music teacher to play percussion. …I didn’t get the role because “people who weren’t given a chance before should get the opportunity first”. Fair, but… me no like clarinet…
Insert me wallowing in misery in music class until…
“Hey, wanna play drums in band?”
You know that I accepted that immediately. And y’know what, it was the best experience I ever had with a musical instrument! I picked up on it really easily (compared to the folks playing the clarinet, at least… man, those people could never keep up). Unfortunately, my little percussion journey came to an end as I graduated from elementary school (we don’t have middle school here, it’s elementary up until 8th grade).
High school rolls around and I’m in music class. Known by little, I had actually tried the trumpet at the end of 8th grade, and was able to pick it up with relative ease, almost playing some of the simpler songs we did in band after a couple hour’s worth of practice. So, while I did volunteer to be a percussionist, several others wanted the same, so I became a trumpet player. I’m pretty sure everyone playing the trumpet had percussion as their first choice, shown by their constant replacing of the actual percussionists and lack of desire to play the trumpet. I, however, liked the trumpet, and got top of my class. Actually, top of grade 9 music in general. In 10th grade, this year, I was stupid enough to not choose music in favour of some program that’ll “enhance my future” that costs a ton of money starting next year. So, I gave up on that, got some electives that I sort of wanted, and immediately chose music as an elective for next year. Can’t wait for that!
I’m a nerd when it comes to video games, sure, however, I also am a bit of a nerd when it comes to the lgbtq+ community. I don’t know every bit of the science behind it, sure, but what I do know is a ton of labels and stuff. If you picked a pride flag at random, out of any of the coined ones, I’d like to say I have probably a 50% chance of getting it right. Why am I so into that stuff? Well, I couldn’t tell you the specifics, but I can tell you that I’m part of the community myself. The labels I currently identify with is pansexual/romantic, quoiromantic, ace-spec (not sure where on the ace spectrum), non-binary/genderqueer (I use them interchangeably), and transmasc (likely libramasculine or something). So, yeah, I do have a couple of less common labels myself.
Fun fact, I used to identify as cassgender, until I realized I did genuinely care if someone referred to me as a female.
You know how I’m in SWC because I like writing? Well, that obviously means I like to read too, right? WRONG! Now, don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind picking up a book every once in a while and then reading that book obsessively until I’ve finished. But I’ve also had my fair share of times where I stop halfway, and never return. Especially, for some reason, for the second book of a series. It’s happened 3 times now. My way of consuming stories is usually through rpgs and reading silly little stories online, whether it is in SWC, or one of those infamous fanfic places (though, the latter, not so often).
My career on Scratch has definitely been interesting. I’ve been on Scratch since late 2018, and created 3 accounts before finally finding out about the community in 2021. That’s where I grew my passion for art (and animating at a point, but I don’t really animate anymore), found a love for community helping (mainly the SDS, and FPC related studios), and made some awesome online friends! Once I felt like I finally knew enough, I decided to start over. Make a brand new account and begin making quality projects, probably aesthetic projects (which I never followed through on by the way, if you couldn’t guess). I paused on community helping, and very quickly found Girls Who Don’t Fit In (gwdfi for short).
During my roughly year and a half on gwdfi (late 2022 is when I left, although I returned for a little while afterwards), I decided to leave it, mainly because of my new online friend, who nowadays goes by Connie. I started spending more time in the community helping portion of the community, and somehow became an SDS curator/manager/whatever later in 2023. And in 2024, I became a YAB member! I’m much past my prime in terms of community helping, but I’m still here, so… yeah.
Now that I’ve reached a whole 3000+ words, I do believe that I’ve ranted enough, and bid you adieu. So, see ya. Can’t wait for what this session has to offer!

♫ 01 - 1,471/1,000 words - 1k word intro ♫
HI ALL <3 my name is pepper, i go by she/her pronouns, and i’m a your lovely christian reader, writer, and musician ;D this will be my … *counts on fingers* … seventh swc session??? i’ve camped twice, led once, and co-led four times :0 since this session is my two year anniversary, i expect you all to make it my best session yet >:0 if i recall correctly, and i’ve done the 1k word intro challenge twice before, but failed miserably last session, so this time around i hope to change that ;D alrighty, i suppose it’s time for the rambly part of this intro, fasten your seatbelts, friends lol <3
i’ve decided to go with a little layout this time to ensure a good plan going into this! if i start talking about things not in this plan, something went wrong :') be prepared for paragraphs upon paragraphs about: my favorite books, all the sports i’ve played, each of my classes and my opinions on them and the teachers, my goals for this session, my friends maybe possibly???, my favorite foods, my favorite music artists, the instruments i play and an exciting event coming up, and finallyyy my dream future!!! that should be enough to get me to 1k words? i’m quite the yapper, so i suppose we’ll find out here shortly!
my favorite books
i’ll start with my favorite genres to read in just to give all you lovelies some background info ehehe - this year i’ve really loved fantasy, hi fi, romance, and (murder) mystery, but i also really enjoy real fi, dystopian, and very occasionally horror :0
i’m currently reading the ragamuffin gospel, and plan to start the gilded wolves (suggested to me by the epic river) either tonight or tomorrow!! my favorite books of all time are one for the murphys by lynda mullaly hunt, the six of crows duology by leigh bardugo, THE INHERITANCE GAMES SERIES HAVE MY HEART RN- I JUST FINISHED THE GRANDEST GAME AND WOW OMG by jennifer lynn barnes, a mango shaped space by wendy mass, the seventh wish by kate messner, legend by marie lu, the front desk by kelly yang, the boy in the striped pajamas by john boyne, and the violinist of auschwitz by ellie midwood.
this year, i set myself a reading goal as a new year’s resolution of sorts, and so far it’s going great!! i’m on book 13 of 75, and page 3804 of 10k! i realize 10k is a low page goal now that i’m actually finishing books this year, and i think i’m going to go for 20k instead ehehe
sports!
let me take you alllll the way back to when i was about… four years old? i first started as a ballerina, then switched over to taekwondo (ikr, quite the change). i don’t remember what color belt i made it to before i went over to gymnastics, but it was like the fourth belt i think?? i got out of gymnastics to do soccer (which is by far my favorite sport), then experimented with softball and basketball in sixth grade! i decided to take a break from basketball this year, but softball season is right around the corner, and then we’re back to soccer ;D
school smh
okayyy let’s be honest here, this year has lowkey been my downfall :skull: i’m still passing all my classes, don’t worry, but my perfectionism has flared up like crazy along with an absolute motivation drain which is literally the deadliest duo ever sobbing-
my partner in crime left for a mostly online school, she still lives in town and i get to see her every so often, but it’s a bummer i don’t have her as much as i used to. she says she really enjoys this new school though, and i’m super happy she found something she actually likes. sooo, with her leaving i’ve been forced to… *gags* communicate with other people and try to make new friends???? i swear i’ve become so much more introverted than i thought i was?? so anyway, lots more challenges this year :') i have made an amazing connection with a guy though, ohoho pepper romance, this is so weird to talk about because i feel like it’s just always kept low radar?? but he’s epic and we’ve been a thing for quite a few months now ehehe <3
moving on to my thoughts about each class:
math - hate math with all my heart, the teacher is absolutely an icon though
science - one of my least favorite classes to go to, the teacher is alright
language arts - it’s a bummer that this is my least favorite class ever because the subject itself is one of my favorite things but the atmosphere and teacher is not super great
history - great class, teacher is pretty good too
p.e. - one of my favorite teachers ever, favorite class besides band
band - the greatest teacher i’ve ever had, super super amazing class
lowkey proud of myself because i only have one missing assignment right now and i have a quiz in language arts i need to retake because the teacher’s grading is superrr strict and the questions were worded so weirdly??
instruments / fun music event
OKAY SO i play alto sax mainly, although i can play a few tunes on piano, ukulele, and recorder! we have a concert coming up in a couple weeks, and i got accepted into a special band thing that’s also preforming soon <3 i can’t go into too much detail about it because i don’t want to give away exactly what it isss- no trying to stalk me please ;D but i’m really excited!!
foods
alright i’m quite the big back if i do say so myself, so let’s give you a run through of what i ate yesterdayyy (no judgement TwT) and then my favorite foods!!
alright, for breakfast i didn’t eat anything because i was rushing to a school activity lol, but i came home and put some dino chicken nuggets in the air fryer (the only correct way to eat those btw is with ketchup sooo don’t talk to me if you disagree /jjjj), and then i had a beef stick, some girl scout cookies, tuna noodles, some more girl scout cookies, and an ice cream bar!! guys don’t come at me, fridays are my days to be unhealthy- it’s my girl dinner, but, like, all day TwT
my favorite foods are dino chicken nuggets :> my dad’s shrimp alfredo is to die forrr, my mom makes amazing chicken and dumplings, i also LOVE chicken caesar salad, mini meatloaves are delicious, homemade chicken nuggets are fire, beef stroganoff and and homemade mac n cheese are just lovely!!
my favorite music artists
HOZIER BELOVED <3 he makes such great music what an icon- it was actually a few people in this camp (alia, reese, luna :eyes
that got me into listening to him!! i also love laufey, and summer suggested that in the main cabin during one session <3 noah kahan, josiah queen, and gracie abrams are also really epic!dream future
okay saving this for last because i think this will be my favorite to write eeee <3
i only have a couple years before i actually have to start adulting which is wild to me?? but, my plans are pretty amazing ;>
firstly, i’m going to live in a little cottage in the woods!!! i’m going to have two mini australian shepherds, both will be female, and one will be named tilly, the other bobby! one of the rooms in my cottage will appear to just be a normal office for, you know, office work, but if you tilt a picture frame just right, the wall will open up into my OWN PRIVATE HOME LIBRARY STUDY <333333 i’m going to be an author before i graduate highschool, publish another few books after that, become an editor, get a degree in psychology and use that for something, then maybe do something with animals (besides a vet, i literally can’t tell you how many people have suggested that- i’m telling you, no.), or be a cop?? not quite sure if i want kids yet, more leaning towards nooo, but i’d love to adopt! anyway, that’s about it for now, hope you enjoyed ;D
closing
i’m pretty sure this is 1k words? if you’ve read all this, i truly thank you and i hope you’re okay after going through this nonsensical ramble ahaha ;D although i’ve been stuck on mobile, i’ve had fun writing this!!! hope you have an amazing swc session, and i’m so excited to see what happens!! OH WAIT I FORGOT MY GOALS
goals
i want to complete 20 dailies, 2 weeklies, write 15k words, enter the writing comp, and make tons of new friends :0

March 1 Daily - 1k intro + location
Intro
Hello! I’m Nova (she/her), and I’m in the amazing Fan-Fi cabin this year! This is my fifth session of SWC - my past sessions were July 2022 in Fantasy, November 2022 in Horror, July 2023 in Mystery, and July 2024 in Gothic. (This is my first March session lol)
I’m 14 years old and in 8th grade. I’ve been writing since I was 6, where I wrote a very bad Frozen fanfic in some forensics activity kit about Elsa saving Anna from being kidnapped in a hot air balloon. Since then, I’ve written fanfics for different fandoms (mostly Warrior Cats) as well as a couple original stories.
I have autism and anxiety, and I’m obsessed with Tangled: the Series and Wicked. (Huge Cassunzel and Gelphie shipper here, by the way.) I’ve been into TTS for almost a year and Wicked since the movie came out and violently catapulted me into the fandom. I love reading fanfiction for both fandoms/ships and it takes up a lot of my free time, which I don’t have a whole lot of anymore because school is stressful. Although SWC will probably take up a lot of it, I hope to actually write something for these fandoms this session. Some of my favorite fics are “fight me, princess”, “Untangled” and “Shards” for Cassunzel and “Of Emeralds and Trumpeter Swans”, “Limited” and really all of intofiction’s works lol, for Gelphie. I’m not going to mention the site that they’re on because it’s not appropriate for Scratch (and most of these fanfics aren’t either) but I really love them.
Speaking of reading, I read actual books too (wow, who knew), with my favorite genre being fantasy. I also love dystopian books, too! I also read some sapphic romance novels. Basically, if it’s lesbian, I will read it, no or very few questions asked. My favorite books are the Renegades series by Marissa Meyer. I’m also into Warrior Cats, chugging along with the remnants of my late elementary/early middle school obsession with the series. I’ve read every book except the new graphic novels and The Elders’ Quest, which I plan to read in a couple of weeks once I finish the book I’m currently reading and one other. (I basically stack up my books in the order I got them and read them in that order)
Some of my other hobbies include art and animation. I hope to be an animator when I grow up, although I’m worried that my animation won’t be good enough. I also love sleeping, because, well, it’s amazing.
Some more random facts about me: my favorite color is purple, specifically dark bluish purple, and my favorite animals are foxes. I’m bisexual, which is probably the reason I love LGBTQ+ romance so much (see above).
I love listening to and making music! My favorite artist is Derivakat (Go check out Star Trails and Fall, they are AMAZINGGGGG)! I also listen to the Tangled the Series and Wicked soundtracks a lot, for obvious reasons, as well as Epic the Musical - I’m not as into it as I used to be, but Jorge Rivera-Herrans did make the top of my Spotify Wrapped last year. As far as making music, I am an intermediate-level pianist and a late beginner violist, having played them for almost 6 and 4 and a half years, respectively. (Although, admittedly, I probably don’t practice as much as I should.) I also love singing - I’m a mezzo-soprano (I think). As well as acting - I’m in my school’s production of Beauty and the Beast which is doing its final show tomorrow.
I am very much a cat person (as you might have been able to tell by my previously mentioned Warrior Cats obsession). It’s not that I hate dogs - I actually do like them - but cats take the throne, every time, case closed.
As far as personality, I’m INFP-T, neutral good, a Ravenclaw (although I’m not really into Harry Potter anymore), and have gotten different results from every enneagram test I have ever taken (which is three). I’m described as being smart and creative by my friends, although honestly I don’t really believe it.
As you can probably tell, I love parenthesis and use them way too often.
I live in the EST time zone (soon to be EDT, growl daylight savings time I hate you) in the northeastern United States. It’s quite cold here, there’s been snow on the ground for weeks now but I think it’s slowly melting.
Since I am running out of things to talk about, my next topic will be food. I’m vegetarian (from birth, since my parents are also vegetarian and I have no interest in eating meat anyway) and my favorite food is Mexican tostadas. Basically a tostada shell, refried beans, guacamole, this amazing tomato and onion salsa that my mom makes, and cheese. It’s AMAZING and is basically heaven on a plate for me. My favorite desserts are brownies (WITHOUT nuts) and oatmeal raisin cookies (also without nuts, but what monster puts nuts in oatmeal raisin cookies?) (psst no offense if you do this is just my opinion)
As far as religion goes, I’m agnostic, so . . . yeah. Not much to say about that
My time on Scratch has been an interesting one. I joined in second grade because some kid from school I barely knew (and still don’t know today) recommended a book on how to code so I checked it out. One of the websites it gave tutorials for was Scratch, and I started using it under the username starmoon76 and made simple games using the tutorials from the book. (Most of them are still up if you want to see them.) Eventually I started creating my own terrible games.
In 3rd grade during the pandemic, I got into Warrior Cats and started seeking out fan content on Scratch. As some of you may know, there is a lot of Warriors fan content on this site. All of this eventually led me to animation, which as mentioned above, remains one of my favorite hobbies to this day.
Whew, 1k words! I really didn’t think I would get this far. Time to do location now I guess!
Location
I said before that I love reading, so I guess a library with stacks and stacks of books about my favorite interests. Light, airy, and comfortable with pillows! And blankets! Not sure if there would even be people… I love my solitude, so probably not B)

I used to think it was just a myth: just a story told to freak out children and keep us in line.
That was before i stumbled upon the last stop. i dont remember it clearly - a school trip, getting lost, finding myself in some sort of abandoned train station. but it wasn't just ‘abandoned’. it had scratches on the walls, writing in blood, “help me” or “save me” and i stood there. mesmerised. too shaken to do anything. my blood pounded, my heart raced and i could hear screeching in the corner of my ear. the sound of a train scraping to a halt…
i want to run but my legs are stuck. i want to scream but the throat is clogged. all i can taste is the bitter taste of blood, as the door screeches open revealing the horrors that lie beneath…
i can smell it before i see it, the foul smell of something i cant place. a thick chocking stench that cloggs up ur nose and never leaves. its only when i look, when i really squint into the abyss of wts behind the wretched doors, is when i place it. its not the smell of dust, or even the smell of blood.
i smell rotten corpses.

hello hello, welcome to the crash course on eevee!! each 1k intro tends to act as a time capsule for who i am during that session of my life. and this is no exception~ starting off with the basics, i’m eevee! or elle, depends on which side of scratch you know me from. i tend to go by elle on my aesthetic set account. but regardless, i use she/her pronouns and reside in the eternal sunshine timezone, though that will change to the everlasting dora timezone in just a little bit. i am in dystopian with the best leader team: zy, yume, and sarah. i’m looking forward to this session and getting to know more swcers, returning and new alike!
speaking of swc, that's why we're here, isn't it? i've been a part of swc since way back when in 2021. i came across signups on berricake's profile. alyelle was someone i idolized and i came across her leader app. i wanted to be in mystery right away and i signed up as a backup camper! little did i know that that one fateful day would lead me to my best friends and the wonderful community that is my online home <3 i wasn't able to get into mystery as i had hoped, but i did get placed in horror. surrounded by the people who cultivated my love for this camp, we went on to do a full out roleplay post session. this was back when all managers could edit the description of studios. man, that was utter chaos. give a handful of tweens access to editing something during the pandemic? all i can say was that we wrote a lot within the span of a month. long as in longer than a magic treehouse long. long as in over 40 pages of a google doc, where i have a copy of the roleplay stored for when the studio description got too long for anyone to edit. and i found myself continuing to come back to scratch writing camp.
that leads me to november 2021, my second session, where i met a lot of people who are still around today! this includes moss (current host!), kit (current co-leader), and muxa (who is making her swc comeback and inspired me by crushing 100k words). we kinda won that session. y'know. probably the most competitive cabin i've been in, as far as going for first, and that was such a vibe.
i finally thought i was experienced enough to apply for coleader in march 2022 and i am so glad that i did. going in blind, the transition from camper to applicant was a whole whirlwind of a process. somehow, daisy offered me a position as co of contemporary (rip) and i had an amazing time on the leader team. the chaotic days of covid activity is so nostalgic <33
from there, i participated in swc casually for the next two years, only being in three sessions in 2022 and 2023 collectively. but in march 2024, i knew i was ready to come back. applying for leader this time, i was over the moon when i was given the link to the leader forum. and oh, i was not ready to start looking through all the amazing apps and decide on cos. i survived and had the most beloved cos, stingray and crim <3 i cannot tell you how lucky i was with having the two of them as coleaders in fantasy.
and since then, i've been campering in alana cabins
bi-fi july and magreal november. still rooting for magreal ftw november ‘24!! but my alana cabin streak is broken this session </3 i’m in zy's cabin, which is more than enough to make up for the amount of time that i've been allied with alana. now i have an excuse to go on full force as an enemy in attacking fanfi
but enough about swc, let's get onto some other details about me. i'm a silly little christian homeschooler! who is into way too many different hobbies and extracurriculars. starting off with hobbies, i write. who would have guessed, am i right? i also draw in my free time and recently as an illustrator! i'm working with my dance teacher to create a children's book for one of her curriculums. it's a slow moving process, but one that i am excited to embark on! i've also recently gotten procreate and i suspect that my digital art style will change a bit due to the difference in programs and brushes.
going onto other art forms, i do theater, improv, crocheting, three forms of dance, and collaging- that’s a lot, isn’t it? but my theater and improv groups are comprised of mostly the same group of people and they are all so silly <3 many inside jokes such as my brother’s improv name being alexander christopher lloyd cinderella amarite the iii. we may end up adding matt as one of his other middle names, but we’re not sure yet. and of course, my best friend and brother being me and my sister’s parents. there’s a whole lot of drama surrounding the two families in improv, especially since the next door neighbors have an absent father and an affair going on or something. there’s word on the block that a divorce is brewing… and switching to theater, i actually have a performance tonight! marking the end of my second year with this group <3 this is student directed as well, and i’m directing two of the scenes. our play is a collection of fractured fairy tales and nursery rhymes. one of the scenes that i am directing involves mary mary and peter peter, played by my sister and another friend respectively. as the director, i can make my friend speak in a southern accent for her role (suggested by her, may i add), and the rest of us can’t help but cackle backstage. the other scene that i am directing is a twilight zone spoof featuring my brother and another girl as a couple. my friend is 100% jealous that he’s ‘cheating’ on her. ironically, he’s a husband twice throughout our performance and both times it’s with the same girl, one who isn’t usually regarded as his wife like my friend is.
as far as dance goes, i do ballet, tap, and jazz! i started roughly 6 months ago, i would say. My favorite is probably jazz, though i do love them all a lot. Starting next week, i’m going to be going to dance 3 times a week for make up lessons and my sibling dance. All 3 of my siblings also do dance.
speaking of which, i have 3 siblings! and i love them all so very much <3 most of my extracurriculars are with them as well, we tend to be a package deal. and our extracurriculars are mostly with the same group of people. Dance, voice, theater, improv, piano, etc… though i do piano with another teacher than they do. i am the eldest of four and i have a brother and two sisters. we’re all very silly and have a messed up sense of humor, but that’s what makes us us!! my brother actually did swc back in july ‘22, but he wasn’t really active and uh- wasn’t really interested akljdsfad-
and this wouldn’t be a 1k intro without me talking about all of my current interests, so buckle up! this is the part that changes the most from session to session and i would like to document it. if you’ve even somewhat been around me or seen my profile within the last year, i hope you’ve caught on that i am obsessed with natasha romanoff/black widow, clint barton/hawkeye, or just clintasha in general… and the color green. i live laugh love the color green. and i have a handful of clintasha aus set to be planned and written this month! i’ve worked on my outline for a clintasha soulmate au, which i hope to get done this month, along with finishing up another canon divergent fic based on the song loyal brave true.
in other terms of fandoms, i’m reside within the mcu and have been for the past few years. more specifically, agents of shield at the moment. specifically philinda, because they are so similar to clintasha to Me, but that’s neither here nor there. i’m still very early on in the show—season 1 episode 15 was the one i last watched—but i am so emotionally attached to the characters already. i could go on about that show for a while, but this intro is already dangerously long and i still have more to say, so moving on!
my music taste is ever changing, ever flowing, and i get bored of artists and need something new often- usually the high school musical and the greatest showman soundtracks are a universal yes for me. they were a crucial part of my tween years stuck under lockdown with my cousins and have a special place in my heart <3 but other than that, i’ve currently been listening to a lot of livingston and rose betts! some of my favorite songs include half life by livingston and driving myself home by rose betts. i have also been relistening to the lighting thief musical recently, because we love percy jackson in this household and i love the songs so much!! i love good kid and my grand plan especially <33
so thanks for sticking around for this very rambly intro, that’s hopefully been structured decently? i can’t quite tell, but i have a very biased view on my writing. maybe you learned something about me, maybe you think i’m crazy. both are very valid. but at the end of the day, i’m glad you’re here and let’s embark on the wild ride that is the swc session!
see you around!

daily i. 2k intro || 2000 words || back to table of contents: https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/post/8417183/
You stare at your screen, unwilling to accept the horror before you.
CHUEY IS WRITING HER INTRO IN SECOND PERSON?? AGAIN???
Oh well. Maybe it will at least be mildly entertaining this time.
Then again, wouldn't it be more fun to go read someone else's intro? Like, say, a normal one written in first or even third person? Or do something else entirely, like stare at the ceiling? You attempt to close the tab, only to realize that you can't move.
Because you're a SHOE.
WHAT!?
This isn't fair at all. Now you have to read this thing, and you're stuck as a shoe. How are you going to scroll?
As soon as you think that, the words begin to scroll. Because that's not creepy, at all. Sighing (can shoes sigh?) you begin to read (can shoes read?)
Chuey is a person (probably) that exists (maybe).
What, that's not enough? Fine.
Chuey is a homeschooled Christian who enjoys being annoying, sending tardigrade gifs, and stealing people's toes. She's best known for her disturbing sense of humor and knack for causing chaos.
Chuey's hobbies include reading, writing, art, piano, martial arts, and screaming at insects, all of which she will proceed to elaborate on the next paragraphs.
(You wish you could bang your head on the table, but sadly, you're still a shoe. They're not really known for their heads. Or necks. Or any of the muscles that would allow them to move of their own free will.)
Chuey has been reading for years, and much like a certain beloved Disney princess (her favorite), she's adapted to managing daily tasks with a book in one hand at all times. (Although she probably won't burst out into song about what she's reading, much less in French.) She has dabbled in several genres and will read just about anything, although her greatest love is fantasy. Her favorite authors and books change on such a regular basis that she's given up trying to list them all, because there are always some she's forgetting. She really likes The Lunar Chronicles, though, as well as the Cradle series and Alcatraz Versus the Evil Librarians (she hopes to become a member of the The Honorable Council of Fantasy Writers Whose Books Are Way Too Long, good old THCoFWWBAWTL, some day). Chuey regularly haunts the shelves of her library, hunting down more books to read.
(That's one section down, you think with relief - or you would, if you were capable of thinking. Unfortunately, you are still a piece of footwear.)
Ever since she was a small child, Chuey has wanted to be a writer, although for a while that desire conflicted with her interest in becoming a deep-sea diver (she's since given up this dream, deciding that there are too many sharks involved). She has about a million notebooks half-filled with her writing, although few of her attempted books make it past the first chapter. These days, she focuses more on short stories, although she hasn't given up her dream of writing a full-length novel someday, and may even have a few ideas bouncing around to work on this session. She looks forward to using her quirky sense of humor in her writing this session, although she's totally not using any of it right now. Nope, this is a completely serious intro with no silliness whatsoever.
You haven't forgotten that you're a shoe, right?
(No? Good.)
Art is another hobby that Chuey is quite invested in - she's been actively working to improve for about three years now, although she's been doodling ever since she began writing. The only difference between it and writing is that writing never makes her want to scream, start a bonfire, burn every scrap of art or art-related material she can find, hunt down a sledgehammer and knock down a section of the wall, or curse art to the heavens, not necessarily in that order. Despite this, she keeps doodling for some incomprehensible reason that no one can decipher, least of all herself. Maybe she'll figure it out someday.
You feel the need to remind yourself once more that you are still a shoe and not a human being, and certainly not a tardigrade. Why you keep feeling this urge is a mystery; you would love to forget it, but something won't let you.
Chuey has been playing the piano for a few years, despite being a pathetic excuse for a musician who wouldn't know a double bass from a cello (she really doesn't LOL). If she tries really hard, she can tell you where to find middle C on a piece of sheet music.
Chuey has also been doing martial arts for a few years, and knows twelve different pressure point strikes, a couple of chokeholds and takedowns, and the feeling of being put in a chokehold by someone half her size (it's embarrassing, also sweaty). She likes to scare friends and family by threatening to use her skills when they annoy her.
This is something Chuey is extremely proficient at, and she didn't even need to learn how. She has a natural talent for it. Just place an insect in her general vicinity, and she'll scream so loudly they can hear her in Australia. It's even better if you can manage to tangle a wasp in her hair, something that's unfortunately occurred to her before. Scorpions in her laundry and spiders in the shower are more effective ways to trigger screeching noises and wild panic. Isn't a good thing that you, a shoe, are safe from bugs?
(You aren't so sure where the logic in that statement is coming from, but who knows what anything means about anything about anything meaning anything in this tangled, twisted sentence?)
(Yes, you're very smart, spiders and scorpions are arachnids and not bugs, good for them. If it has more than four legs, Chuey doesn't care what it is as long as it's far, far away from her.)
(By the way, you haven't forgotten what you are, right? A shoe?)
Chuey is (thankfully) tired of talking about her hobbies now, so instead she's going to talk about some really random things.
(Wait, what? No! You've read over one thousand words, isn't she supposed to be done now? No? Life as a shoe is really quite unfair.)
Chuey likes spaghetti, pours the cereal before the milk, and has hair that she strongly suspects is sentient (she's lost count of how many brushes it's mangled). She refuses to eat anything but a particular brand of ranch and would rather eat plain salad that use an inferior brand of ranch. She has lots of colored pencils but rarely uses them because she's afraid they don't erase very well.
Chuey has been known to do some pretty silly things, including putting a leaf from outside off a random, probably dirty tree in her mouth on a dare without washing it off or anything (she didn't actually eat it, and no, she's definitely not scared of germs, haha, whatever would lead you to that conclusion?), poking random people on the nose, and talking incessantly about tardigrades (seriously, never ask her about tardigrades - you'll regret it). She also has a talent for starting wars and making mayhem, and if she ever gets a rabbit she wants to name it Gandalf. Chuey is allergic to her favorite animals (see if you can guess what they are, it's not like it's obvious or anything, or that she incorporated them into her username), and has a disturbing habit of using WAY too many parenthesis (like these).
Chuey really really loves SWC and has participated in five previous sessions, making this her sixth. She is very excited for this session, since it's her (You felt the need to interrupt here to say that you were absolutely still a piece of footwear, commonly known as a shoe, defined as “a covering for the foot, typically made of leather, having a sturdy sole and not reaching above the ankle, or something resembling a shoe in shape or use.”) first session leading a cabin, and plus it's just going to be a super awesome session. She's currently considering giving it up and calling it a day, but she's got a record to beat here, and she's going to do it if it kills her. (You might not be too sad if that happened, given that you're a shoe and don't have emotions.)
Chuey has started lots of chaos in the past, especially when it comes to SWC. She was responsible for starting the Soul War (sadly, she's no longer in the soul-collecting business, you'll have to see Mouse for that), was a leader in the infamous Strike Cabin, and began the Great Toe-Stealing Mayhem, started by the innocent addition of the three words “i eat toes” to her bio on her profile. She also masqueraded as a bridge troll during the Fairy Tales war in March last year, although that was back when she was just beginning to stretch her chaotic wings. SWCers have been known to wonder what else she's going to steal or borrow from them - they might get the answer to their questions this session hehe.
(You take a deep breath, then recall that you're a shoe and don't have lungs. What a pity.)
Chuey's favorite color is purple, her favorite stuffed animal is a black cat older than she is, and her favorite activity during SWC are cabin wars. You would not believe how much Chuey loves cabin wars - it's practically an obsession at this point. She loves them so much that her excitement to them happening is second only to the excitement of results coming out.
Chuey is also absolutely BONKERS and just decided she wants to attempt a 5k intro…so here comes more blabbing about her.
(You're going to be stuck as a shoe forever, aren't you?)
Chuey will now begin ranting about her favorite books and movies, despite her promise not to (hey, she's got to get those words from somewhere).
First of all, The Wild Robot!! This book series was really cute, in her opinion, but the movie went above and beyond. Normally she doesn't like the movies as well as the books, but this one nailed it. The character development, emotions, and gorgeous art style blew her away, and yes, she cried some. It was too beautifully executed not to.
The Lunar Chronicles is so good aaa, at least that's how Chuey would phrase it. She might have a crush on Captain Carswell Thorne…but how could she not??? Despite his dishonest tendencies, fickle personality, and annoying quips, he's obviously the perfect man <3
Anyways, she loves all of the characters, and as for the story, who wouldn't fall in love with a sci-fi fairy tale mashup? Chuey did, that's for sure. (Did she mention that she also fell in love with Captain Carswell Thorne? Yes, she always uses his full name, don't ask why. It's a thing. She's weird, don't question it.)
The Cradle series is not as well known, but Chuey absolutely adores it. It's got a classic underdog-rise-to-power storyline, but it's so much more than that - the worldbuilding is phenomenal, and it's just really well written. Chuey recommends it to anyone looking for their next epic fantasy series, although she will give you fair warning that it's a twelve-book series, and they are not short.
(I guess you don't care though, as a shoe you're not really capable of reading anyway and therefore your attention span can't be exhausted by a super long book series.)
Chuey sighs (which she can do, because she's not a shoe) and decides not to write a five thousand word intro after all - that's just overkill. Instead, she will ramble until she reaches two thousand words, and then go write about something else until she gets to five thousand instead. Just twenty-one more words, and then she can rest, finally.
Oh, and before she forgets, you're not really a shoe. You're actually a-
You stare at your screen, unwilling to accept the horror before you.

You're actually a-

hey everyone! i’m ivory, they/them/any neos, and this is my third session of swc! my motivation for this month is extremely high and i am confident that i will help adventure cabin as much as possible this session.
to start off with the basics: i land somewhere on the ace spectrum and i am neurodivergent, both of which have influenced my passion for activism in addition to influencing me as a person. i’m an aspiring scientist, activist, mathematician, dancer, artist, and of course a writer - which is honestly surreal to say, as i felt incompetent in my writing during the november ‘24 session. i’ve grown a lot since then, and i’ve found myself in a much better place mentally now that i’ve let go of most of the people, places, and things that were dragging me down. i won’t dive too deep into all that, though.
i’ve been interested in science for around a year by now (honestly, i think it might have been exactly a year) and i want to study chemistry and astronomy in the future. i’ve also developed an interest in neurology, which is a bit different because i never used to consider pursuing any sort of biology. i also pride myself in being skilled with math; i often tell people that numbers are like a second language for me. in addition to stem, i’m a painter - i wouldn’t say i’m very good at it, but i’ve made several collections of abstract art over the years. i am also a dancer, which is a fundamental part of who i am. dancing has helped me to cope with many drastic situations, and i probably have over 50 pieces of original choreography at this point.
i’m an activist for the aspec and neurodivergent communities as i am a member of both, like i mentioned before. i am very defensive of my opinions, and part of my recent self-care has been allowing myself to express those opinions without perceiving myself as selfish. you might find me debating various relevant issues on the side, or even within my writing.
when it comes to other interests, you can’t really know me without knowing about my obsession with the album reputation by taylor swift. reputation has saved my life countless times and i can’t imagine my life without that album anymore. i also listen to kpop, hyperpop, and 2010s mainstream edm (so pretty much anything electronic/electropop) in addition to some more obscure songs. in the past i wrote my own music, which i still sometimes do if i have a concept in mind, but most of the time i try to avoid songwriting as it brings back bad memories.
i’m not in many specific fandoms, which normally kicks me out of talking points with others (because for some reason almost nobody enjoys carrying on a general conversation anymore and insists on me having an interest in some random obscure fandom i’ve never heard of before in order to be friends) but i’m always willing to learn more about others and their interests! occasionally i will get into fandoms my friends are in.
i’m a manager of the gwdfi (girls who don’t fit in) studio and also the manager who has been there the longest, aside from the original creator of course. the studio was the start of my presence in the scratch community, even leading me to join swc last july as some of the gwdfi members convinced me to join. i was a co-leader for apocalyptic last session and i’m eventually hoping to lead my own cabin at some point.
i enjoy writing autobiographical content, research papers, and i’ve recently started a fictional novel in the genre i call abstract (which is close to surrealism, as i wrote in my march ‘25 leader application). my favorite finished project is my autobiography - it’s 121 pages long and is about my life during my 8th and 9th grade years. i write poetry on a consistent basis and i’ve won most of the local writing contests i’ve entered, or at least placed in the top 3 but never lower. in addition, as you can probably tell, i’m a frequent user of parentheses and em dashes.
i can often be very blunt and straightforward, which has led me to be a bit isolating as i will not hesitate to say what i think and express how i truly feel. it’s a part of me that i can’t completely change, but i do honestly believe that it is better to tell the truth than lie for appeasement purposes. my friends often tell me that my strong sense of justice is a positive trait that i should embrace more often.
when i’m not overly tired, one might catch me biking on the weekends (as long as the temperature is over 50 degrees fahrenheit) and hanging out with my friends, either in the middle of town or at the mall (which i visit less frequently as it’s far from my house). in school i’m the vice president and treasurer of my school’s first-ever neurodivergent club, which i founded along with its president years after i was diagnosed with adhd and anxiety. i also participate in the gsa, and i make an attempt to join most school dance recitals, as my school is very arts-based. i also have a summer job scheduled at a camp that’s not super close to me.
over the next one and a half years, i’m planning to get myself into college while also enjoying my remaining time in high school. i aspire to achieve more in my classes (especially ap english, which i haven’t been doing well in) and make new friends. despite my hardships in school, i’ve been lucky enough to find communities that accept me, people that will say hi to me in the hallways and not pick me last for a team in gym class.
i can’t wait to get to know more people in swc and have an amazing session as a camper, boosting my writing streak even further while making new friends. #adventureftw!

Hi everyone! I’m Surf, and I also go by Ray or Reina. I use they/she pronouns and I’m a member of the EST timezone. For those of you who don’t know me, I’m an introvert whose favorite color is blue and who likes rocks. This is my fifth SWC session–it took me six out of my nearly eight (?!!?!) years of being on Scratch to discover SWC–but I’m so happy to be here now! I’m very excited to be co-leading Adventure this March, #adventureftw!
I have a very large number of hobbies. When I’m not at meetings for the ten or so different clubs I’m a part of at school, you can generally find me reading, playing tennis, writing, drawing, coding, baking, learning about science, doing quiz bowl, bullet-journalling, or playing with my dog.
First off, I love to read! My favorite genres are sci-fi, fantasy, dystopian, and nonfiction, but I’ll read basically any genre save horror. I’ve been trying to read more classical literature and poetry but that’s still a work in progress. My favorite author is Brandon Sanderson, and some of my favorite series are the Reckoners, Mistborn, the Murd3rb0t Diaries, Six of Crows, Amari and the Night Brothers, All Souls, and the Aurora Cycle. I like the Martian (and other books by Andy Weir), Fourth Wing, Skyward, and the Name of the Wind. I read really quickly–last year I read 227 new books
I love to give book recommendations (it helps that I read fast), so let me know if you’d like any!
Obviously, I love writing as well. I’m currently worldbuilding and working on the plot for a novel that I hope to write and edit this summer, when I have a lot more free time! I like planning out geography, characters, flag design, culture, languages, etc… Worldbuilding is definitely one of my favorite parts of planning so it’s a lot of fun
I like to draw in my free time! I’m taking some art classes this year at school so that’s really fun. A lot of the time I make digital art, though I like to make collages out of magazines and traditional art. I’ve recently started working more with paint and graphite as well as other more-traditional mediums.
I code a lot as well; I mainly code in Python, though I have knowledge of HTML and CSS. I primarily do data analysis and build Machine Learning programs, which I’ve been working on since this summer. It’s equally fun, frustrating, and rewarding
Right now, I’m completing a few courses on deep learning and I have a few side projects going on. I’m trying to work on website design, and I do want to learn SQL and a few other programming languages if I have free time this summer. In terms of languages, I’m learning Spanish at school and home right now. I’m able to read chapter books now so it’s fun to be able to read books in different languages!
I like to bake too! Most of the time it’s just trial and error (I like to experiment a lot lol) but generally my creations turn out pretty well. I mean, excluding the one time my friend and I tried to make a seven layer cake and ended up with a tasty mess… I actually just made miso banana bread today and it is delicious <3 Some of my other favorite recipes included this adorable mini chocolate lava cake recipe, baked apple cider donuts, bundt cakes, pumpkin maple cornbread, and peach cobblers! As you can probably tell, I love to bake desserts. What about cooking? Well, sometimes I’ll cook, but I generally stick to the sweet.
The only sport I play consistently is tennis. I made my school’s Varsity team this fall, which I’m really proud of, and I actually have a job teaching tennis. I can roller skate, ice skate, play hockey, and sail a bit (I used to do more sports when I was younger), but that’s basically the extent of my athletic abilities lol
Science is another thing I love. I like biology, chemistry, and environmental science, but my favorite type of science is geology! Specifically, I like petrology, or the study of the composition of rocks–I hope I can study geoscience in college one day. I enjoy scientific research and am presenting for two different science fairs this March (speaking of which, I need to start my poster ASAP–)
I do a lot of quiz bowl competitions in my free time. Specifically, I do general quiz bowl, science bowl, and geography quiz bowl–I have a group of friends and we do a lot of competitions together which is super fun!
I also like public speaking–I have a public speaking event this March which I also need to prepare for. I used to do Mock Trial and Debate as well but they don’t fit into my schedule anymore
Oh, and I have a bullet journal! I use it to keep myself organized and it’s super fun to incorporate art into my spreads! It’s something I really enjoy doing–I actually got a brand new journal for my birthday and I’m so excited to set it up
If you’re interested in bujo/journaling, check out this camp happening next month here! https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/904379007/ (shameless advertising lol)
In terms of music, I generally listen to a mix of Twenty One Pilots, Vinyl Theatre, Bastille, Imagine Dragons, COIN, DREAMERS, and Fall Out Boy, as well as some other artists. My playlists are all book-series themed
My favorite ones are either my playlist for the Reckoners or for Mistborn!
Some of my favorite shows are ATLA, Arcane, Bad Batch, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, the Buccaneers, Carmen Sandiego, Derry Girls, and The Dragon Prince. I usually don’t watch shows on weekdays, but I love to watch them on the weekends if I have time! I just finished up Shadow and Bone and Cunk on Earth, and I think I’ll watch a Good Girl’s Guide to Murder next?
Anyway, this is a thousand words! Happy SWC
I love to give book recommendations (it helps that I read fast), so let me know if you’d like any!Obviously, I love writing as well.
I’m able to read chapter books now so it’s fun to be able to read books in different languages!I like to bake too! Most of the time it’s just trial and error (I like to experiment a lot lol) but generally my creations turn out pretty well. 1k intro
1000 words exactly
Hello and welcome to my traditional rambly one thousand word intro! I’m Kit, pronouns she/her, co-leader of Journalism and resident of the CST timezone. I’m a queer neurodivergent homeschooler who likes reading, drawing, editing wikis, and learning about whatever random thing piques my interest. I have two younger sisters (one of whom is also in SWC) and four cats (one of whom is currently sitting next to me, another of whom is currently sitting on top of me).
I’ve been doing SWC since November 2021; this will be my 11th session. Back in September ‘21, I stumbled across some old SWC promotional project of FAQ or something. It sounded interesting, so I looked into it more, and discovered some old memory books. The chaos the memory books encapsulated seemed so fun, and I knew I had to join. So when October rolled around, I signed up, and was sorted into Adventure. I had a blast, and I’ve been doing it ever since.
This is only my second session on a leading team, though — my first was way back in July ‘22, when I co-led Thriller with Birdi and Moonlit. It was an amazing experience, but a stressful one, so I didn’t apply again until this session. Journalism is the best a super cool cabin, and I hope all our campers have a great time.
I have not yet mentioned writing — you may have noticed I didn’t list it in my likes. I would say I like writing, of course, but in the way most writers do; I have a love-hate relationship with writing. In some ways I love it, telling stories, creating characters, letting said characters chat or bicker for pages on end… and in some ways I hate it, trying to find the right words, think of a good plot point, figure out pacing. I like having written, but I only sometimes enjoy the actual writing process.
So yes, I like writing. My favorite genre is fantasy, though most of my recent projects have been fanfiction. She-Ra fanfiction, specifically — She-Ra and the Princesses of Power has been my special interest for years now.
Fantasy has also always been my favorite genre to read, though I’ve been branching out more in recent years. I read a lot of realistic fiction too now, and some sci-fi and dystopian. And graphic novels; I’ll read just about anything if it’s a graphic novel with pretty art.
I have too many favorite books and authors to reasonably list, but they include Anne Ursu, Lemony Snicket, and Rick Riordan. My favorite books I’ve read so far this year are Gearbreakers by Zoe Hana Mikuta, Iron Widow by Xiran Jay Zhao, and We Are Okay by Nina LaCour. Ask me for book recommendations, I have so many…
Have I not mentioned fandoms yet? Well, some of my main fandoms are She-Ra, Percy Jackson/Riordanverse (I’ve read the original Percy Jackson series, Heroes of Olympus, and Trials of Apollo), Welcome To Night Vale, and The Owl House.
Some other shows I like are Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts, Dead End: Paranormal Park, The Dragon Prince, Hilda, and Heartstopper. I also like Arcane, but I haven’t watched season 2 yet so no spoilers. (I’m not caught up on Hilda or Heartstopper either, but I finished both the comic series they’re based on.) My favorite movies are Frozen, Encanto, and Nimona.
As for music, I mostly listen to punk, indie rock, and some pop. My favorite bands/artists are probably The Linda Lindas, The Go-Go’s, girl in red, and Olivia Rodrigo. I’m always looking to “broaden my musical horizons” or whatever, so feel free to give me recommendations. I’ve been to a grand total of two concerts (one a showcase of local bands, the other a Linda Lindas concert that happened to have my two favorite local bands as openers), both of which I love, and I hope to go to more in the near-ish future.
I also like musicals (both movie and stage). I like too many movie musicals to list, but my favorite stage ones are Wicked and The Lightning Thief. I haven’t seen the Wicked movie yet, but I watched a recording (“slime tutorial”) of the Broadway version on YouTube. I’ve seen The Lightning Thief live (my friends were in a high school production of it), and I’d highly recommend it to any Percy Jackson fans — it’s a very fun adaptation of the first book.
Oh, right, I do have interests besides media. They include (in no particular order) archaeology, history, media analysis, paleoanthropology, cryptids, mythology, and neurodivergence. I also have some interest in coding — that’s why I joined Scratch in the first place.
I used to use the site code.org, and eventually my parents suggested I try Scratch. So I did, and, obviously, I liked it. My social existence on Scratch mostly revolves around SWC now, but I still use the site to make projects when an idea strikes my fancy. I haven’t learned to code anything as elaborate as a platformer, but I can make more simple games (basically, any ones that don’t involve physics or complex math). My main projects lately have been a series of She-Ra dress up games, but I also have a silly coffee shop game based on the podcast What If World in the works.
For other spaces on the internet, I waste a lot of time on Tumblr and TV Tropes. I’m also an active user on Fandom Wiki, particularly She-Ra Wiki, where I’m a content mod and do a lot of work on the articles. You can also find me on our very own SWC Wiki (swc dot fandom dot com) — if you want me to create a page for you there, let me know; I’d be happy to make one.
And I think that just about concludes this intro. If you’ve made it this far, here, have a cookie. I look forward to seeing y’all around. Here’s to a great session, and #journalismftw.
