Could we allow blocked scratch users to still make projects? If not, why?

I'm curious, maybe let blocked scratch users still be able to access their projects?

Sorry if such a question has been already answered..

A block serves as a punishment. I would think, they want said block to be as painful as possible for the user. There's a reason you can't read your messages, or view your profile etc while blocked.

Doesn't this go against a large part of the point of the block to begin with? There's a good chance that they were blocked because they were making offensive projects, in which case they shouldn't be allowed to keep making projects during the block. Other blocks given for offensive behavior in comments or forums could potentially be made into just a forum/comment mute, though, outside of repeated or egregious cases.

Why would banned users be allowed to make projects? If they were banned, it means that they didn't follow the rules of Scratch, and as such, they can't be trusted to make content on the Scratch website (whether that be a project, studio, comment, or other things).

If they really want to create projects, they can download the Scratch App.

I'm pretty sure the OP means they can still code but they can't share. So if you get banned unfairly and need to wait the 2 or so months for ST to realize their mistake, you can still work on a project you have, in case you didn't have it downloaded.

If the banned user still wants to code, they can use the offline editor.

What I'm talking about is if they don't have a project downloaded, then they'd have to start over from scratch. That pun wasn't intentional, I swear

That's why I keep my games downloaded.
(I don't mean in case I get blocked, I mean in case of any sort of Scratch outage.)

Then they shouldn't have gotten banned.

Well,

1. It's pretty hard to get banned by accident - you get a slew of warnings unless it is something that is clearly and immediately inappropriate.
2. when you do get banned, it is usually not permanent (unless you did something stupid) so you can get your projects back after it has come back.
3. if you are permanently banned, it is almost always because you have continued to ignore the many warnings you have received. People likely know what they are getting in to by continuing to do bad things.
4. if someone got banned it is likely due to inappropriate projects being released repeatedly. Why should we let them download them and copy them onto an alt, to continue doing the bad things?

No support. Blocks are meant as punishment. Though partial bans (like report mutes for mass reporting and project creation mutes for repeatedly trolling (E.G: making fun of tragic events that happened in the past)) would kinda be the solution if so.

They absolutely do /not/ want it to be as painful as possible. It is a punishment and a disciplinary action, but that doesn't mean ST wants to make it a terrible experience. If they did, they'd probably block a lot more, like an IP ban or no temp bans

Does post count change if it's a duplicate? I honestly didn't know that lol. Also, I wish I didn't get banned. I got banned for hacking hackers in the stulive attacks. yes it's stupid and i now know that didnt help at all and actually made things worse. I didn't know what I was doing was wrong.
