GAMING CONSOLES: HOME CONSOLES AND HANDHELDS
I couldn't find a gaming console forum, so I decided to make one!
Feel free to discuss gaming things here, but mostly focus on the consoles rather than the games.
I also kind of intended to make this for people to share their console concepts.
Forum Rules:
-No spam
-No being rude or anything disrespectful
-No arguments (they are different from discussions)
-Keep things PG
-Everything else on the forum policies
-Have fun GO DISCUSS!

Another fun fact: Both Gamecube and Wii discs are DVDs. (Because they can hold up to 1.5 GB) And Wii U discs are Blu Ray. (Which can hold up to 25 GB; that's how the Wii U got it's HD gaming.)

What was the earliest console (in terms of console release date) you have heavy nostalgia for? I remember the PS2 well, and I'd played it years after its release.

god what is up with previous-gen consoles immediately becoming awful to play on when their successor comes out
like no, i do not remember my PS4 being a furnace you can play god of war on when eighth gen consoles were the most recent

predictions for 10th gen of consoles:
new gimmick comes around, gets shoved into about every game under the sun and dies out by middle of 11th gen
fourth mainstream console arrives (bonus points if made by valve)
nintendo is once again early to 11th gen
console wars start up again to some extent
new aesthetic is made, becomes popular for like ten years before getting replaced by another boring flat style of design

I honestly feel like the dreamcast was way ahead of its time and If it didn't release as early as it did it probably could have sold really well

Fact: Capcom made once made a console called the “Capcom Power System Changer”. Basically what it was is a capcom branded supergun with a CPS-1 Board A that plays cartridges that were basically condensed CPS-1 Board Bs in a plastic case. The cheapest price i could find on one of these was $1,700.
