Where do you suggest this link to be? Replacing the link on the topic title would cause confusion as typically a topic title would link to the topic, not your post…

if you look closely, OP is clicking on last post
the suggestion is to change last post to actually link to the last post

Now I see that I misunderstood, but I don't think you're correct either - I believe the OP is requesting that said link doesn't link to the last post, but rather the post that they made on the topic.
