A private censor list.
support. this allows people who have had traumatic experiences to block specific trigger words, like g*n, or for people of specific religions to block out words they might find offensive, such as h*ll.
What effect would this have exactly? The only benefit I see here is for Anti-LGBT and similar people to censor stuff like “gay”.red herring fallacy. this affects nobody as nobody else can see your censor list. as long as they don't spew any bigoted stuff, it doesn't outweigh the pros of the suggestion too much.
Bad words are already not allowed on scratch. I don’t see the need to censor anything else.
??? did you see “private” and assume this was about private messaging?I came up this suggestion when reading TOLORS 6.7.No support. This would have to do with private messaging.
This would allow the user to have a list of words that would be censored when they appear.
You could not change the standard list nor see the words on it.
This would allow the site to be more friendly and usable by all.
Maybe if a parent/guardian set the words you would have to enter a password to protect children from seeing the words.
Which is:
Rejected 7.1
Would it work with other characters? Ex. someone wrote cupcakes! and you censored cupcakes would it still work?i'd assume it works the same as the built in scratch filter: just put in a word and it censors that word on your side everytime it's seen in a page. although it may be harder to do perhaps because it's user side, but idk anything about the internal workings of scratch so
Sorry, you have to wait 60 seconds between posts.

It could say, “You can't replace a word with the same one!”snip~I don't think add your own should be there as what if some one censored follow me, but then that same person censored it with follow me, There would be a paradox, although the same could be said for any of those options
What effect would this have exactly? The only benefit I see here is for Anti-LGBT and similar people to censor stuff like “gay”.If a person wants to be racist or sexist, the it would only effect them.
Bad words are already not allowed on scratch. I don’t see the need to censor anything else.
Additionally, I think this would be a good feature, as sexual, (removed by moderator - please keep it polite) is allowed on Scratch, and some parents don't want that. Big fat support.

I wouldn't want to actually type bad words to add them to the list. What if in the account settings there's an option to change the strictness of the filter? Obviously it couldn't any less strict than default, but it would be nice if you could prevent people from swearing on your profile. (And probably just hide the words in other places.)
I know I've said this before, but I wanted to rewrite my idea so it could sound better.

I came up this suggestion when reading TOLORS 6.7.So Basically If You Censor The Word Hello It Comes Up As “*****”

Bump because dupe
I think this definitely has its benefits; as the user from the dupe pointed out, users may have had traumatic experiences. Certain words which may seem normal to others may bring back memories of those experiences and trigger upsetting feelings. As well as this, some users with obsessive compulsive disorder may be avoidant of certain words and phrases.
