You have to format it. SD cards larger than 32 GB ship as exFAT, so the SD card needs to be formatted as FAT32.i want a 128GB SD card but does that work on an og 3DS? it says it's not considered compatible-snip-if you want a lot of software then probably 64g or 128g but if you just want homebrew or emulators then 32g or 16g is probably enough

Just bring it to a repair shop, if you have the money, they will, and i can guarantee, fix it in half a hour. Bring it there, enjoy the surroundings of the shop for a bit, pay and get your console back, and it's as good as new.The A button on my 3DS stopped working despite me not using it in months, what do I do?
The triggers on my 3DS are failing and I thought I was unlucky. Atleast I can use my 3DS to play picross and virtual console. Good luck for whatever you do with yours.
If you get a “Sorry, we can't fix it”, at least buy a new motherboard (Buttons/Touchscreen) because the rest can be still used.

I finally have the SD card and reader I need to mod my 3DS. Now I just need to actually mod it, but there is one problem: I'm too worried that I'm accidentally going to brick my console, so I keep putting it off.I'm a bit dense regarding mods, but I managed to do it. There's one part where you need to time a button press but if you fail you can just try again.

Okay, maybe i expressed myself a bit too vulgar back there.

I don't remember that, but to be fair I didn't mod my 3DS. I assume it will be fairly easy to mod and risk-free like a DSi, which I have modded myself. So what you're saying is: I gotta hit the Quick Time Event.I finally have the SD card and reader I need to mod my 3DS. Make sure you use the correct exploit for your system version and model, follow all instructions fully.
Reminder to not use video guides as they can be outdated, especially considering there has been changes to what is needed for modding fairly recently (within the last 2 years).

where is the SD card topic
I'm gonna get a 32GB SD card. there's not many games I genuinely want for my 3DS so I'm just gonna live with small space.
After I buy it, i'm gonna mod my 3DS.

I'm done cowarding out. I'm GOING TO mod my 3DS. what SD size should I get?my 3DS has stickers on it too if that counts for anythingHey guys. I need help with my 3DS. My outer cameras only work in certain games. Mii Maker, Amiibo Camera (ACNL) and pretty much only games that use the camera as a side feature. Model: CTR-001 3DS (2011)if there's anyone who has not yet responded to this, please help!
other information:
In camera app, makes the app extremely slow, and does not show outer camera.
in other apps (like ACNL or Mii maker, mostly apps that use the camera as a small side feature) it works normally
I did a factory reset to no avail.
Inability to mod my 3DS
have to POWER OFF 3DS after camera app opens for the 3DS to work (hold power for 12 second)
11.17.0-50U
Based on my previous research online, I wouldn't recommend to use a card with more than 64GB of storage. Apparently, the loading time when the 3DS boots up lengthens based on the size of the SD card. Also, cards with 128 or more GB of storage tend to make virtual console titles lag.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, somebody.

Above that it is mostly still fine but some issues do arise as you say.

I still need to mod-If it's convenient, you can try transferring files over your network (rather than using a MicroSD adapter, because most computers I've come across don't have a dedicated slot) if you can virtualize Windows 8.1– (It doesn't work on Win11) it's completely free.
Apologies for the parenthetical overuse!
