Adding simplified BBcode support in Scratch descriptions
1/The idea:
Add a simplified version of BBcode to project and studio descriptions (not comments) on Scratch. This feature would allow owners to structure and highlight important information
BBcode tags:
2/Why use it?
BBcode could significantly enhance the readability and presentation of project and studio descriptions, here some examples:
-Using headings, bullet points, and separators would allow owners to organize their descriptions, making them clearer for viewers
-Owners could use bold text for rules or underline credits, making essential information easier to spot
-Better formatting enables creators to present their work in a more attractive way, it may encourage to read descriptions

I found nothing about what I’m suggesting, sorry if this is a duplicate

Lets remove studios and projects because people can break the CG's!There's a reason images are not allowed in comments, people might get…. HR isn't even in forum BBcode, also why no image tag, why the limited emojis?
You can just report the images, scratch can add a new report reason.

No, but still, its easier to do it in comments and get away with it. You could also put it on, when somebody sees it then delete it.Lets remove studios and projects because people can break the CG's!There's a reason images are not allowed in comments, people might get…. Yes and? It’s a part of BBcode and why is it because it’s not in forum that it couldn’t be in projects/studios? HR isn't even in forum BBcode
What’s the utility to have images in descriptions?? In my opinion, there’s not why no image?
I put some examples to illustrate the idea, however the « … » means that there’re others why the limited emojis?

The problem is BBCode is used to bypass the filter.

You can still do it though, for example, with (redacted)(#8)I don't think that has been a problem since the long forum downtime back in November 2023.

I tried on my side, and the filter isn’t bypassed, what’s more you can bypass the filter even without BBcode The problem is BBCode is used to bypass the filter.

You can easily bypass the filter with BBCode, for example wth is censored in the forums with an asterisk.I tried on my side, and the filter isn’t bypassed, what’s more you can bypass the filter even without BBcode The problem is BBCode is used to bypass the filter.

I understand that BBcode could potentially make bypassing the filter easier in some cases. However, as I mentioned, bypassing is already possible without BBcode, and it’s, in my opinion, an issue tied to the current limitations of the filter itself, not necessarily the formatting options. I think this feature has a lot of potential to enhance project and studio descriptions, and that it shouldn’t harm much more than it’s already the case with other featuresYou can easily bypass the filter with BBCode, for example wth is censored in the forums with an asterisk.I tried on my side, and the filter isn’t bypassed, what’s more you can bypass the filter even without BBcode The problem is BBCode is used to bypass the filter.

But it wouldn't be very beneficial to make it much easier to bypass the filter.
If someone really wants to use Scratch for inappropriate things, it’s not hard at all, with or without BBcode. I mean, a person could literally make a project with an inappropriate image, and this person wouldn’t even need to bypass anything. Project could be reported for that, and it’s exactly same if BBcode is used to misuse. What’s more, you can already bypass the filter using BBcode, even when it’s not activated, so if it can be used as a “weapon” even if it’s not activated, why should it still useless for good intentioned users out of the forums?
