Absolutely no emails allowed?

I'm leaving Scratch soon so it will be pretty hard to contact me through the site. I thought it might be good if I could put my public (NOT PRIVATE) email out on my profile or something just in case. Of course I know giving away emails is against the CGs, but do you think the ST would bother if I put a message saying that it's a public one for contact reasons?

I'm guessing the answer to this is that I can't do it, but just checking for everyone's opinion to whether it's fair (and maybe there was a case like this before.)

Even if your email address is public information, I believe the act of sending an email to it would be private messaging, which isn't allowed on Scratch.

Also, email addresses should not be shared on Scratch, aside from @scratch.mit.edu addresses.
I'm not aware of any exceptions to that rule.

Be safe: keep personal and contact information private.

For safety reasons, don't give out any information that could be used for private communication, in person or online.

This includes sharing real last names, phone numbers, addresses, hometowns, school names, email addresses, usernames or links to social media sites, video chatting applications, or websites with private chat functionality.
If you want to see what Scratchers are saying to you, you should check your Scratch account's messages regularly.
You don't have to be active on Scratch, you can just check your messages and sign out.

Leading people off-site is already sketchy, especially if you're leading them to places where private messaging is an option. I think it would be best to avoid doing that.

OK yeah, that's kinda what I assumed. In my update project I already have a line saying “Put a comment on my profile and hope for the best” anyways.
